Spambot Security Measures & New Mods

So, the bots are getting out of control. Our decision? The next time you sit down at your keyboard, you will all be electronically tagged. I won't tell you which button uses the red-hot needle to insert the microchip when you press it, that would spoil the fun. Let's just say it's a frequently used letter...

Well, actually, what we are going to do is start screening new members' posts. Not the ideal solution, since it's a bit of a ball and chain for genuine new members, but I saw a bot that used pictures the other day, and we really don't want that on the site, so we have to make the compromise. The first three posts of any new member will have to be approved by a mod before they are actually posted for all to see.

To this end, we are appointing two new mods: LONC, and Spire. This is because we need scapegoats when it all goes wrong Swordsalot and I are only two people, and the old mods are not as active as they used to be, so we need more moderators in order to make sure those screening demands are processed quickly enough. As such, people who have annoyed them in the past may want to get their apologetic grovelling in early. As long-standing and respected members of the site, we hope we can trust them (although going a little mad with power is perfectly acceptable, really).

Quite right, and the fact that we are the two people who have come up with most powerful evil villains in the site's history so far is no reason whatsoever to be at all nervous. Yep, everything is fine and dandy.
