NIL?, A sign with the word NIL

A few minutes ago I played SCP-087b and for the first time encountered a sign (same as the others with numbers) that had the letters NIL. I took a screenshot of it, i wanted to minimize the window to save this screen shot in case there might be something new to encounter but I didn`t fearing that might close the game and decided to proceed i founded my self at the floor 27 and there split hallways i took right turn and saw a hole, up on turning back and stepping way from the hole "don`t look at me guy" appeared but he was different and he wasn`t animated (meaning he was frozen and moving towards me without and walking animation) i couldn`t get away so i stood there and died.
Any ways the "NIL" sign was after floor 22 then after the "NIL" sign came sign 24, it seems the sign 23 was replaced by the word "NIL"

Have any of you encountered this and what does it mean?

I encounted this second time i played it, getting the split hallway streight after then the loud bang noise happend and i died

Same here. I encountered the "NIL" thingy about 4 times. And, usually 2 or 3 floors later, something would happen. That's what I experienced.

i died on 27th floor that's what happend...
i've read the page of scp-087 and there is no where the word "NIL" to be mentioned...

SCP-087 and this (SCP-087- are two different things. SCP-087 does not have hallways like this one does. SCP-087 (the original stairwell game) is a pretty close match to the document, while this is mostly based on SCP-087, but the developer changed it, so instead of just stairs, hallways lurk.

I meant SCP 087 B, don't know why it replaced the "B" in my post with an " " .

It made it into a smiley cause you used a ) after the B. Using B and ) together is the shortcut text for the face.

NIL is a zero amount, no amount in programm languages. There also signs with words NO, STOP instead of number. So that just the last sign before epic final. (I don't saw that by myself)

I saw that someone came to a hallway about 140 levels down (i think) where it was a smileyface ( : ] ) on the sign, and he got trapped by the monster and died. Then, after the game quits, there was a error box that said "welcome to NIL"

I think the developer is having fun by scaring us with this

Also, two days ago at my school, my friend got down to level 22 or something, then the next sign said 76 and he got killed by the monster.

I think NIL only occured for me when i got to floor 7, then when i walked down the hall i came across the twin halls and looked on the sign on the left and it was NIL.

It's just one of the things with the signs.
First Time I saw NIL was at school with a friend. A few floors later the monster teleported in front of me. Scared me, I had to close the game for "disrupting the class"

Its not a thing with the signs themselves, its a problem with the floor no. calculations

Also the no animation thing was normal, regalis forgot to make him play the animation
