And it's that time again, Riverwoodians. Time for another update of epic proportions! First on the list, I would like to publicly apologize for not being around as much as I should have been the past couple of weeks. Things were happening that made me put many things on hold and I'm sorry. Those of you I owe replies to, please be patient with me! I haven't forgotten you.
However, this brings me to my first point. Just because I haven't been posting or talking in the chatango doesn't mean I don't notice things. The first thing I'd like to address is the constant over usage of the ICC box. I do thank Criss for providing us with the auto-refreshing one, but since she graced us with that privilege, it has been getting a lot more usage than it should be. It is not e replacement for threads, you guys. It is a tool to use when you might need an extra bit of muse or maybe just need a pick-me-up. Please slow down the usage or I'll have to take away the link for a while. I don't mean to sound harsh, but it bothers me. Especially with the Activity Check happening. You all should be focusing on getting characters active and getting unfinished characters finished.
And I'm brought to another point: if your character is unfinished, please do not post with them on the board. This extends to the ICC box. If you are merely awaiting admin approval on a finished application, then using the ICC box is fine. But otherwise, please refrain unless you have explicit permission from one of the admins.
One last thing I would like to address is the sudden influx of Instant Messaging threads. These do not count toward activity and yet almost 1/3 of the board's active threads are in that forum alone. This deeply worries me. If you can gain enough muse or motivation to volley IMs between characters back and forth, surely you can add a few extra words to reply or start a thread. We made our word count low for a reason you guys. We're not strict on reply length for your own benefit. But please, if I continue to see a rise in IM threads like I have I will be forced to make that board unreply-able to anyone who isn't a member of staff. And I really don't want to have to do that because that's not very fair, now is it?
Last but not least, I am extending the Spotlight Nominations until Friday night [May 11th] at 3 AM EST. There is hardly enough in the nominations to make a fair vote. Go thread stalking, take a look at archived threads, take a moment to look around!
Also, please, please, please if you are active, go and claim your characters in the activity check. If you don't, you will lose any and all claims. Also, members with new characters, please post your character's face claim in the check as well as that Face Claim will replace the old one.
Also, soon I will be looking for ideas for an entire sitewide plot. Something that involves the whole town of Riverwood, not just the school. So start thinking of ideas!
Have a good day Riverwood and happy RPing!
