POWERS DEFINED
Here’s a list of various powers that you may want to consider when creating your character. Of course, we are aware that there are thousands of different powers out there, so if you find one that’s not on our list then chances are we’ll still be fine with it.
Please note that powers listed in black are off-limits. * a , b , c , AEROKINESIS || The ability to mentally manipulate currents of wind. Precision of this skill allows one to move objects with these forces, often to be mistaken for Psychokinetic users. ANIMATION || Ability to bring inanimate objects to life. ASTRAL PROJECTION || The ability to separate and control one's astral form. The user is able to transfer their consciousness into a 'double', which is able to traverse the physical realm without aid of the body. Often, the astral form is unable to interact with physical matter. ATMOKINESIS || The ability to mentally affect the weather. AUDIOKINESIS || The ability to mentally create and manipulate sound waves.
BIOKINESIS || The ability to mentally alter the physical body. BONE MANIPULATION || Ability to manipulate the bones in one's own body. This includes, but is not limited to, the generation of new bone mass, projecting bones out from the skin or rearranging one's own bones.
CHLOROKINESIS || The ability to mentally control plants. CHRONOKINESIS || The ability to mentally affect the flow of time. (Note; this power does not extend to Time Travel.) CLAIRSENTIENCE || The ability to physically perceive energy fields, including the 'aura' and vibrations of others. Clairsentient individuals are often mistaken as empaths. However, rather than picking up on the internal emotions of an entity, a clairsentient registers the external energy that the subject's aura is transmitting. CLAIRVOYANCE || The unaided ability to visually percept distant objects, persons, or events. This generally refers to the reception of present-time information. CRYOKINESIS || To be able to freeze things in your hands and make your body or room temperature drop. You could possibly live in Antartica with this ability. CYROKINESIS || The ability to absorb or displace thermal energy within atoms, effectively freezing an object by removing all of its heat. CYBERKINESIS || The ability to mentally control electronic devices and manipulate electronically stored data. * d , e , f , DISINTEGRATION || Ability to disintegrate matter through touch. DUPLICATION || Ability to create physical duplicates of oneself.
ECHO LOCATION || Ability to determine location of items in the environment by use of reflected sound waves, whether generated by the character or ambient sound. Also known as sonar sense. ELASTICITY || Ability to stretch, deform, expand and contract one's body into any form they can imagine. ELECTRICAL TRANSPORTATION || Ability to travel through electrical conduits (such as power lines, or telephone lines). Can enter through devices such as televisions, electrical poles or computers. ELECTROKINESIS || The ability to mentally manipulate electricity and electrical phenomena. EMPATHY || The recognition and understanding of the states of mind, beliefs, desires and emotions of others. The ability to gauge the feelings of another and indirectly make those feelings ones own. ENERGY BLASTS || Ability to expel various forms of energy from the body.
FERROKINESIS || The ability to mentally manipulate metal. FERAL || The ability to relate to a wild animal, most commonly a wolf or feline. Goes hand-in-hand with shape-shifting. * g , h , i , GRYOKINESIS || The ability to mentally manipulate gravitons and gravitational fields; the forces of gravity or its effects upon an object. By using their power over gravitational repulsion and negation, individuals with this ability may also be capable of levitation.
HYDROKINESIS || The ability to mentally manipulate water in its solid, liquid and gaseous forms. HYPNOKINESIS || The ability to mentally send an individual into a trance-like state, and/or mentally manipulate an entranced individual via hypnotic suggestion.
INVISIBILITY || The ability to render oneself invisible or completely transparent to the naked eye, without the manipulation of light. * j , k , l , KINETIC ABSORPTION -Ability to absorb forms of kinetic energy into oneself and convert it into physical strength.
LYGOKINESIS || The ability to generate and/or manipulate raw energy, which can then be used in a variety of ways. * m , n , o , MAGNETOKINESIS || The ability to manipulate all forms of magnetic and electromagnetic fields. MEDIUMSHIP || Ability to see and communicate with dead/spirits MOLECUKINESIS || The ability to mentally manipulate molecules, to control molecules that make up anything that exists, and change or rearrange them into another form.
NYCTOKINESIS || The ability to mentally repulse photons to create shadow or darkness, or to psychokinetically move objects via shadow. Also, the ability to create constructs out of shadows by use of their 'dark' energy.
OMNI-LINGUISTIC || Ability to understand any form of language, a natural polyglot. This can be accomplished in various ways. * p , q , r , PHASING || The ability to pass through solid matter. This is done by passing one's atoms through the spaces between the atoms of the object through which one desires to pass through. PHEROMONE MANIPULATION || Ability to generate and control pheromones which may have various effects on another’s emotions. PHOTOKINESIS || The ability to mentally manipulate photons to create beams of intense light. Particles of light can also be affected in order to render the user invisible to the naked eye. POSTCOGNITION || The ability to visually perceive information about the past of an individual without directly observing the events. Often includes observation of the distant past of both oneself and others. POWER NEGATION || Ability to cancel the superpowers of others. POWER SENSING || Ability to sense or recognize superhuman powers. PRECOGNITION || The ability to visually perceive information about future events and phenomena before they occur. PROBABILITY MANIPULATION || Ability to alter probability, causing unlikely things to happen or likely things to not happen. PSYCHOKINESIS || (also known as telekinesis) The action of manipulating physical material with the mind by either mental intention or activity. Individuals who possess this ability are often able to manipulate not only inanimate objects, but living organisms also. Thus, individuals with this ability may also be capable of levitation. PYROKINESIS || The act of exciting atoms within an object to generate enough energy to ignite said object. The capability of igniting gases within the air to produce flames.
RADIATION MANIPULATION || Ability to generate, manipulate or have immunity to toxic radiation. * s , t , u , SONIC SCREAM || Ability to generate vocal sounds of a higher amplitude than a normal human. SUBLIMATION || Ability to transform into a gaseous, mist, or fog-like form. SUPER HUMAN STRENGTH || Ability to have a level of physical strength much higher than that possible by a human being. SUPER HUMAN VISION || Ability to see better than normally possible.
TERRAKINESIS || The ability to mentally manipulate the earth. Terrakinetics are known to be able to exert extreme amounts of energy that can cause earthquakes. TELEPATHY || The ability to communicate mentally, rather than with speech or body language. Telepaths are often able to register the thoughts and read the minds of others. TELEPORTATION || The ability to move from one place to another almost instantaneously, without passing through the intervening space. The user often has a limited scope of spatial awareness which stops them from teleporting into solid matter, however this awareness diminishes relatively to the distance the user is teleporting. The process of teleportation often puts tremendous strain on the user, and thus only the very experienced are able to carry additional mass with them. THERMOKINESIS || The ability to mentally manipulate temperature. TOXIKINESIS || The ability to mentally manipulate spores, sludge and pheremones, including acids. TRANSMOGRIFICATION || The ability to change one's form or shape without outside influences, whether it be voluntarily or involuntarily. This change is often on a genetic level, thus affecting the DNA of the shape-shifter.
UMBRAKINESIS || The ability to mentally repulse photons to create shadow or darkness, or to psychokinetically move objects via shadow. Also, the ability to create constructs out of shadows by use of their 'dark' energy. * v , w , x VITAKINESIS || The ability to mentally rejuvenate damaged or aged body tissue on a cellular level.
WALL CRAWLING || Ability to cling to objects or surfaces by a variety of means. WATER BREATHING || Ability to breathe through water in lieu of a gaseous medium. Not to be confused with an ability to go without breathing or to be able to breathe an alternate air supply. WEATHER MANIPULATION || Ability to control or mentally affect the weather. This includes the ability to generate various natural phenomena (rain, tornadoes, lightning, ocean currents, etc.) or control the intensity of the weather.

Revolution Academy has been up and running since September 2005. Our members are dedicated to telling a story rather than just engaging in drama and we pride ourselves on giving them an environment in which they can do so. We are an intermediate board and, as such, ask for 350 words minimum per IC post. Our main aim is to provide a fun place where people can work on and, hopefully, perfect the art of writing and are more than willing to help anyone who truly wishes to improve and become part of our game. Blood is being shed, and there’s no telling who will continue standing where they initially rose. Some will change sides after a revelation, while others will remain headfast and steady. The mutants had harbored no ill will toward human kind, though there are rumors that they will longer take the insults any longer. They once desired peace and harmony, where both races could be considered as equals.
Now they want revenge.
Nights are getting longer and the days are getting colder as New York finds itself hurled into the depths of WINTER. Forecasters as predicting a particularly cold one this year with more than its fair share of snow, rain, sleet and ice that brings with it the promise of a white Christmas. But don’t forget to wrap up warm, we wouldn’t want you missing the seasonal festivities!

It has to be said we’ve all been eagerly watching this pair of fuzzy blue folks wondering how they’re going to cope with each other presences at the academy... And whether anyone is going to complain about all the blue fur blocking the sinks. Great work so far guys, we can’t wait to see more!
