You and I Forever, TAG: Katherine; Elijah proposes

[Elijah]

Elijah felt the cold splash of water against his face as he slowly turned his head to look at the ceiling. He took a breath as to calm himself down. He never felt more nervous in his entire life. He was going to finally ask Katerina to marry him. He felt it was the right time in life to do this. After all,they were going to adopt a child together. Their daughter. He knew soon their daughter would be here and they would be a family. That Elijah was getting the happiness with Katerina he deserved. The one he would have had if Klaus hadn't screwed it all up. Elijah took another breath as he looked at the ring he had with a smile. It would only be moments until Katherine returned. Everything was set. He had the cd player playing her favorite song. There was a path of candles and roses leading towards their bedroom for her to follow. Elijah felt completely nervous but he worried...what if she didn't say yes? That would break him apart.

Katherine had been out getting more blood. Klaus had promised to keep her and Elijah supplied on human blood. She made her way home safely since she knew nothing special was there when she got home. As she opened the door Katherine the music and roses hit her. Candles were spread everywhere illuminating the rooms. Petals were on the ground and Katherine put the packets of blood on the counter before following the petals to the bedroom. Elijah in a suit. What was going on! "Elijah, what is..?" She started to ask but then stopped knowing the words would not flow out of her mouth at the moment. "Why are you dressed up handsome?"

Elijah saw the surprised look on Katherine's face and it made him laugh. But on the inside,he was nervous as hell. How the hell was he going to ask her to marry him? He had so many ideas but he was worried mainly that she'd reject him. No,no. Elijah couldn't think like that. He had to be confident. This was his Katerina he was talking about. "I always dress like this." He lied as he walked closer to Katherine,laughing. "But I'll tell you in a little but first..." He held his hand out to her. "Listen to the music. Do you recognize it? I believe it is your favorite."

Katherine raised one of her eyebrows at him. He never dressed this fancy as he was at this moment. "You do not dress this fancy Elijah for nothing. Katherine said smiling and then took his hand.As her ears turned more into the song she smiled and then tears formed in her eyes. "Yes it is. Thank you Elijah." Katherine answered moving closer to Elijah and kissed him gently on the cheek. "Now whats going on Lijah?"

Elijah knew Katherine could see right through him and she knew when things were out of the ordinary. But he was glad that was all she could notice was off. The last thing he wanted was his proposal ruined. He had spent so long in planning and he just wanted everything to be perfect. That was all. Perfect. For him and Katherine. This is because he also knew their daughter was arriving today so he wanted to have two great surprises for her. Elijah took her hand as he pulled her close to him,leading her in the dance. With those tears,he knew he chose the right song. But he didn't want her to cry unless they were happy tears. When she asked what was going on,he couldn't avoid it any longer. It was time. He looked into Katherine's eyes and said to her,"Do you know what my first thoughts were when we met? Those many years ago? I thought,'That is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.' I still think that to this very day. Every time I wake up to see you,I always consider myself lucky we met. Much of my life was unhappy but now,you make it all the better. I love you so much,Katerina. I know since we are vampires,we can forever. But forever would be wasted if I didn't have you in my life." Then Elijah stopped their dancing slowly as he took Katherine's hand in his as he smiled. "You are my existence. Always and forever." Elijah then got on one knee,holding the box with the ring in his head. "Katerina,love of my life,will you marry me?" Elijah then opened the box,revealing the ring.

Katherine looked at Elijah with tears still in her eyes. She smiled at him and then tried not to cry more. Her favorite song was just making her feel more and more happy. Their dancing just made her more and more happy. Then it stopped and he went down on the knee. Katherine was about to say something to get up but then she froze. "Lijah..." Katherine muttered as he started to say all these things she could feel herself almost beginning to blush. As he opened the box to reveal the box a gasp parted from her lips. "Lijah. Yes. I will marry you and be with you forever."She smiled and then knelt to his level and then kissed him before he put the ring on her forehead.

[Elijah]

If Elijah's heart would be pounding now if it was still beating. He was never more the nervous in his entire life. He worried for the worst. What if she said no? What if she ran off? But what was he even thinking? She loved him. He knew that. Why else would they have risked so much for each other? Why else would they be adopting a young daughter together? Elijah then was distracted from his thoughts when he heard her say yes. Elijah instantly kissed her,holding the kiss for several moments before releasing it and placing the ring on Katherine's finger before standing up and pulling her into another kiss. She had said yes! But Elijah had one more surprise for her. Elijah released the kiss and said,"Katerina,I have one more surprise for you. But I must ask you close your eyes."

Katherine looked at him in surprise as he said he had another surprise for her. "Elijah. There's more when you have already done so much?" She fingered the ring on her finger. Everything was changing and now that Katherine knew that everything was going to be different than the past five hundred years. Five hundred running from Klaus and Elijah now it was funny; they were together. "Ok I am closing my eyes. Hurry up I am already getting curious over here." Kat said smiling and then closed her eyes and waited.

[Elijah]

Elijah laughed softly and took her hand,leading her out to the living room. But he knew what time his next surprise was going to be here. Elijah stopped in the doorway. "Wait right here,Katerina. Don't open those eyes until I tell you." Elijah smiled as he heard a faint door knock. He rushed over to the door and opened it quietly as he saw someone from the adoption agency and their daughter. The person welcomed Elijah as her official parent. But Elijah compelled the person before hand to keep quiet except for those words. Elijah took his daughter's hand tenderly and lead her inside. She seemed to be calm about meeting her adoptive father for the first time. Elijah shut the door quietly and whispered to her. "I'm your father now,Jenny." His voice was calm and caring. "And I will love you as if you were my daughter from birth. You will be cared into a great family." Instantly the little girl hugged Elijah and he smiled,hugging her back. "Would you like to meet your mother?" He asked and the girl nodded. Elijah then picked her up,holding her in his arms as he balanced her so she could hold onto his shoulder. "Katerina,my love." He said. "Open your eyes and meet our daughter,Jennifer."

Katherine kept her eyes closed as she was told. Honestly she couldn't think of anything else that was going to be a surprise to her. That was when other voices hit her and stuff and even Elijah's voice made her curious. She opened her eyes slowly as he said our daughter. There she was, Jennifer holding onto Elijah's shoulders suddenly looking timid when gazing upon Katherine. Elijah looked natural of being a Father with a child in his arms. Katherine's eyes handed on his in adoration. "Lijah! This is a wonderful surprise! Welcome Jennifer! Or would you like to be called something else sweetie?!" Katherine asked. Jenny nodded her head and in a timid voice came out with, "Jenny. Can...can I see my room?" Katherine nodded at her question and held out her arms for her. Jenny came and with that she started walking towards her room. As soon as the door opened Jenny squirmed down and went to her bed plopping under the covers and folded her hands together.

Katherine stayed near the doorway and grasped Elijah's hand in hers and watched."Dear Lord. Thanky You for giving me a pretty mom and a dad that can make the boys run away. I love my pink room and my doll. Amen." With that she continued to sit with her hands folded and started to play with the doll. The tears swelled up in her eyes and Katherine told Jenny they would be out in the living room. She made the doll wave and then Katherine still clasping Lijah's hand made him follow her. "Lijah... I haven't been this happy in forever....thank you." She said and with that the first tear in a while fell down her cheeks and then more flowed.

[Elijah]

Elijah had to admit. Holding Jenny in his arms like this,it felt completely natural to him. Like she already was his daughter for years. He knew this. He would protect his daughter with his life. She and Katerina were his family. Besides all of his siblings of course but they were his own family. He would protect them with his life. He lost Katerina and his happiness once. He wouldn't do so again. He watched as Jenny immediately warmed up to Katherine and it brought tears to his eyes. As Katherine guided her to Jenny's room,he followed and watched as the girl immediately set in. He felt tears in his eyes as he heard Jenny's little prayer. That was their daughter. There was no doubt about it. Elijah smiled and wrapped his arm around Katherine as he walked out into the living room. "You're welcome,Katerina. I'm so happy too,you know. I got my happiness once again with you and I don't plan on losing this happiness. We have our daughter now. We're finally a family. All that is left is our wedding."

Katherine smiled as his arm went around her and she could have blushed if she could have. Katherine turned to him still with tears in her eyes and smiled more at him and then went closer to him. "Elijah thank you. I will never be able to thank you enough. You have given me a daughter back that was taken from me when I was little." Katherine said. No one besides a few knew she had a child when she was little. Kat pressed her lips against his and then broke it after a few minutes. "We have our own little girl now. Then we are engaged. A girl and going to be married in all in one night. If this was five hundred years ago I wouldn't be safe." Kat said with a laugh.

[Elijah]

Elijah remembered when Katherine told him about the daughter she lost. He couldn't begin to imagine the pain she must have felt. To have someone's child taken from you had to be unimaginable. Now that Jenny was his daughter,he never wanted to ever feel that. He'd protect her and Katerina with his life. Elijah smiled and kissed Katherine lightly. "I know,Katerina,I know. You don't have to thank me. We both wanted this life. To have a daughter,to be a family like this and it's not five hundred years ago now,things have changed. We can both be happy." Elijah rested his forehead against her,smiling. "We both deserve it,don't we?"

As he leaned his forehead against hers Katherine smiled and kissed him back. "Yes we both deserve this. I am so happy we get to start over." Katherine said smiling at him and then pulled him down onto the couch as she sat down. She sat next to him as much as possible without going into his lap. "We have a little girl Elijah." She said in a whisper as if to keep Jenny from hearing. "So when should our wedding be?" She asked him in a whisper as she asked it in his ear.

[Elijah]

Elijah was beyond happy and Katherine knew this. They got this chance to start over again. They had their daughter and the three of them were a family. When Katherine sat next to him on the couch,he wrapped his arm around her waist,kissing her back. He whispered as well. "Yes we do. She's our daughter. Our little Jenny. She'll be well spoiled,I promise you." Elijah laughed. Yes,Jenny will be spoiled. Not only by himself but also by his siblings. He knew Seraphina would be one of those who would spoil her. He thought about when their wedding should be. "Well,when do you want our wedding to be? We first have to announce our engagement. Because I do want my family there...including Niklaus. I know how you feel about him being around but...he is my family and I know,Sapphire will want to attend. You two have been getting along a lot lately."
