I think it's good except to add +5 to Bastien's strength due to his upgrade.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and take suave away as well, as Bastien chose Warrior Born instead. This post has been edited by daelrog on Nov 14 2009, 01:00 AM -------------------- Kind? Virtuous? Compassionate? You will never hear me refer myself as such, nor should you spread such nonsense.

Here we go!
I don't really have the time or inspiration for a long expository post, so please forgive me if I do a bit of infodump. The NPCs of the expedition are: Zuqini, a veteran Skink scout who knows the jungle better than just about anyone else and acts as a guide and unofficial leader for the expedition. Deadly with a javelin. Hu'izit, young scout, one of Zuqini's two companions (the other being Plix'Plox). Alfred, old but tough-as-nails boatman with a rundown barge and an ancient blunderbuss. Bert, a bulky, hairy, fur-clad woodsman who looks more like a bear than a man. Armed with a huge axe. Steffen, a convicted criminal who was offered a place in the expedition. Smelly and unshaven, he wears filthy rags and has an eyepatch over his right eye. Holga, a surly old woman, the healer and herbalist of the expedition. You can of course learn more about them by talking with them. Currently all the PCs are aboard the barge, except Plix'Plox who is scouting along the river. -------------------- |

Aaaah, magic! Yes, forgive me, I keep forgetting most of you don't have the book. No characteristic test is required to cast a spell, only a casting roll (much like in Warhammer Fantasy Battle). The casting roll is made with a number of D10's up to your Magic characteristic (1, in your case). Right now you have only the spells of Petty Magic, rather weak but with a low casting number. They are as follows. [Edit: Spells deleted, I'll PM them to you instead. Wizards do not share their arcane secrets.] There are plenty of other rules like Channelling tests, ingredients, Tzeentch's Curse and automatic failure, but let me deal with those. My general piece of advice for the novice spellcaster: Magic Is Not A Toy. Daelrog, somehow your character's missing eye sneaked under my radar... Just so you know, missing an eye in WFRP causes a -20 penalty to Ballistic Skill and sight-reliant characteristic tests. So here are your options: 1. Either you accept the full penalties, 2. You choose to have two functional eyes, 3. Or we find a middle ground (the eye is not blind, merely immobilized in its socket) and the penalty is reduced to -10. Hmm... tough call. I'd normally go with door #1, but considering that would leave him with BS 6 (which I would assume is pretty bad), option 3 seems like it can still keep with the spirit of giving my character a disadvantage without making him legally blind. How about keep the eye immobilized and make it -10BS, but also he still needs to take the characteristic tests?

Although I'll let Sentinel say for sure, I think they have te general idea. Suffice to say, my character is lying, and lying poorly. (Unless the characters really don't know, in which case his words still stand.)

Yes, they do. They were hired very quickly, but Zuqini filled them in about the matter at hand and the objective of the expedition. They don't know much more though, except that they're going to some crater lake to find some plant. I really should have written a better introduction... -------------------- |

I assumed that Thorgil knew. He's lying 'cos he figures that "I'm just following orders from some Lizardmen" will go down better with the Saurii than "I'm doing this and it's very important, do you see?"

...Gebhard doesn't like Thorgil's plans, I see.

Bug's life? Gebhard's kind of new to this type of thing. "Gibbering"? I resent that. This post has been edited by avatar of khaine on Nov 22 2009, 09:09 AM |

@Asuryan: I believe the line is said in The Incredibles
@Avatar: I don't know, 'gibbering' sounds about right as to what a grizzled mariner would think about the situation. Perhaps not the most correct term, but one that fits Sovedor's character. Of course, right now I think Gebhard has to worry that now he's the team fally guy until he can redeem himself, or someone does something worse. -------------------- Kind? Virtuous? Compassionate? Out of interest, who's in command of the expedition if the doctor isn't present?

...I honestly don't know. Zuqini was supposed to be no more than a guide, but since he's the one you rely on to survive in the Lustrian jungle and find the antidote, he also acts as an unofficial leader. He doesn't really have that much authority though. Being a Lizardman, with the strong sense of duty that this entails, he takes for granted that the New Ones of the expedition will spontaneously do their respective tasks for the good of the whole team. Right now, he's quite content to let Bert give orders. -------------------- |
