Title: Kickstarter?
Description: Have you considered a kickstarter?
orbital667 - July 14, 2012 01:43 PM (GMT)
After spending some time on scp wiki and then discovering this game I find it hard to believe you haven't gotten a kickstarter going! I would kick some $ in to this, I'm sure you could get dev cash quick for something like this.
There is SO much source material...
*if this is old hat I apologize, when I try to search forums i get an error 403

What the hell is a kickstarter?
Anyway, there's already a donate option on the home page.

Yeah, would totally work! If it... uhm... Didn't start an angry mob of massive proportions. A while back I made the mistake of talking about SCP related kickstarters in the SCP Foundations chatroom. It did not end well.
There are many people in the Foundation who are extremely protective of their work, despite the Creative Commons.
The Donate button is just fine, you can donate as much as you want to Regalis. Just uhm... A Kickstarter would start a war. Just sayin'.
And Slagar... I am disappoint.
Here

Slagar, a Kickstarter is a crowd funding website for creative projects.
This is an excellent idea man.

Again! We can't do it without starting a huge angry mob. The Foundation will boycott the game if people try to fund it. There are people who want to boycott it just for the fact that Regalis accepts donations.
It can't happen unless you want much of the Foundation community to become pissed at all of us.

How do you boycott freeware?

Flooding that game's forums with trolling, using bad words, swearing to never play the game, threatening you with going to hell, and the worst of all, telling you they don't like your game, until your morale is so low that you cease development.
I thnk it would be something like that.

Huh, never knew that the foundation site was so hostile towards something like this.
Pajaking - July 15, 2012 01:46 PM (GMT)
The foundation?
Balls to the foundation.
It is just a site where imaginary objects are enlisted.
What is the foundation?
WE DONT KNOW

Some of the people there are protective thundercunts and some are incredibly lax. Everyone seems to like Containment Breach however, so maybe they wouldn't be too up in arms.

Just do something small if you want to, like putting SCP: CB as a link on your steam page, or mentioning it on youtube as response. Or telling your friends, because those are free things and people who want to can donate can, because as more people are attracted to the game, more will donate because of statistics and all that, so just mention it to your friends and such and then they mention to more until hundreds talk of SCP: Containment Breach!

The SCP Foundation... You know, the community that created the SCPs
Pajaking - July 16, 2012 07:47 PM (GMT)
The monsters are their idea, but its regalis' game.
Why should they care about this?
