Uefa takes action against Manchester United

Uefa has begun disciplinary proceedings against Manchester United following their Champions League defeat by Real Madrid on Tuesday.

European football’s governing body is taking action over Nani’s red card and the “non-fulfilment of post-match media obligations” at Old Trafford.

Nani’s red card for a high challenge on Álvaro Arbeloa is subject to a disciplinary review which will decide whether the automatic one-match ban should be extended.

United lost the tie 3-2 on aggregate.

Nani’s high tackle was reckless and dangerous; Arbeloa could have had a really nasty injury! angry.gif His red card was fully deserved – I don’t think he or Sir Alex should have anything to rant about.

I wonder why they didn’t go for Arsène Wenger. If they’ve got Robin van Persie, why not match him with his old boss? The French manager’s time at Arsenal is all but up anyway.
