Personality: Elena is a fairly out going young woman and she doesn’t like to take no for an answer. Especially if it is a situation where she can try and get her way. She will try to get her way when she is able to. Or try to find away around the rules to make the impossible happen. She is also a very compassionate young woman who likes to have adventures as well as error on the side of caution, even when her entire life is spiraling out of control. Which seems to happen a lot lately.She keeps her family members close to her around the clock or tries to keep in contact with her brother and with the emergence of her and her love for the brothers, she will try to let them know she is alright most of the time.
Elena has a dangerous side to her as well. When someone in her family is threatened, she will stop at almost nothing to avenge them, or to find a way to make the situation better in their eyes and hers. And to take care of the party that did harm to her family or friends. Also, the softer side of her is compassionate in the way that she will sacrifice herself in order for her friends to be better or to have a better life if it means her gone. Self sacrifice is one of the qualities that isn’t the best in her but it is one of the good ones.
Background: Hello, there... I'm Elena Gilbert, Isobel's daughter, and a descendant of Katherine Pierce. I have been on this earth for eighteen years and that has always been a trouble for me. The reason is that I have been hunted by Vampires, ever since the fact was discovered that I was the coveted and sought out, doppelganger. One who could bring about the induction of the creation of hybrids. Hybrids as in Half Vampire/Half Werewolf.
Everything was quiet in Mystic Falls till a student named Stefan Salvatore started to show interest in me and my family. Then we started to get close and eventually turned into love. At the beginning it was all fun and games, till he told me that he was a Vampire and that he would do anything to protect me. Then, just when things were starting to calm down between the two of us, his brother Damon Salvatore arrived back in Mystic Falls as well. I started to spend more time at the boarding house and when Aunt Jenna started to ask questions about my time over there. I couldn't really tell her that I was spending time with Vampires, now could I?I have Brown hair, brown eyes and fair skin.
Stefan and Damon then started to fight over as too whom would get my affection, and it was cute, in the beginning. But then they started to have little quarrels and fight. That I wouldn't go for. I liked the both of them though, but how could I chose?
Then came Katerina, my ancestor. She is a piece of work. She is around 650 years old and has found out that I exist, and wishes to eliminate me to gain back the affection of the Salvatore Brothers. Problem was, is that now that I have chosen Stefan, she still wants to try and come after me even though i wouldn't give him up. Even when she could have easily chosen Damon and this would all be over with.
One of things that is always in the back of my mind is that I am constantly in danger. And that is because of the fact that I am intertwined with Vampires and other supernatural creatures. Weither by choice or by force. The next villain that came into our lives, was Elijah. This was when we first learned that Werewolves were back in Mystic Falls and that my friend Tyler Lockwood was one of them. And that Caroline also had been turned into a vampire. With everything going on, I have to always make sure that Jeremy, Jenna, and Alarik are safe. These three people, are the only remaining family members that I have by blood. For the first time, I had the feeling that I was being a burden to the both of them. And that maybe it be best if I move in with the Salvatore so that they would at least be safe and sound.
After about 3 weeks, we have finally gotten used to the frequent visits from Elijah and his goons to realize that there was an immense danger with him talking about his brother and a curse. A curse that could unleash his brothers werewolf side. And the key part is that, I am the key. My blood is the key to bringing his werewolf side out.
I was kidnapped by one of Damon's old flings, and then I was rescued and then I found out that it was only 2 weeks till the ritual. Damon was stupid enough to block any idea that Elijah had to save my life. I was listening, and so was Stefan. Anything would be better than dying. Then Damon had invited me upstairs to talk, but it was a trick. A trick to force his blood into my system, so that the elixir that Elijah had brought to me would not work, and that if I died in the ritual, I would not come back as a human, which was the entire part of asking Elijah about the Elixir, I would come back a Vampire.
My one wish was to them, that I didn't want to become a vampire. Ever. I would like to keep my humanity for as long as I can. Then the night of the full moon came, and the ritual. Stefan had taken me to the lake house to spend some time alone with him. She had learned by a text message that her friends were now safe with the help of Damon Salvatore. But the issue still remained.
Who would he use as the vampire for his ritual. As she was brought to the ritual site, ready to die. She saw Stefan try and compromise her life for his. To stop this before this went any further. Then I saw Jenna brought forward and it was like a pain in my heart had been ripped out.
When he had the ritual completed, they were about to kill him, when Elijah came and saved his brother instead of finishing the deal. I guess brotherhood is deeper than treachery. Jenna ...Oh my god Jenna...looking towards her she saw her lifeless form and that was when I was conscious again. It was just Jeremy and I left in our small family. What would happen to them now?
After the funeral, they found out that Stefan had left to save Damon from his bite from Tyler Lockwood and that he was now a slave of Klaus. She was all over the place for the longest while. Nightmares, bad dreams, and above all, a broken heart. She saw his eyes when he visited briefly for a while. They were the eyes of the killer. The ripper had returned. They searched for Stefan for weeks. With him always being a step ahead.
After a while, she started to give up when Klaus moved back into town, and so did Stefan. But he was still a slave of Klaus. When he was free however, he took Klaus's family members. They helped hide the family until Bonnie was the one whom told the location.
The next thing they knew, the last remaining coffin was opened, and they found out that Klaus's mother was in the coffin. Great. Now the original family of vampires, were running free. What next?

What made her think that she could trust an original with the truth of all things. Elena sighed as she walked towards the exit of the library and then looked to Elijah again before pushing on the handle and walking outside into the sunlight. This was not turning out the way anyone had planned, or wished it to be. She lost Stefan...And Damon...her world was falling apart. She couldn't have anymore things fall apart..not now ...not when she was so close to being free from the clutches of Klaus.
She had ruined a good thing with Elijah and she was kicking herself in side. She knew he was one of the few inside that family that she was able to trust to a certain level to the point of a vampire. Elena decided to wander into the background park of the library and sat on a bench trying to think of what to do next. At the moment she was excluded out of the loop with the Salvatore, and bonnie hated her, as well as Caroline. All she had was Matt. Her one friend that had stayed with her through and through.
She touched the necklace that Stefan gave her few weeks back and she looked downward. "What have I done?"She said bending over and put her hands together with her elbows resting on her knees trying to think of something she could do by herself to help the Mikealsons. If anything to save them from their mother.
