Description: Halloween 2012, 11:30 pm. Two girls have been kidnapped by assailants in "scream" costumes. The kidnappers are unknown to the girls. Kol knows neither the location of the girls nor the real kidnapper though he will think it was his estranged father, Mikael.
Facts Kidnapper: Sera and a ton of Klaus' hybrids. Victims: Caroline and Lyla Why: Because its Halloween...and some of Sera's personal motivations.
Care is hidden in the old tunnels and is chained to the walls at the moment still unconscious after a vervain injection. Lyla is hidden in the cave and is chained to a wall and is knocked out badly.
Messages Kol has received: 1st Message: I have Lyla. (attachment) 2nd Message: I have Caroline. (attachment) 3rd Message: Do you need any more proof son? 4th Message: You know I don't like being ignored. (attached 1 video of Lyla being tortured and one of Caroline's torture [round one]) 5th Message: Games? I don't play games son. I use any means necessary to get what I want. What I want is simple. 6th Message: You to suffer for a while like your victims have over the years. You have ten minutes to choose which of your abominations lives and which dies. Take to long and I'll kill them both. 7th Message: Unless of course you wish to offer a trade for the second girl. One of your sisters in exchange for both of the abominations? Choose wisely, the clock is ticking. 8th Message: From Lyla's Phone - Kol save me. If you don't I'm dead. P.S. From her attacker, it would be good if you saved one of them. This one is fun to destroy. 9th Message: Caroline's Video not begging for her life. 10th Message: Your little friend's trick has cost you time son, now you only have two minutes left, but you know how impatient I am. 11th Message: You'll find your love at (insert co-ordinates here) follow the tunnels.

Seraphina had never been one to hide her dislike for people, and naturally, she disliked any woman who dared to date one of her older brothers, it just was not cool. Lotte, she had been fine with. Kat she had adjusted to. Sage was a stupid little bitch and none of the family liked her, so Sera didn't even bother trying to be nice. But Lyla and Caroline with Kol was just bothering her more than usual, and she didn't know why. Maybe because Kol was so close to her in age, or perhaps because Charlotte's "gift" was giving them no insight into which woman Kol liked better. Sera hated being out of the loop on things. Of course, after tonight she wouldn't be out of the loop any longer.
Halloween pranks were popular in this family, always had been, but because of Kol's heightened sense as a vampire, it was hard as hell to trick him. In fact, she was pretty sure no one ever had, but no one had tried it from her angle before. Instead of attacking Kol directly and having his sense save him from the trick, she was going the indirect route and attacking something he loved. That was where Caroline and Layla came into her plan. She would kidnap them, torture them, hold them for a bit, keep sending Kol new video clips of them via a pre-payed cell, and once he was super tense, a text would be sent with instructions on how to save them. It was genius! Saph had helped put up some spells so neither girl could escape; she had also made it impossible for Kol to track them.
Sera seriously loved her sister. Yes, she considered Saph a sister already. Lotte had promised to help her too, and indeed she had with the actual kidnapping so both could be taken at the same time. Sera had followed Caroline from her friend's party back to her home where she changed out of her dress. Sera would have taken her chance then, but the sheriff was home, and Sera didn't want anyone seeing her snag Caroline. She had been forced to wait until Caroline made it to the beer store before attacking and knocking her unconscious. Ditching Caroline's car in the parking lot she drove in her own car to the old tunnels that existed under parts of the town and took Caroline down into them chaining her to the wall with full intent to move her later since the chains made it hard for her to react to any sort of pain, she would move her to the cage or something.
Okay, one down, and lots of hybrid minions left dressed in scream costumes to carry out her bidding so she had gone to check on Charlotte and Lyla down in the cave only to find Lyla's still unconscious, but not hurt since vampires healed quickly. Sera and Lotte went outside where it was safe to talk out of Lyla's ear range. "Shit Lotte! How hard did you hit her?" Charlotte had given her that, don't mess with me look before finally answering. "Bitch had it coming, did you see what she did to my house?! Dagger hole in my beautiful new walls, and a damn lose floor board!" Oh, so Lotte was still bitter about that. Well, she always did know how to hold a grudge. Sighing, she told Charlotte that they could get back to the house so the minions could send pictures to Kol's cell showing his two hurt girlfriends.
Sera had only been home for a few moments when Klaus' hybrids called to say they were ready and she went of in search of Kol. "Hello brother dearest," she whispered with one of her trademark smiles as she snuck up behind him. At that moment his phone beeped, once, and then again...texts!! Sera was honestly excited. Kol was going to go out of his mind, with worry. It would be nice to see him a bit stressed for once. "You gonna get that?" She asked simply pretending not to be interested, but she was interested. She knew the messages were simply pictures with the caption I have Caroline, and I have Lyla. The third message that came in a little while later said, Do you need more proof son? Yes, Sera was super evil letting him think it was Mikael who had his girls, but father was back and that was something he would do.

Kol was back to mingling with the General public who had choosen to attend the halloween party at his brother's place. He had to hand it to all involved in the planning, it was quite an extravagant spectacle and a real hit with all the guests. Although he'd been here for a while he hadn't gotten too much time to really look over the place which was what he'd been doing for the last little while. Not long after he'd arrived at the party he'd been called off to meet with Lyla about something, but once he'd found the room it was quite clear that she had beckoned him for a different reason all together. But he had an advantage over people trying to surprise him and it hadn't gone over quite as well as she planned and it seemed to have out the two of them in slightly sour moods, not exactly ending that meeting on the best of terms. Kol also suspected one of them or even both would have to answer for the noticeable hole in the wall, a reaction to her antics that he hadn't given thought to at all.
It wasn't that he was against pranks or was a poor sport about them, really how could he be his heightened sense allowed to usually come out on top. It was something he'd come to expect with his family. They all knew how to have a bit of fun, even at the expense of others, despite not all of them having the same sense of humour. Even Finn wasnt against the occasional prank or an evening of good fun, but that was what Kol remembered and it was a long time ago, who knew what time did to his brother. This particular prank though seemed to have just rubbed Kol the wrong way ad he hadn't hide that all to well, but they'd known one another for a long time, so she knew of his temper, most people did who knew him or at least knew him that well.
Having been caught up with Lyla for a little while Kol had missed the brief reappearance of his father, giving him the ability to enjoy the rest of the evening without having to worry about much of anything, well at least that's what he believed since he had no idea of anything that was planned for the rest of the night. He'd parted ways with Lyla a while ago leaving her to do as she pleased while he mingled his way towards the refreshment area, mainly the bar. He was in the middle of ordering a third drink, a vodka tonic when felt someone coming up behind him, easily recognizing the voice that accompanied the greeting. Kol turned around, a smile placed on his lips as he did so, "Sera, a pleasant surprise." he said, he hadn't really seen any of his siblings since the party had started.
Before the conversation could really go much further Kol felt the vibration and heard the beep of his cell phoe from it's place in his pocket. A funny little device he'd taken some time getting use to after he'd gotten out of that coffin. But it wasn't too hard to get use to and he practically kept the thing on his person at all times. Kol nodded and reached through his pockets pulling out a slick phone seeing he had a couple of messages from an unknown contact. He knitted his brow and shipped his thumb along the screen revealing the first text, his expression changing instantly at not just the message but the picture attached to it, Lyla looked much worse then when he'd last seen her. He'd seen her not to long ago and she was in a house full of people, at least he believed she hadn't left yet, how the hell had some one grabbed her. Hastly he passed through to the next text and saw Caroline look worse for wear too. His jaw clenched as he clicked the last text no knowing what exactly to expect but what he saw he was definitely no expecting to see and his expression blanked for a moment. "How the hell did Mikael get free?" Kol growled, snapping his up to look up at Sera, his phone clenched in his hand until he realized it probably wasn't in his best interest at the moment. Although his phone was the least of his worries at the moment, his father having Lyla and Caroline could not end well. He was going to. Have to figure out something and he had a feeling he wouldn't have a lot of time to do so.

Lyla had been at Klaus' miniature graveyard at the back of his mansion and then everything went black. As she woke up she found her head pounding and saw lights coming towards her. It was either Kol or Mikael pulling this on her. But then once she tried to move she found that she was chained to the wall. "What the hell." The chains were already starting to burn her skin and she could feel the pull each time she tried to get away. One of the people neared her and she recognized one of them but then the masks caught her off guard. "Well well Ms. Blanchett, lets see if Kol will come to save you or that other pretty girl- Caroline is it?" They asked giving her a smirk and then neared her with a wooden stake. Lyla held up her hand in defense letting out a cry as it went through her hand instead of any other part.
The masked hybrid smirked and withdrew the stake and then turned away for a moment and then turned to jam it right in her stomach. If anyone out in the regular world was out there they would have been able to hear her. Now it was just her to hear her ear piercing scream. "So let me get this straight. You are here to pull a prank so he has to to choose either me or Caroline Forbes. Who did this?"She asked her voice serious but was cut off as the man pulled it out and backed up against the wall watching her.
"Believe me. Either its you or the Forbes. If it was me I would be saving you; but I am here to make sure he picks one of you. Two different girls. One long relationship and the other brand new." He said grinning and bent down to Lyla giving her chin a flick with his finger and hit her across. "Kol will come for me." She thought to herself and then grunted as the stake went back into her stomach at full force.

but you're not gonna break my soul
Caroline had left Liz's birthday party because they were starting to run out of a few things and she knew a good 24 hour grocery store she could go to restock supplies. A quick stop off at home to get out of her big gown, since she didn't want to look like a poofy freak in the store, and then back to her car. She had only pulled into the dark parking lot and taken a step out of the car when something, no, someone, grabbed her from behind and even before she had a chance to fight back her head was smashed into the pavement. Blackness...a whole lot of blackness engulfed her, and she stayed unconscious for quite a while not feeling the vervain injection, or knowing someone had snapped a pic of her.
Finally, she came to still feeling groggy and sore. Taking in her surroundings she realized she was chained to a wall, in what looked like...well, she didn't know where she was. Someone in a mask and costume came towards her and she glared weakly. "Nice costume," she said in a sarcastic tone, "The screamer, really original, but I guess you need that mask to hide your hideous faces." Yes, she was a bit pissed off and still mad enough to fight back. Ugh, wrong move though because she found herself being taken out of the chains and dragged towards a chair in the centre of the...tunnel? She was in a tunnel. Okay, those always had exits right, she just needed to escape. As they neared the chair, she made an attempt to fight off the first guy, only to find the second grabbing her too and holding her down. Shit...she felt so weak. What had they done to her?
"Wrong choice sugar," the first masked guy said as he did up the restraints tightly. God, they were burning. What the hell? Was there vervain on them, that was just so wrong. It was playing dirty, and those masks too. It wasn't fair! She couldn't fight back if she did not know what she was fighting against. "What do you want with me?" No immediate answer, her answer came a few moments later when a wooden stake was slammed down into her bare upper thigh causing her to let out a loud cry. "Now, smile pretty for the video love," the cocky ass who was holding her instructed as her other captor pulled out a cell phone and started recording. "Go to hell," she snapped back struggling against her bindings. Wrong answer apparently.
She really needed to learn to keep her mouth shut, as soon as those words had left her lips she had felt a knife slice into her bare forearm making a long vertical cut. Caroline screamed loudly, fighting again until she felt a cold liquid being poured onto the open wound. Antiseptic? Nope, wrong again vervain. It burned and stopped her wound from healing at it's normal rate. The scream that passed over her lips was enough to churn anyone's blood. "Stop it!" she sobbed hot tears streaming down her checks as she closed her eyes and bit her lip to keep from screaming again. "Oh, we're just getting started," answered the screamer holding the phone.
Caroline wasn't sure what irritated her more, the torture, the costumes, or the fucking voice scramblers they were using so she wouldn't recognize them. As promised, more was coming. The stake in her left thigh was removed only to be slammed down into her upper right thigh. A cross between a scream and a growl passed through her gritting teeth before they finally turned the phone off and left her alone again. Right away she started to look for a way to escape.

Other thank being full out excited for her current prank, Sera had other reasons to be happy. Kol was possibly the brother she had the most fun with. He lacked Nik's sometimes insanity. He wasn't as controlled and cautious as Lijah. And thanks be to God he wasn't a whiny little girl like Finn. It was almost funny to think back to a time when Finn wasn't the way he was now. He used to be, well, rebellious like the rest of them. Now he was just suicidal and pathetic. Sera was hoping to get into some good old fashioned trouble with her older brother tonight, and if any of her siblings was willing to break the house rules, it was going to be Kol. *Mental note...break the do not sleep with guests rule before the night is over.*
"What will it be?" The guy behind the bar asked her. Tilting her head a bit to the side, she thought for a moment coming up blank. Sera never had been picky. "Surprise me, as long as it has an olive or a cherry." A few moments later she found a vodka Martini placed in front of her. It looked decent so she took a tiny sip. Not bad, she had probably had worse. She had been alive in the 80's and everything was bad back then. "How would you like to have some real fun brother? You've already broken one house rule, another won't hurt," she teased in typical Sera style. Oh yes, Charlotte was going to have his head for the hole in the wall, if she ever figured it out. Right now all she knew was Lyla had been in there for hours. Ugh...Lyla. It was like having a Sage all over again, but less skanky and more white trashy.
What an appropriately timed thought too. It came just as the first text did. As she watched her brother's reaction, she had to remind herself not to laugh or do anything else to suggest she was in on the whole thing. Thank God Kol didn't have Bekah's heightened sense, or her own for that matter. Sera hid her thought's well looking like the sweet and worried sister she used to be back in her human life. "What is it?" she asked worry evident in her tone. Sera really should have been an actress. Probably would have been too if she wasn't, well, a vampire. Peeking over his shoulder she read along with the messages before taking a step back as he turned to face her. "Long story short...Katerina had a moment of pure insanity and released him. I have yet to gather why she did it though."
Her brothers really knew how to pick women didn't they? Nik had picked the same woman Lijah had and they had fought over her. Later Elijah had fallen for the doppelgänger sacrifice who had just released their father. Finn had picked a whore no one else liked or though good enough for the family. Oh, and Nik, he decided to double dip with Lotte and Saph. Seriously, were all of the men in this family complete incompetents when it came to women? Hopefully, fingers crossed, Kol would pick better. "Probably shouldn't squeeze that thing to death," she pointed out motioning to the cell in his clenched hand. It wasn't going to do him a hell of a lot of good saving anyone if he squished it. "Makes it hard to receive messages," she said matter of factly as if on cue as the phone vibrated again with the two torture videos and the message, 'You know I don't like being ignored.'

The appearance of Sera at the party, you could say turned his mood around, at least that would be the case for a little while. He'd always had some of the most fun with her, their personalities mixed so well with one another. His brothers were all too extreme with their personalities it seemed to him, mostly it seemed like they could fully let loose and have a bit of fun. Of course the only stick in the mud in the whole group was Finn, even if Elijah was a bit more thought out and controlled with his idea of fun. But none of them seemed to have the Sam kind of sense of fun like Kol did. But they were his brothers. His sisters on the other hand were a bit of a different story. Beckah could be be a lot of fun, and he enjoyed getting into some micheif with her when the opportunity arose. But Sera, well it seemed at times the two of the, we're almost on the same wave length when it came to getting into trouble and he was sure no one could help him annoy Nik or the others putting on the party like she could, it had been much too long since he got into some real trouble like he use to. Well it wouldn't be his first rule breaking for him tonight but he didn't count that, it was easily fixed and hardly cause for alarm in his mind.
Kol chuckled as he heard his sister order a drink, picking up his own and taking a couple of mouthfuls. It was by far his favorite mixed drink that he’d tasted as of late, vodka seemed to taste a bit better then he remembered it tasting. Kol looked over at his sister, a glint of mischief appearing instantly in his eyes and a smile to match, before he rolled his eyes, “Its just a minor hole, hardly noticeable and it wasn’t my fault. Besides everyone knows if I’m going to willingly break a rule, destruction of the house is not my first choice.” Kol said, normally he wouldn’t even be worried about such a small little imperfection, but that was only if it was just Nik’s place which it wasn’t and he didn’t mind either of the woman his brother seemed to have somehow convinced to marry him. “If its really going to cause a fuss, I’ll fix it myself.” He added after a moment, before his train of thought went elsewhere, “And what exactly did you have in mind, sister… of course you know I’m in.” Kol said without even giving it much thought then he already had.
He’d registered what she’d said but his actual reaction time to it was a lot less quicker then it really could been while he went over the information that had just been sent through to his phone. “Someone seems to have taken Lyla and Caroline.” He told his sister his voice even as he spoke, but that all went out the window when he’d gotten the text that implying that his father had been behind it. Aside from the shock that some one had apparently gotten the bright idea to free Mikael you could say he was more or less teetering on the edge of pissed off, close to angry. “She must have, he was chained up I’d heard, usually that’s s clear sign that someone’s more then dangerous.” Kol said, clearly he wasn’t impressed by this knowledge, “How could you possibly think it would be a good idea to cut him loose, he wants us all dead. Did she somehow think her and Elijah would be exempt from that?” He kept his voice at a level that was only meant for her.
Kol released his hold on the phone and dropped it a bit carelessly on the counter top, glaring at it for a moment; turning is eyes to her when she made the little comment, “They should be made more durable.” He almost snapped as he heard the phones notification noise again and saw it vibrate on the table top. Glancing from her to the phone once again he hesitated for a moment before snatching it up quickly once again swiping the screen all in the same motion to reveal another three messages. His expression and mood couldn’t have gotten much worse then it already had, though the continuous stream of texts and the videos were certainly not helping. Kol suppressed a growl brought forth by instinct. Knowing the third message would be from Mikael read it quickly and hit the reply button ‘Aren’t these little games beneath you? So what the hell do you want with me?’ Kol hit the send button and couldn’t help the anxious feeling he got while waited for he figured another three replies.

Seraphina somehow managed to suppress a giggle as Kol mentioned it only being a minor hole. The way Charlotte had gone off, Sera had assumed it was the size of a canon ball. Always was like Charlotte to over exaggerate when things got her upset. Sera hadn't actually seen the hole, but she was more inclined to believe her brother that it was no huge matter. Besides, it was a hole, holes could be fixed. If Kol got expelled from the home for the matter, that was another story. Walls could be fixed...brothers couldn't be replaced. Too bad though, she would love to trade Finn in for a new model. Probably not best to think about your brother in the same terms you would a car, or some other inanimate object, but it was increasingly hard to think of Finn as a human being. Errr...a vampire.
"Don't worry about it. They're pissed at...Oh what's her name? Tall, blonde, reminds everyone a bit of Sage." That was Sera's subtle way of telling Kol that Lyla wasn't well liked so far. The rest of the family would have been more direct and rude about it, but Sera had always found subtlety worked so much better. Calling someone a cheap whore outright just pisses them and their friends off. Sera had taught many opinionated people that lesson first hand. She was not a cheap whore...she a.) had standards, and b.) cost more than most men could afford. "Nor my first choice...but we all know that would be rule number three." Ehh...it was actually a close tie because she could go for breaking rule one and two as well. Oh, now there was an idea for how they could have some old fashioned fun! Break rule one and two, but do it in a way that would foil Nikki's plans for world domination. World Domination, ha, he couldn't even keep order in his own house!
Taking another sip out of her drink, she decided she liked it. Vodka never had been her drink of choice, but all martinis were good right. They even made them with chocolate now! Small things still managed to amaze and delight Sera, she had never lost parts of her innocent nature. "Well brother, I was thinking something along the lines of feeding on and then killing an important guest. Pity that Gilbert girl isn't here. I would have loved to foil Nikki's plans by taking her out." Well, that and the doppelganger bitch was a pathetic annoyance, and someone needed to end her pitiful little existence. Of course, there were others here at the party that Seraphina would easily settle for, that Lockwood boy for instance. Not that she and her brother were actually going to be getting to any of that right now.
For the next twenty or so minutes, he was going to be a little preoccupied rescuing one of his damsels in distress. The night was still young though and their fun could come later. He would have no reason to suspect her of any involvement. Hell, she hadn't even decided yet if she was going to have her partners in crime tell him it was all just an evil prank. It would probably depend on how the rest of the ransom demands played out. Putting on her best expression of shock she answered her brother, "What? Why would someone take them?" That sounded convincing. Hell, if she hadn't been in on the entire thing it really would have shocked her that someone had taken Caroline, that girl was as sweet as cherry pie. Lyla on the other hand...the girl had lived a long time and no doubt accumulated some enemies.
This Mikael business really was troublesome. Right now, Mikael being back was great for her prank, but in the long run it was not good at all, not in the least. He was probably going to kill them all. She wasn't sure how he was going to do it, she just knew he would find a way. "Try not to worry too much over his release for now. Firstly, we can't be killed save for with his stake made from the tree that created us, and he only has one right? It's for Nik. Secondly, right now you need to keep a level head if you wish to do your damsels any good," she whispered in a tone low enough for only his ears as she rested her hand comfortingly on his shoulder. God this brought back memories. She had once been so calm, so ration, always helping and comforting her siblings, and then her father killed her mother. She had changed after that. Hit the off switch on her emotions and didn't look back for centuries.
"It's the 21st century dear, the industrial revolution sort of killed the need for things to be durable and expensive, now they're cheap and flimsy," she answered back sarcastically. Sera hated being snapped at, it put her on the edge and on the defensive. It was her own fault though. Her "prank" was a cruel form of torture for her brother, poor thing. Honestly, she was trying to look out for his best interests and she hoped if he ever found out he would understand. The last time two of her brothers had fallen for one woman it had torn the family to shreds. Two female vampires fighting over an original, it just wasn't going to amount to anything good. Besides, the family needed to adjust to whomever he chose to date. If they didn't approve they made life a living hell for you, Finn and Sage being a prime example. All she was doing she was doing out of love. Keep telling yourself that Sera, eventually you'll trick yourself into believing it.
Beep, went Kol's phone vibrating against the table and startling her out of her thoughts. A moment later came another message, and then a third. Huh? No, no, no she had not scripted three texts. Stupid hybrids trying to add lib. She was going to rip a head or two off later. Shit...no, she promised Nik she wouldn't do that. However, she hadn't said she wouldn't compel them to kill each other. Fantastic! She was a genius, and had she been able to read the texts she would have known the non scripted additions actually kinda worked.
OOC: Rach and I decided to skip Lyla and Care this go round. xD

Kol hadn’t been a stickler for rules, the entire family knew it, and he just knew how to break them in a way that didn’t always draw the attention to him, it kept people from breathing down his neck that way. He would really hope that it his brother wouldn’t stand for a ban on him from the house because of a simple hole. It would not put him in the bests of spirits which would most likely lead to a lot more trouble then necessary, Kol was not above raising a little hell when he didn’t exactly get what he wanted or while he tried to get something he wanted. How else were you suppose to get things, simply waiting around for them was a lot less appealing for this vampire. Besides he’d like to think that a few of his other siblings would vouch for him, surely Sera would and he could probably count on Beckah for some support, Elijah was too hard to figure out most of the time and well Kol had stopped counting Finn long before he’d been stuck in the coffin.
She may have spoken with an air of subtly to her tone and words but it didn’t quite fool Kol, it wasn’t exactly hard to read siblings at point not to mention he’d been around when he and his siblings hadn’t exactly been fond of a person another sibling was involved with in anyway. “Lyla?” Kol asked, raising an eyebrow before he rolled his eyes at the mention of Sage. “I see a couple of centuries still haven’t softened you towards our dear brother’s lovely gal… Rebekah still harbouring a grudge as well?” Kol teased her. Not that he was surprised by his sister’s opinion, he hadn’t exactly been all that fond of Sage either when Finn brought her around but he hadn’t been overly open about his dislike. “So we attract and turn pretty women, since when is that a crime?” Kol added with a shrug of his shoulders.
Kol laughed, they all knew which rule was mostly likely going to be broken by Sera, in fact most of the rules were either aimed at one sibling or the other, something he believed his brother and his two fiancées were wasting their time with since rules were meant to be broken in their family. “Yes, we all knew instantly who that rule was aimed at. You and your men Sera.” Kol said carefree roll of his eyes as he teased her. “Not that I’m any less predicable, breaking number one is always a favourite of mine.” Really what was the point in flaunting around a large group of humans mingling in your house if you couldn’t snack on a few and kill one in the process. “Honestly though is there really any harm in sleeping with a guest, I’m sure the guest wouldn’t mind.” Kol added after a moment, he wouldn’t mind breaking that rule either, actually he could easily combine three, two and one. Three bird with one stone he believed was the saying.
That wicked grin of his appeared on his lips when she mentioned exactly what she’d had in mind, his eyes travelling along the crowd as she spoke, there were a fair amount of people he supposed that could fit into that category she’d just mentioned. “Mmm, I’m sure she’d taste really good.” He mused, mostly because she was the key to their brother’s plan for whatever he wanted taking off, he’d really enjoy killing her simply to foil his brother. A little bit of payback even. Unknowingly Kol was having similar thoughts as to which guests he would like to take out first if the time arose. Tyler was definitely a priority on his list, who really said you had to play fair when you eliminated the competition though he hadn’t seemed much like competition in Kol’s eyes, his personality lacked in almost everywhere. Not to mention that it hadn’t been bad enough the guy had been a werewolf, now he was even more of a mutt. Nik’s hybrid status, though not exactly idea for Kol wasn’t something he held angst his brother, really it hadn’t been his fault that more or less fell on their mother and father but he wasn’t going to get into the business of pointing fingers right now.
Well it seemed his plans for the night with his sister had abruptly been interrupted by something he definitely hadn’t seen coming. But after he got this whole mess sorted out he’d have to blow off a little bit of steam and he was certain the party would still be around when that needed to happen, though he could easily take it out on the people who had taken Lyla and Caroline. “You’re guess is as good as mine.” He wasn’t aware of any reason any one would grab the two of them; it would seemingly have something to do with him since he doubted he’d have been contacted if it hadn’t. Either way he was not impressed and he was not fond of waiting on anyone.
Kol gritted his teeth and despite the fact that he wasn’t exactly in a calm kind of mood attempted to do as his sister instructed and keep his head level, his temper was never something he had had a large amount of control over and they all knew it. “Don’t worry about it? He appears to be the one sending the texts.” He said, his jaw still tight and voice as low as hers. “Maybe w can’t, but I refuse to get put back in that damned coffin until he finds a way.” Kol said as he let out a long breath when she mentioned the fact that he’d have to rescue both the girls, something he’d soon have to start thinking about. He relaxed his back against the edge of the counter top behind him under the touch of her hand on his shoulder, she’d always had that talent for keeping them calm, he hadn’t had that in centuries.
“No need to go getting defensive.” Kol said when he got her sarcastic reply, he’s attitude and tone was not directed at her, well not really. She only experienced it because she was the one who had been next to him when he’d received the news it had to come out to someone, nothing personal. Prior to this he’d been enjoying time back out amongst other people and if that meant spending time in the company of two women he had no problem with that, it had been fun. Now he found himself put into a position where he actually had to think about what he had actually been doing with the two of them and he didn’t exactly like being put into that kind of corner. Kol’s attention snapped back to his phone on the table and snatched it up again scrolling through the texts that had poured in, expecting some kind of answers or at least directions as to what they expected him to do next. Instead there was some simple follow up taunting as if to work him up further. if that was their plan, it was working which was easily taken from the fact that he’d nearly slammed the phone on the table top again. “When I get my hands on them…” he growled under his breath.

Time had passed and no one had come. By now the screamer people had punched her enough with the stake they had gone away for an hour for her to heal up so they could start all at the beginning. Lyla's eyes opened in exhaustion and felt a buzz on her pants. Her hands that were bloodied from trying to escape made their way back to her phone. It was marking the end of Klaus' party or probably just the time she was going to leave by. She saw the time and closed her eyes and pressed enough buttons to get it to Kol's contact and then she fainted again. As she came too she was alone again and then the scream that parted her lips as the Screamer took the phone and smirked at seeing Kol's name. "Well, lets send your boyfriend dude a message shall we?" It asked with a smirk and quickly typed the message letting her read it before he hit send.
Kol save me. If you don't I'm dead. P.S. From her attacker, it would be good if you saved one of them. This one is fun to destroy. As the masked one hit send the other drove the stake into her neck letting her yell make them back away.
Someone just had to come. This was getting to hard to bare and soon she was going to break. As soon as she got out of there she was gone and would be taking revenge on whoever was doing this. "Look bud, we got here out of it and soon she will be ready to die if Kol doesn't choose her." Both of the others nodded to the leader and turned to watch as he told them to watch the entrance. So there was a way to get out just no way for her to get out of there.
Another hour or seemed like an hour went by slowly as a long time from being tortured. She was curled up against the wall and now she was ready for the begging. "Just let me go."She begged. The Screamer shook its head and stabbed her right next to the heart.

but you're not gonna break my soul
Caroline was more than a little bit happy when her absurdly dressed captors finally left her. Looking around quickly she tried to find an exit, some glimpse of the moonlight indicating the way out. Alas she saw nothing but blackness, save for the small lamp a little way in the distance which provided her captors light. They were occupied doing something so she tried pulling at her ankle and wrist restraints as hard as she could in the hopes of breaking them. Unfortunately, with every pull she gave the deeper the vervain covered metal pressed into her flesh. Growling in frustration and a bit of pain, she tried again with similar results. Before she could have a third go at it, the screamers were coming back and she had to pretend to be up to nothing.
She was dreading those two coming closer, so she was happy when they stopped advancing towards her staying in the cover of the shadows. Breathing a sigh of relief, she looked up just as a bang resounded through the tunnels and the familiar pain of a wooden bullet hit her neck full force. Despite her previous experiences being shot with wooden bullets, she couldn't help screaming especially as she felt three more hit her; shoulder, calf, and collar bone. Why were they doing this? What did they want with her?! It wasn't like Caroline held any sort of special information or anything. If Damon was planning something against the Originals, she did not know. If this was about something other than information she could not begin to guess what. "What do you want from me?!" She growled still feeling strong enough to show some resistance. Little did she know her strength wouldn't last much longer.
Listening carefully to the noises in the cave she heard a tone, like from a phone, but her's was in the cup holder of her car. "Boss, is pissed," the first one said, and straining to listen Care heard the other ask why, but heard nothing after that. The first must have shown the second a text or something. Another beep, another text? They were being controlled by someone. Klaus perhaps? It had to be him. Caroline didn't know anyone else evil enough to do something like this. If she got out of here alive she was going to kill that original bastard. Argh, but she couldn't do that. Caroline had a secret deal with Charlotte and Sapphire. She was nothing if not true to her word.
Hearing steps near by Caroline lifted her head just in time to feel a hand make sharp impact with her cheek. The skin stung from the force of the hit. She was about to snap at her captures again as she took another blow to the face. A copper like metallic taste dripped onto her lips and she knew her nose was bleeding. Caroline suddenly felt like she might throw up. Human blood tasted fantastic, each blood type having a slightly different flavour...but she personally hated the smell and taste of her own blood. Before she had any chance to ask that it be wiped away she felt a stake being driven into her lower abdomen at full force. She opened her mouth to cry out again, but the only sound was a pitiful squeal mixed with a loud gagging. "Stop," she chocked out.
Of course, they didn't stop. The beating continued for at least four more minutes becoming more intense. After that she passed out and didn't know whether they had continued. She came to only when she felt someone slapping her cheeks. Opening her eyes a bit and trying to lift her head weakly she found they had a cell phone out again. It didn't appear to be on yet though, good, she was in no mood for this bull shit. Caroline was tired, she wanted to sleep. No, she was actually really hungry, she needed blood and soon. "Go 'way," she muttered not glancing up. It was futile to resist at this point. The screamer grabbed her face forcing her to look at his ridiculous mask. Stupid childish costume! "Behave, now tell Kol why he should save you."
Kol? What did any of this have to do with Kol? God if her entire body wasn't hurting she might be able to think properly. Certainly, Kol wasn't responsible for her being here, and if he knew she was here, she was pretty sure he already would have saved her. Of course, she could have judged him wrong that seemingly perfect day they had spent together, but she didn't really think so. Even he had said that day, she would "be perfectly safe." After all that had happened today, she still trusted he was not responsible for any of this. There was something more to the situation she was not being told, but she had no idea what. "Fine," she grumbled trying to think of what to say not that she was strong enough to say much.
The first screamer pressed a plastic shot glass to her lips, it was less than an eight of the way filled, but a few drops was better than nothing. It gave her the strength to speak, but cleverly they left her far to weak to offer any resistance. The phone's camera turned on and she kept her head down for a moment still contemplating her words. The first screamer grabbed her face again forcing it upwards and pushing the wooden bullet in her neck further into the flesh. She groaned in discomfort. God that was a terrible way to start. "Kol," her voice was soft, and tired sounding, she paused again for a second to organize her thoughts. "Second dates always did kinda suck huh?" She started off with a joke, and a rather unintentional pun. If she was going to die soon, and she was pretty sure she was, it seemed like as good a time as any to tease him about not inviting her out again. Of course, it had only been one day right? It still could have happened if not for this.
"I'm not going to ask you to save me," she said in clear defiance of what she had been told to say. The screamer not holding the phone backhanded her cheek and she tasted more blood, making another pitiful gagging noise before forcing herself to continue. "I knew when I met you, that you wouldn't hurt me, so no matter what happens...I don't blame you, so don't blame yourself." She closed her eyes feeling finished. Caroline had said what she wanted to. Even in her final moments she wanted to be selfless and tie up loose ends. Oh God, what about her mom? She was probably freaking out right now. Care had said she would be at the store ten minutes tops. Liz Forbes was probably already back in Sheriff mode sending out a search party. "My mom," her eyes flicked up to the phone again, "Tell her I love her. I wasn't always the best daughter." She rolled her eyes to try and chase away the tears she felt coming and let her head slump forward feeling weaker once again from talking.
The video came to an end and Care finally allowed her tears to come as the screamers walked off again. The salty drops stung as they dripped from her eyes and ran down her cheeks mixing with the dirt and blood. She had never really thought about dying because she already was dead right? It was just an overwhelming thought now, and she felt so consumed by all the things she should have done. Yes, she was counting her regrets until she lost consciousness again.

Seraphina was well versed in all of her siblings quirks. Over the years, it had sort of been her thing to learn everything about her siblings. Mostly it had been because she wanted to know how many Nik had already taken out. As for their personalities, she had known those since she was a child. She often used her knowledge of her siblings to her advantage though she didn't see it as taking advantage because she had given them so much during her human life, and they always got something out of her "using" them. Finn was your go to guy if you were looking for a migraine, Elijah would help you if you needed it, Aeric had the best advice, Nik was good if you wanted to go on a murdering rampage, Bekah never objected to shopping trips, and Kol was fantastic for entertainment and rule breaking. If only she had a sibling to talk to about guys. She had brought up the topic in passing with Elijah once, and he didn't seem to think she had the ability to love.
Seriously! People wondered why she was the way she was, well, it had a lot to do with her mother's death, but her siblings didn't help a whole lot. It would be nice if at least one person had a bit of confidence in her ability to be a good person again! It had happened once, it could happen again. Not that she necessarily wanted to be nice again. Being a little seductive got you your own way, and she had no problem with her er...dating style. Why commit yourself to a stupid relationship when sex could be free of strings? Speaking of sex...that rule number three was looking more intriguing by the minute, but no one here looked good enough to take to bed. "Lyla?" Kol's voice broke into her mind and she realized her mind had wandered for a moment. Lyla, yes Sera had known her name, just didn't want to say it. It just felt strange on her tongue. "Lovely? If I remember correctly you didn't like her either, and Rebekah has a gift for harbouring grudges," she answered with a grin, her finger played absently at the rim of her cup. All of her siblings were good at holding grudges come to think of it. Sera however, had a unique perspective on Sage now. If Sage came back and gave Finn a few whacks in to shape, she could tolerate the strumpet. What she could not tolerate was Finn's constant whining! Sera wanted to punch him, or worse.
Honestly, the party rules did not bother Sera at all. She had given them a once over, laughed for a good ten minutes, and then decided to forget them entirely. If she wanted to sleep with a guest, she would. If she wanted to grab someone and suck them dry, she would love to see Nik, Lotte, or Saph stop her. Of course, sleeping with a guest might be harder, she was too damn predictable. Everyone knew by the end of the night, she was gonna do it, and they were likely going to try and avert the situation. "Unfortunately, no one has met my standards...yet," she answered with a tiny wink. If Sera had a handful more strong drinks, maybe the alcohol would act like...oh what did men of this century call it? Beer goggles? Her alcohol haze was nowhere near that level yet. Looking at the large group of humans she honestly did not know how her older brother and his women expected them not to break at least one or two of the rules. "I'm sure they would enjoy it, and there is certainly a picking ground for you. Lots of pretty little things here tonight." Sera smiled at the thought. How long had it been since she had sex? Ugh, too long to remember. Never a good sign.
Elena? Taste good...Sera hardly thought so. Of course, she had only fed on evil men for the past 1000+ years so a goody-good female would be a bit of a change for her, but that statement had gotten her thinking deeply. "Do you think all doppelgangers taste the same?" Possibly the strangest question she had asked in a long time, but it was bothering her now. Lotte, Kat, and Elena had the exact same birth date, same appearance, and the same blood type. It would not be strange for them to taste the same too. Sera was about to tell him to try her for both of them if he ever got the chance, but his phone cut her short.
She could have just kicked herself for telling him not to worry about it. She hadn't meant, don't worry at all, she just meant calm down a little. Gah, stupid words never coming out right. Time for damage control. Sometimes Sera wished she had a huge eraser she could use on life, but that was a pipe dream. Wrapping her arms around her brother in a gentle hug from behind she whispered in as soothing a tone as she could, "Calm down love." It didn't do for him to get too excited, he seemed to lose rational thought and just run on instinct. Admittedly, most vampires seemed to do that not just him. "Think rationally dear. Our kind can't use the daggers and ash either, without killing themselves too so I doubt your going to wind up in a coffin again, and if you do, I will always find you." Sera sure as hell had no intention of staying and dying when Mikael really did decide to take action. Her plan was to run away at top speed to hide in her secret storage closet with her shoes. Once the dust had cleared, she would come back and try to correct matters.
"You know I get defensive when people get snappy. I can't help it," she offered weakly in her defense. She slept with many men, and was really bitchy because she was insecure and needed to know someone loved her. When people snapped at her, it just awakened the insecurities issue. She got why he was acting this way. Hell, it was even her fault he was pissed off, but she still didn't want the nasty end of his temper directed at her. Let him go on believing it was father, and when the time came to kill the old man. Kol wouldn't think twice. Already his words seemed to emulate her thoughts. Love was a powerful thing, and so was anger. "I know dear, I know. Come let's go up to my room so you can have privacy to decide what to do." And so that they did not make a scene in front of the pathetic little humans. Picking up his phone of the counter, she nudged him in the direction of the stairs and then into her room.
Plopping herself down on the bed unceremoniously, she glanced up at her brother with what she hoped was a gentle gaze. "Ten minutes isn't much time, but I doubt he will be willing to--" Her words were cut off by another beep of his phone. What the hell? Um...next message was not supposed to come until the five minute mark. Some little hybrid jack ass who couldn't tell time was going to be feeling her wrath. Grabbing Kol's phone she read the message from...what?!?! Layla's phone!! Oh no, no, no. Bad, stupid little soon to be killed hybrids. What the hell had she compelled them for. Were they on vervain or something? "Here, read away while I go powder my nose," she murmured passing over the phone to him.
Once in her bathroom, she took out her own cell and called Lyla's guards to bitch at them. Kol's superior hearing may have been a problem had Saph lifted the silencing spell on the room from an earlier prank, but she and Lotte had gotten busy. Sera was free to say anything she wanted and she went all out on them. Because they had failed to follow orders while under compulsion, they would be in a load of trouble right there. They were only useful if they were obedient. Furthermore, she was so mad she told them not to bother sending a video of Lyla pleading for her life at the five minute mark. Their little trick had stolen that chance. Oh, and Kol's ten minutes was going down to seven. She hated to do that to her brother, but she had to think as Mikael would, and he would be vindictive. Texting Caroline's guards, she got everything set up and back on track taking a few deep breaths before returning.
"Sorry, you know I hate having a shiny face." She also hated not having the right words to say, and she was almost positive no matter what she tried to say he would jump down her throat. Not trying though was not an option. "Listen, I know...I know everyone in this family thinks I don't have the capacity to love anymore, but, it isn't true. I did love once, a long time ago...trust me we haven't time for the story now, but the point is," Sera paused for a moment trying to steady her own resolve. God it was hard. It was incredibly hard to talk about her lost love because she had held it in for so long not knowing who to trust with it. "When you love someone, you just know. It wouldn't take you years of being with that person to admit your feelings. When love is true and right, you can't contain it."
She sighed deeply as his phone beeped again. At the five minute mark, cue pathetic video of Caroline begging for her life, and a text saying, 'Your little friend's trick has cost you time son, now you only have two minutes left, but you know how impatient I am.' Glancing up at Kol she waited for whatever reaction he might have preparing for the worst since he really couldn't hold of choosing any longer.

Being a close knit family for a long time before they all had to fend for themselves it was only natural that you were aware of the things that got under yours siblings skin and just how exactly you could avoid an argument or something similar with them, Kol often used his own knowledge of his siblings to irritate them slightly. Nothing too serious just enough so that he’d get a bit of entertainment out of it which was what he usually always wanted and needed, boredom was where things went down hill with him. It was why he was trying to keep himself busy since he’d been released from the coffin, though in a small town like Mystic Falls, there really wasn’t much he could get up too without a lot of people taking notice and he didn’t exactly need a lot of eyes on him. Kol would let the town put their focus on the siblings they were well acquainted with already. Even so it had been an awfully long time since he’d killed someone and he’d need to scratch that itch pretty soon, even if it was just so he could have a live source for food, this drinking from blood bags and designated people just wasn’t the same as catching your own.
Kol couldn’t help but laugh when Sera had pointed out the fact that he hadn’t been too fond of Sage. She was right, he wasn’t, he couldn’t recall anyone in the family who actually did like the woman his brother turned, not that his brother listened to any of them. There were times of course when none of them cared to listen to any advice given by their siblings. “That she does” Kol mused, Rebekah was quite remarkable when it came to grudges, not that the rest of the family was incapable of them, she just did it a bit better. “Oh you quite right, couldn’t stand her. Irritating thing, but she shut Finn up whenever she was around and I’d rather pay that small price over having to listen to his bitching.” Kol said scrunching his nose up at the idea of being forced to listen to that again, it had been one of the reasons he’d been avoiding his brother, he just couldn’t take it. “Sage, she still around or did someone finally stake her …” Kol asked seeing as how he’d missed a few decades more then his sister.
The idea that rules had been separately created for the entire original family, with a couple of specific rules for three of them hadn’t bothered him. Besides, Kol had always seen rules more like guidelines or suggestions, not things that he had to abide by. He liked having independence and didn’t care for it to be restrained by a few rules put in place to keep everyone happy. Drinking from a party guest was a lot more convenient then going to find the hidden source of blood, it was out of the way and the people they were just mingling within his reach, tempting almost so taking the ‘bait’ didn’t worry him. “Well I’m sure someone will meet your standards before the night is finished, lots of guests.” Kol said, turning his attention from her and surveying the crowd, of course she was his sister so he couldn’t necessarily say they’d be good enough for her, but he wouldn’t stop her, “If you need a distraction to you free and clear when you find someone, you know I’ll help.” He told her, though he figured she knew that, breaking rules directly or indirectly was something he didn’t think twice about. He glanced around again, taking a bit more notice this time, “I’d have to agree with that, maybe I’ll just break all of their rules tonight.”
Sera had brought up an idea he hadn’t really given much thought to though it was certainly an interesting one. “That would be a nice theory to check out, though I doubt Nik or Elijah would be eager to let us test that theory, but if given the chance, I’ll definitely sample Elena’s blood.” He told her, the idea that it would anger Nic just made it a lot more appealing, “I’m sure there would have to be some similarities in taste, everything else about them is the same.” Kol mused aloud before the phone had cut in and dragged him back to that reality.
So maybe the idea of being stuff back into a coffin for another long period of time was a touchy subject for him, but he figured it was well warranted, he hadn’t been of that coffin all that long and he’d been deprived of a lot of experiences. Yes, he’d hold that over Nic for a while he believed. Feeling her hug him Kol relaxed against her or at least he relaxed as best that he could. He nodded in agreeing to the fact that he needed to calm down and that he was trying, though he didn’t calm down as easily as he got riled up. His temper may need a bit of work. “I know, I know.” Kol told her turning slightly and putting an arm around her, her words held a bit of comfort, though the idea of being daggered again still bothered him. But he was going to try and make sure he never found himself in a situation where someone would have the ability to dagger him and he certainly wasn’t going to allow his father to kill him if and when it came to that, though he did have a bit of an advantage he know when there was a threat and when he’d have to run, survival would be his main focus.. “Thank you.” He told her quietly, giving her a little smile.
“I know, I shouldn’t have snapped at you, it’s not your fault.” Kol told her giving her a little reassuring squeeze. Sure he knew he shouldn’t have snapped at her, but there was no one else around and containing his anger and temper would no bode well for some of the closest guests too him. He’d need to take his anger out on someone and if hadn’t been there it would have been some poor unsuspecting bystander minding their own business. He wasn’t exactly sure what he would have done but it wouldn’t have been pretty. Her suggestion to go somewhere a bit more private was probably a good idea. Simply nodding he picked up his feet at her nudge and headed off towards her room, he did not appreciate the decision that he was being forced to make, nothing about the entire situation made him feel practically happy at all. The only thing that managed to do a sliver of that was the idea that he’d kill whatever captors stuck around.
When she moved to the bed, he walked through and into the middle of the room, glancing over at her as she spoke, not getting the chance to hear what she was going to finish with his eyes darted to the phone, narrowing considerably. Making his way over to her he took his phone with a nod to acknowledge he’d heard what she said and turned his back, moving to stand in front of the window in her room. Taking a bit of a breather he opened he message and listened to the video that had been sent from Lyla. Had this been his room, something would have been thrown from one side of the room to the other, but he tried to keep his temper from flying off the handle.
Turning the phone over and over in his hand repeated Kol’s focus wavered on anything in the room, his eyes staring out the window, not really even taking much notice of anything outside even though he could easily see anything he’d want to. This choice, the idea of making it unsettled him despite the fact that there had been several things in his past that he could recall with out much thought that would make someone thing he had little regard for another person’s well being. This choice between Lyla and Caroline was, well difficult even though he didn’t quite pick up on the exact reasoning behind why he was being put into this situation. Well either way, he’d be sure to make whoever he could pay.
Kol was brought out of his thoughts when he heard his sister emerge from the bathroom and caught something about a shiny face. He brought his focus back to her and turned his back to the window, leaning against its frame listening as she spoke. He cocked his head to the side as she spoke about love, he could tell this was not an easy subject for her; it proved that the family was wrong about her and love. “You must have loved him, keeping him safe and away from us all this time. It’s smart.” He told her not getting a chance to speak further on the subject another notification came through his phone and he knew after the last one this would be a similar one but from Caroline instead of Lyla, and he was right. Another video with Caroline speaking, both her and Lyla looking terrible. But the text message that followed telling him he had two minutes remaining in his choice snapped something in him briefly. A growl could be heard as he sent the table nearest him flying, later he’d apologize and replace whatever had broken but right now that wasn’t even close to being on his mind. That action did little to quench his anger but he pushed it aside as best he could and slumped against the window sill. He had two minutes, and he had to make them count.
The idea of having to chose between two people he found he cared about was not a decision he wanted to make if given hours let alone mere minutes, the only thing going for him was his ability to thing a bit quicker then a human not that it made him feel better about the entire situation because no matter how he looked at it, he had to pick one over the other. On the one hand there was Lyla, someone he known for a good chunk of his life, some one he’d changed longer ago then he could really remember. She knew him, quite well and had found him again after he’d disappeared on her, not exactly his fault but it wasn’t necessarily the point. And on the other hand there was Caroline, a complete contrast to Lyla, they barely knew one another yet they got along quite well that first meeting. She’d been dragged into a mess she had had no knowledge about, at least where he was concerned. Periodically he checked his phone, he didn’t want to see what happened when he went over his time limit, continuing to mull over his options the entire time. Taking a quick moment to review the last two videos he’d been sent before opening up his texts so he could send his reply when he came to it. Kol sighed and started typing, nothing but a single word, just a name while he wondered whether the decision he’d made was the right one, though he knew either way there would be consequences to whatever decision he’d made, a sliver of the humanity he’d thought he’d lost centuries ago shown through and he sent the one word text, “Caroline.” closing his phone and tossing it aside for the time being as soon as he’d sent it waiting for the next barrage of notifications to come from his phone.

Finn's bitching...Sera had to chuckle hearing Kol say it aloud. It was good to know she wasn't the only one who was sick and tired of their brother's constant complaining. Honestly, she was one step away from breaking his neck or something of a similar nature to get a little bit of quiet. "Indeed, Sage I could tolerate. Finn on the other hand, well, there was a good reason he was one of the first to end up in a box." If he kept up his bitching, they would all be further ahead to put him back there. Finn was a pathetic contradiction. He was pissed for being in that box for nine hundred years, and then he complained about life as a vampire. What the hell did he want from life? To magically be a human again? If it was possible, it would probably already have happened, so if that was what he was wishing for he could just bloody well forget it! "Oh, she's still alive and kicking, I'm sure we'll be seeing her any day now," Sera answered rolling her eyes. The fact that Sage had never gotten over Finn seemed almost as pathetic as his bitching, but maybe the two of them had something that the rest of them could not see.
True, she had held on to the hope of finding her lost love for a long time after she had lost him, but it did not mean she had stayed faithful or anything. Sera hadn't been in many committed relationships, she really preferred to leave things open ended. Besides, she had a terrible tendency to kill her mates. Second dates were very rare, almost never happened actually. "Lots of alcohol too, I'm sure someone will start looking good." If all else failed, she would just have to lower her standards. She couldn't not make use of the fact that Saph still had her room soundproof. Yep, she was going to have to find someone decent and see how many rules she could break before someone noticed. "I'm sure you'll have fun helping too," she answered with a devilish grin. If she was right about where his mind was going, any distraction would involve some very public rule breaking. That was what the rules were there for though right? You didn't give vampires, especially ones with natural anger issues, rules unless you expected them to be broken.
"Good luck breaking number seven brother," she said with a soft smile. If you broke all of the other rules, odds are you were having fun like rule seven said to. At least they could all argue they had obeyed one of the night's rules if nothing else. Not that she cared too much. A lot of things could happen to Saph in the future, and if she refused to let one of them in, they would probably just kill her the first chance that they got thus making the stupid "invitation" no longer necessary. Honestly, sometimes she wondered what the hell went through Nik's head. Sure threaten your siblings, that will make them real nice to the humans in the house including your fiancé. "Oh, I'm sure Charlotte would be more than willing to let you bite her if only to prove to Nik he doesn't own her. Elena on the other hand, she may offer you a lovely little challenge." Personally, Sera enjoyed a good challenge, it made you appreciate things more when you finally got them. Not that she had any real problem with having things handed to her on a golden platter, sometimes that worked well too.
Seraphina was certainly glad Kol had followed her to her room if only for the sake of the people around him. Personally, she could care less how many innocent bystanders he might have killed, her real issue was crowd control. Once he killed one everyone around was going to start screaming "Vampire!" before she could compel them to forget the incident. A stake through the heart wasn't going to kill Kol unless it was made of white oak, but she was pretty sure it would have pissed him off more and there would have been complete and utter chaos. Who the hell was she kidding? One of the few things she loved as much as shoes, sex, and shiny things was complete chaos! Sera was having a grand old time right now, she just couldn't show it.
All right, on some level, she felt a little bad for torturing her big brother like this, but that's what little sisters were for after all. Kol was no doubt used to it by now. She knew Elijah and their other brother were. Finn and Nik...well they were hard to read but she got the most enjoyment out of them because they were the easiest targets so she wasn't going to stop any time soon. Of course, this time felt different, it was probably the meanest thing she had ever done, but mean with the nicest of intentions. Ugh, she just needed to know soon who he was going to choose, it was killing her. After dealing with her hybrid issue, and coming back into the room she could clearly tell her brother was no closer to a choice than before so it was just a matter of waiting. Waiting, never had been one of her strong points.
For a moment, and only a short moment, her mind floated back to the first time she had met Gregory, her love. At that point, she didn't have the best reputation at court having already slept with the King a few times. Gregory had never judged her like the others, it was one of the things that had made her love him enough to turn him. It was a different time though, and Nik was catching up to her so she had little choice but to do what she had done. "I did love him...but I don't know how safe I kept him. Nik had caught up to me not long after I turned Gregory." She still hadn't had the courage to ask Nik if he had found and killed her mate. Part of her didn't want to know. If she thought that Gregory was still out there somewhere, it did not hurt so much. Really, that was what she was trying to avoid for Kol though no one but her would likely see it like that. She just didn't want him to end up alone because he couldn't decide. Sometimes a little pressure was good.
Finally, it seemed he reached his breaking point and the circular table by the window went flying managing to luckily hit nothing of importance, and it hadn't had anything important on it either, just Jenny's Cinderella DVD from earlier and a book, The Great Gatsby. Sera was tempted to say she had never liked that book either in a teasing tone, but decided not to push her luck as he was already pissed. Sera could feel her excitement building as Kol made his choice texting it in to the third cell Lotte had in her possession pretending to be Mikael. Her own phone started vibrating in the area she had stuffed it, and God it tickled. Reaching for it she texted Lotte back to dismiss Caroline's guards, have Lyla's guards give her a vervain injection to keep her out until Sera could get away to release her, and to send Lyla's disobedient guards to watch over Caroline.
Kol deserved a little present after the hell she had just put him through. Two hybrids to kill, that would be fun right? And they were new hybrids too, ones Kol had never met, so Sera was still free and clear. She wasn't even breaking her promise to Nik. She had said she wouldn't kill his hybrids, not that they wouldn't end up dead by other means. Hell, she was doing Nik a favour, they had disobeyed compulsion and were probably on vervain. He should thank her! Kol on the other hand...eh, he would never find out. Besides, Lotte had just texted him Caroline's location, he would be happier now and go play the role of rescuer. You'll find your love at (insert co-ordinates here) follow the tunnels. The real surprise was going to be when he got there and realized it was where they had grown up. Bekah's name was still carved in the one cavern wall.
(OOC: We decided to skip Care and Lyla this go around too...and I ran long again. Dx)

The fact that their brother seemed to do nothing but bitch about the fact that he’d been a vampire for a thousand plus years and its unnatural quality did nothing but get under Kol’s skin and he had no problem letting anyone know that especially Finn. If he didn’t quit it Kol was tempted to find a way to put Finn out of his misery for good, that was to say if the way to do that wouldn’t also kill Kol, that was always a pain, when vampire weapons were made to kill not just the intended vampire victim but the user if that person happened to a vampire as well. So much irritating red tape, especially if witches were involved. “Yes, I don’t think I would have hesitated to lock him away in a coffin for a century or two.” Kol said with a little chuckle. His thoughts were running along the same path that his sisters were, stick Finn back in the box he’d come out of not too long ago and one of their problems would go away. Honestly Finn was the only sibling he had who he didn’t understand or see their point of view on, if he’d just accept the fact that after being a vampire there was no turning back to being human he’d be a lot happier and similarly so would the rest of the family. Kol smiled at his sister’s reply, “I shouldn’t be surprised, I’m sure she’s been keeping an eye out for Finn since he got daggered. Maybe if she returns Finn will shut up.” He said, the idea of that was pleasing.
Considering the fact that Lyla had managed to track him down after quite a long time it made it even more possible that Sage would be turning up, Kol hadn’t really given tracking down people he knew from before he got daggered. “Isn’t that always the case?” Kol said taking a drink from the remaining liquid that was in his glass. Even before talking with Sera he had been planning on breaking a rule or two, especially if things seemed to die down or not be lively enough for him, though the conversation of breaking an abundance of them was much more appealing, even more so if he could accomplish it while helping her break a rule. “You know me so well.” He told her when she mentioned the idea that he’d have fun helping her out, of course he would. Kol had always found the easiest way to create a distraction was by doing something rather publically and if he was going to break a rule, well he was sure it would grab the majority of the party goers attentions, and probably Nik, Saph, or Lotte’s too, not something that really concerned him that much.
Kol smirked slightly, “Just because breaking rules is usually something I find fun, doesn’t mean it would have to be fun tonight” He told her, and if he gave it a little bit of thought Kol was certain he might be able to pull that off, at least briefly. But if all else failed he could defend himself by using the fact that he’d obeyed one rule out of the seven, something that wasn’t a bad record for him. Kol didn’t see how threatening to keep any of the rule breakers out of the house for the remainder of their lives, honestly Nik should know better then that, sure Sapphire was a witch and Kol got along with her well, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t use her to prove a point if he had to if she wasn’t alive no one could be prevented injury. Besides, Kol would see that more as getting even with Nik then a personal attack on Sapphire, not sure how anyone else would see it but he didn’t really give much mind to that. That was one of the reasons he liked Charlotte, she never took anything from Nik laying down and she gave it right back to him. “A good point, Nik would be stupid to think he owned her anyway. I wouldn’t expect Elena to be willing, that would take away some of the fun. I’ve always been fond of challenges.” He said, they were something that always kept him busy and the boredom at bay, two things that helped to make and keep Kol happy which was always a good thing.
Kol knew the reasoning why Sera had suggesting going up to her room and out of view of everyone at the party, if he lost his temper completely he’d most likely kill a couple of people who just so happened to be in his sight. Sure doing that wouldn’t be the best idea he’d ever had considering the fact that he wouldn’t be able to do much about the fact that killing someone in such a brash manner would draw the attention of everyone within fifty feet. It wasn’t like he hadn’t killed a mass of people before, just not exactly with these circumstances surrounding him, of course killing someone would definitely make him feel a little bit better about the whole thing he knew the party guests would be off limits no excuses. So he hadn’t put up any kind of argument when she made the suggestion just simply followed her upstairs, at least there he’d be able to vent properly if he wanted to.
Maybe if Kol knew the true intentions behind what was going on at the moment he might have reacted a bit differently though honestly it wasn’t easy to tell considering the fact that two people he well cared about were being put threw hell, he might not have seen her good intentions. Kol was use to the way his sister picked on him and the rest of their brothers, and hell he’d gotten back at her a couple of times, or if she’d targeted another brother he’d offered her his assistance once or twice. He enjoyed a little old fashion fun now and again, taunting your siblings was usually the best kind of way to execute it. Kol wasn’t fond of being forced into making choices, and if it didn’t appear as though both Lyla and Caroline’s lives depended on him making what might seem like a simple choice he would have been a lot more difficult to deal with. But he didn’t quite see that as an option but it wasn’t like just pulling a name out of a hat, he actually had to make a thought out choice and he was going to use as much time as that would need.
Kol had looked up from his position when she’d reemerged from the bathroom and he continued to watch her as she seemed to be thinking back on something and he couldn’t help but seem a little bit curious as to what had grabbed her attention. “When Nik got us, hopefully no one else became collateral damage.” Kol said, not exactly in the most reassuring way like he would have if he hadn’t been feeling a bit stressed out at that moment. He’d fled from the area he’d been staying in the moment he’d found out Nik had been on his trail hoping to lead his brother away from anyone he didn’t want caught in the cross hairs. He hadn’t known if it had worked since he hadn’t gotten away from Nik, getting daggered instead, though Lyla being around was a good sign to him accomplishing what he wanted by running. Though apparently, considering the state she was in at the moment it didn’t seem to have done her any good, which was one of many reasons for him being a bit pissed off.
Not too long after their little exchange of words something inside of him just seemed to snapped and he felt the need to destroy something to release a bit of that anger though the little table he’d set almost across the room didn’t do much he felt slightly better and more able to focus on what he had to do. It might have been more satisfying if something other then the table had felt more of his anger, good news for Sera though, he hadn’t actually broken anything. Now if this had been his own room, things might have turned out a bit differently and he’d have been furniture shopping the next day. Making his choice, when the final moments of his deadline was expiring he waited as patiently as he could for, he really hoped that at least someone who had helped take Caroline would be in the vicinity of where she was being kept when he got there, the need to kill someone had grown incredibly over the last few minutes.
It wasn’t very long between the text that he’d sent and the one that he received but in that small time frame he had taken to pacing, only a short distance but it kept him busy enough not to reach out and find something else to throw. Clearly patience was not one of his stronger personality traits, in fact in times where it was needed; he was barely able to exert patience. But the feeling of the phone vibrating and hearing the notification noise no longer require he wait, at least that was what he was hoping for, now that he’d made a choice he didn’t feel the need for the games to continue on being played. Scrolling to the text that he wanted Kol took a moment to read the body of the text over several times making sure he’d memorized the location, it didn’t seem like it would be too difficult to find. “I’ll be back later.” Kol said after closing his phone, a slight edge to his voice and sticking it in his pocket and heading towards her door.
