It’s the time of the year when the staff start to plan what’s going to be happening over the next six or so months and, this year, there are a number of things that we would like some input on; 1. STUDENT & JXM CLASSES : For some time it has been our intention to occasionally run these classes in IC threads but due to fluctuating membership it’s been hard to find a class group with enough active players to make such a thread viable. One idea that we’ve come up with is to decrease the number of classes open to characters, hopefully meaning the number of classes that we keep will always have enough active players for threads. Is this something that you guys would like to see in the future and are there any particular classes that you would like to keep?
2. STUDENT SQUADS : This is something that we’ve tried in the past and would at some point like to try again and would like to know if it is something that players would be interested in participating it. Also if you have any ideas we’d love to hear them.
3. UNAFFILIATED MUTANTS : As of yet we don’t have any solid ideas for this user-group, so if you have any ideas then let us know.
4. NEW USER-GROUP : We’re currently discussing adding a new user-group and while I can’t really give you any real details, I can tell you that they will be based outside of the school like the unaffiliated mutants. However before we finalise any ideas we want to make sure that there will be players willing to play more characters that exist independently of the school.
Also should this new member group come into play there will be a change made to the board rules regarding characters; players will be allowed to have up to three original characters providing that they are all in different user-groups. Is that something people would be interested in?
5. JUNIOR X-MEN : Again, this is something that’s been effected by fluctuating membership and people dropping characters. One suggestion has been that we keep the junior X-men, but until we have a full squad of them, perhaps some how incorporate them into student squads. While we’re not entirely sure how such a thing would work as of yet, we’d like a bit of feedback regarding the idea.
6. THE BOARD ITSELF : Are there any areas that you would like to see on the boards? Is there anything that you think doesn’t work? Also, what are your thoughts on the plotting area?
7. ANYTHING ELSE : Do you have any thoughts or ideas pertaining to something that’s not been mentioned? Please don’t feel like you have to comment on everything, just the things that you have thoughts/feelings on that you would like to be known. Also, remember, you must have posted here in order to meet the requirements of this months Roll Call.

1. STUDENT & JXM CLASSES: After playing a teacher character on a “high school” site I have learned that running classes on any board can be hard, but the slower the average poster is, the harder it is to run a class, we made this SLIGHTLY easier by dropping maximum class size down to five students. Even then it was a near nightmare just to complete ONE IC class period. We could do it but believe me it was challenging for the less active teachers. After a year or so of trying we did make some head way by the addition of this rule “All students had 48 hours to post once their turn in the order arrived Else they were skipped” and the only way that worked was that the teachers had to PM the next student down the list. This worked moderately well for the class I was running, but even though I had the best results it still took a bit to complete each school day. Sadly I have no input on most of the Question as that I haven’t had to think about it because Nick is not yet a student.
2. STUDENT SQUADS: Hmmm squads? Fill me in .. everyone should know by now I love any excuse to post anywhere
3. UNAFFILIATED MUTANTS: This is a hard thing to answer. We are neither good nor evil. Some of us (ME) could very easily swing either way, but as a whole, I am not sure the group NEEDS any special perks. Obviously, it would be nice if we had an easier time getting in on other plots, but I think all of the nonaffiliated know an x man. and those of us that don’t did sign up knowing that we are on an X-Man board, and are not going to be the easiest characters to throw into other plots….
4. NEW USER-GROUP: I like new groups? And if it’s a villain Group I am SO down. And if its not I am still likely SO down, hmm this reminds me, I need to work on that second character App still.
5. JUNIOR X-MEN: I don’t think Squad numbers should matter for keeping the junior’s. after all its not like all the majors go on every mission in the comics, therefore you can use that as an excuse to filter juniors into the majors ranks for things, and or just send in smaller junior squads. As of yet I have not seen any major world evils, or devastating wacko’s attacking. Therefore I cant say we need the really worry about the size of the squad since they are not all out fighting Juggernaut, after the real X-Men went to Pango-Pango for a vacation. AND if it does happen then Damn, sucks to be a junior X-Man that day. But I bet the players drafted for the mini plot would still LOVE it, after all unfair odds, and a high chance of being hurt make for a great story.
6. THE BOARD ITSELF: I think if anyone has read all of this, they might see a pattern. “Can we has bad guys?” so asked the scared lol-cat inside me. Don’t worry its not that I think the forum needs a major villain party, I just like Havoc and mayhem.
7. ANYTHING ELSE: nope that about does it for me!

And here we go... STUDENT & JXM CLASSES;;While I love the concept of changing classes around, dropping some and overall evening out the statistics for the basis of IC game play, some classes that get dropped will affect characters. While I don't mind the drop in classes I know that there are some characters that are better suited to certain areas of study rather than being normal teachers. I don't have a problem with it, but I have no idea what classes to tell you to keep or what classes to drop. STUDENT SQUADS;;Only effective if we have enough students. And if we have enough students, we need X-Men that are capable of handling a squad and capable of giving it the best attention that it needs. I would suggest either making all JxM into students, or all students into JxM because one way or another they get trained in using their powers. From what the comics told, however, the JxM were not a specialized group of students that qualified: they were the oldest and the most seasoned of the students. Everyone got a taste of reality in the life of an X-Man, some just decided whether or not it was, or wasn't, for them. UNAFFILIATED MUTANTS;;Considering the premise of the board is centered around Revolution Academy and not to branch out to the outside world so soon, Unaffiliated Mutants are not necessary. Having mutants in this group leaves little open to game play when it comes to interactions among students as most of them remain on the school grounds regardless of what time of the year or day it is. I know it's not hard to get someone involved with an Unaffiliated Mutant, but there are hardly any plots that can incorporate these "neutrals" effectively. NEW-USER GROUP;;I know a few details on what this group is, so I'm gonna leave that alone until it's all hashed out. My opinion doesn't change about it, really. JUNIOR X-MEN;;Increase the numbers of the group by increasing the students you put into them. Don't make it selective; give everyone a chance at Junior life. Much like they do for the National Reserve in the military. Like, once or twice a month over the weekend everyone gets a little taste. If they're needed, the X-Men call them in as assistance and back up. Wouldn't hurt to let all of the kiddies get their feet wet, no? THE BOARD ITSELF;;Lovely. The text is a bit hard to read when making a post in the text area, but it's tolerable. I do think the plotting area should go back to the way it was, where we were capable of making a multitude of threads depending on what time of the year it was and if ours got pushed back too far. Having it too organized looks almost...I don't know...messy? Having one solitary board that we just clean out every now and again means less work and more game play, and you don't have to feel like you need them all prettified. That's why we have the Relationships board, actually, is to keep track of fanciful pages and our characters friends. But yes, the board doesn't seem to need any work, except that I totally wanna see a sub-plot involving District X. ANYTHING ELSE;;Not really. I don't see much that needs to be talked over that wasn't already addressed.

1. Can't say much about what classes to keep and what not to, since Keegan isn't a student or has anything to do with the school at this point. However, because people seem to come and go, it might have to be done. 2. I like the idea of student squads actually, kind of opens up more. Brings the youngins into the mix of more then just their school lives. 3. Sad, my character's group and I have no cool ideas at the present time, but if one comes through, I'll throw it out there. Phydoux does make a good point though; Neutral mutant plays knew what they were going for, so there isn't really a need for anything. 4. That is definately eye catching and a pretty cool idea. Can give people more options for characters and new ideas for plots. Simply put, very interested in this one. 5. Maybe the Junior X-Men could be the squad leaders of the student squads, since their age would make them more experienced. That way, each learns from the more experienced, instead of just the juniors learning from the X-men, and the kids only learn academically. 6. No points of my own, but I do agree with AJ about the text and the threads. For the most part, I'm content with the workings of the board. 7. Like number three, I have nothing really to add or suggest, but something comes up, I'll let you know.

I really wish I could be of more help, but I haven't been a member for very long. I tried to come up with some good suggestions, so... I hope this is ok!
1. STUDENT & JXM CLASSES : Well, as far as this goes... I wasn't actually entirely aware that there were classes. There's my spectacular observation skills for you. Haha. So, I'll look into that. I can see where it would be difficult to keep a class thread going, since posts take a while. Maybe it would work better as a chatplay class type thing? I know those don't take much skill or anything, but, I dunno. It would definately make it easier to get things done. Also, we could try doing private lessons? Ok, final thing: Could we maybe have a thread where it shows who all is signed up for what classes, etc?
4. NEW USER-GROUP : Sounds good! I'm not sure if I would take new characters, since I have four on another forum and I'm busy with school. But you never know. I'm always all for stuff that adds new plot ideas.

Thanks! But that leads to another question. Haha, there are always questions with me.
Mmkay, so, in my app, I had Kurt listed as a teacher, since, well... He can't really do much else at the school, haha. But the class timetable is pretty packed. Should I change it in his app to say he's there for some other reason?

At the moment I’d say just leave it. We’re currently in discussions about completely changing the class system, so we’ll probably ask X-men players if they want their characters as teachers once we come up with a new and workable system.
I mean, it’s not really hurting anyone, right? =D

1. STUDENT & JXM CLASSES : I love the idea of having some class threads. I'd love to see some of the characters approaches to classes. Especially Sophia. I mean who wouldnt love to see Sophia teaching her drama class. But thats not the point in question. I think that it would make sense to reduce the number of classes to help give the chance of a class thread being plausable.
2. STUDENT SQUADS : I wouldn't mind having another JXM thread the last one was quite entertaining. Then again, my choice of characters aren't exactly the most useful ones in a danger room simulation. Hayley cannot manipulate hormones of someone that doesnt biologically exist, the same as TJ cannot possess them. Then again they aren't JXM either. Although I have been thinking of upgrading Hayley to JXM status.
5. JUNIOR X-MEN : I think that incorporating the JXM into the student body is a logical choice until we have a larger JXM group.
With that three original characters, if there was a new group added. would that increase the character limit to 4?

No it would still be 3 characters per player, only if they are all in different user groups (e.g. a student, an x-man and an neutral mutant) then they could all be original characters.

STUDENT & JXM CLASSES;;
So far, I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
UNAFFILIATED MUTANTS;;
An interesting experiment, but one that perhaps needs rethinking/retooling. Perhaps adding some organization would help.
JUNIOR X-MEN;;
Honestly, still a bit murky about the concept, how one gets out of this group/gets promoted/etc. Just looking for clarity. Other than that, stay the course.
THE BOARD ITSELF;;
Only issue I have is how often the look changes. Other than that, no complaints here!

3. UNAFFILIATED MUTANTS : I agree that these characters are hard to get into plots and the likes but I think like people have mentioned before we knew what was going to happen when we created the characters and so we knew what we were expecting.
Plus I'm also sure there are some plots that could incorporate the neutral mutants, even if it was something like a plot made for the students and staff at RA that happened to be taking place outside the school walls because they could surely join into such a plot if they weren't going onto school premises. After all like Nick said many of them could be going either way when it came to good or bad so those would obviously have personal opinions based upon what was happening and still stand with the students or against them depending what was happening without actually being a student themselves.
4. NEW USER-GROUP : Hehe again like people have said before if this is an evil group then Jake would most likely be willing to join it when it started up because his views on justice are quite dark and they would easily be able to appeal to his no mercy ideals which is one of the main reasons he wasn't an x-man. So yeah I'd so be down for helping out with a new group and such once finding out what it is :P
7. ANYTHING ELSE: I'm all done with my comments now, thanks!

1. I can understand the decrease of classes, but I think that there should be a rotation of the classes, at least maybe once every four to five months to keep things fresh.
2. It would be interesting to see a new student squad, sort of like an underground group that is only summoned by the administration.
3. I was thinking about maybe a couple of them, just to cause some trouble around the school.
4. I don't know if that would work, seeing that the cast is still in a state of flux. However, it's your decision.
5. The JXM should stay, especially if you can add a few new members to it to keep it interesting.
6. The board itself has been fine. No changes are needed for it.
7. Nope. Thanks, and have a great day.

- STUDENT & JXM CLASSES: Well, you could post a thread/poll to see which classes the members think are worth keeping. I would say that we could voice our choices here, but there has been so many posts already made that it wouldn't be fair. [x I don't know, really... As a teenage, High school student, myself, I would love to say "FUCK SCHOOL/CLASS". xD
- STUDENT SQUADS: I don't have a student character handy, however, I do like this idea. I could see this being the answer to numero uno - making it into a class. In this class, they will learn skills from how to work together to survival. I'm sure plenty of students would be willing to take this class. Maybe even make it a mandatory class to take? Gosh, I don't know. xD
- UNAFFILIATED MUTANTS: I don't see much need for them, really. But, then again, I don't have one. So what do I know?
- NEW USER-GROUP: WTFYES, I'd be down. Although, I don't think I'm ready for multiple characters again, just yet. So I'm the wrong person to ask. /:
- JUNIOR X-MEN: Honestly, I don't see the problem with a limited supply of JXM. As fun as forcing these hormonally unstable teenagers to work together is, I can see the group as more of a back-up kinda deal. Whenever the X-Men decide to, they could have a couple JXM tag along on a mission or something. Also, being a JXM would require you to help out in the STUDENT SQUAD classes I was talking about up thurrr ^^^^^, as a TA or something.
- THE BOARD ITSELF: Personally, I like the plotting area. I haven't yet used it myself, but there's nothing terribly wrong with it. Also, as if we don't have enough places around here to fool around in, an Alternate Universe forum would be laughable (no, not the event forum, but something like it). I've seen it in play on some other boards, and I have to say, it looks pretty fun. Its a little forum (like, I suppose it would go under "THE WORLD ABROAD" category) where members are free to start open/closed, B.S. threads (with no set IC post count) where they can allow their imaginations run wild! For example, I could start a thread where everyone was still in their adolescence and Genevieve held a pillow fight contest in her room for the night and everyone was invited. Or maybe you could make a thread where every character (or however many were involved) were of the opposite sex. Basically, anything would go! But it would be for pure, childish funsies. Like I said, they could be 200 word posts set in silly little universes. But that's just a suggestion, in case anyone else thought it to be a fun little idea.
- ANYTHING ELSE: That is all.

Revolution Academy has been up and running since September 2005. Our members are dedicated to telling a story rather than just engaging in drama and we pride ourselves on giving them an environment in which they can do so. We are an intermediate board and, as such, ask for 350 words minimum per IC post. Our main aim is to provide a fun place where people can work on and, hopefully, perfect the art of writing and are more than willing to help anyone who truly wishes to improve and become part of our game. All in all we are a friendly board with friendly members and helpful staff, so if this sounds like the sort of place for you, don’t hesitate to join up or drop us a line in the c-box.
When signing up please select a first and last name and use proper capitalisation. Anything that deviates from this will be deleted without notice.
Blood is being shed, and there’s no telling who will continue standing where they initially rose. Some will change sides after a revelation, while others will remain headfast and steady. The mutants had harbored no ill will toward human kind, though there are rumors that they will longer take the insults any longer. They once desired peace and harmony, where both races could be considered as equals.
Now they want revenge.
Nights are getting longer and the days are getting colder as New York finds itself hurled into the depths of WINTER. Forecasters as predicting a particularly cold one this year with more than its fair share of snow, rain, sleet and ice that brings with it the promise of a white Christmas. But don’t forget to wrap up warm, we wouldn’t want you missing the seasonal festivities!
November 24th 2009 • Be sure to get your reservation sent for our New Year's Eve Masquerade Party! Masks are assigned in order of first come, first serve, so don't be late.
November 11th 2009 • The event has now closed. You can read the conclusion here. We’d like to thank everyone who took part and hope you enjoyed it. All IC event threads have been archived and can be located using the Events Index.
October 23rd 2009 • Roll Call for October/November is up! You can find the thread here. In order to fulfil the Roll Call requirements you must also reply to this thread.

It has to be said we’ve all been eagerly watching this pair of fuzzy blue folks wondering how they’re going to cope with each other presences at the academy... And whether anyone is going to complain about all the blue fur blocking the sinks. Great work so far guys, we can’t wait to see more!
