Well, that's it. i'm back in Spain...well Barcelona waiting for the ferry to Palma. The trip showed up a few shortcomings and i wonder if anyone may pass on some advice.

The brakes are crap. I intend to do a full service but what would a brake servo conversion entail? Also, i missed some brilliant vented discs and caliper spacers on ebay about a year ago - anyone know where i can get some of those?

There seems to be a lot of play in the front wheel bearings but i'm told that this a normal skud thing. Are they the tightenable tapered roller type?

After the trip, the car now sufferes from what i used to call pre-ignition back in the day - runs on a little after you turn the ignition off. What do you think? Timing or overheating a bit? The temp gauge says normal but the head seems hot to me. it has a rad up forward but i reckon that it's lower than the head. Airlock maybe? Deffo want Skudmans timing sensor gadget!

The wiper motor gave up but it was crap at the best of times. Any thoughts on a more gutsier conversion?

The car bottoms out coming off of ferries! what are the ins and outs of height adjustable suspension?

The electrics have suffered a lot of bodging. Are looms available or is it do it yourself? How accurate are the haynes wiring diagrams. Why does my brake master cylinder have two switches feeding the brake light circuit?

Finally, the transmission is noisy in first and really nasty sounding in reverse. Is this a normal state of affairs?

That lot should keep someone occupied for a while the next time there's bugger all on telly!
