How do find out if my rabbit is showable?, pet or showable?

Hi, I'm really new to owning rabbits. I recently got a rabbit from a lady(for free). She told me that she was a pure bred but offered no proof and also said that she got her from a local breeder. I live in clarksville, tennessee and I have been searching for a local breeder but cant find one. How do i go about finding out if Bella is purebreed or not? I have no proof at all from the lady, she had gotten her for her daughter and her daughter didn't like her, so she just gave her away. I know that this is kinda a wierd question. I think that she is a Broken Mini Lop. She weighs 6.18 lbs. Any help would be wonderful and thank you for looking at my post. I'll be posting pics of her soon. I just love her to death.She is so sweet and very brave. Loves to run the cat and dog around my room(no worries dogs always muzzled and watched very closely and hes scared of her) its just so cute.

If she is indeed a purebred Mini Lop I do belive she is over weight I think per ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders Assoc) there top weight is 6.5lb so if she is 6.18lbs she is infact 7.02lbs (Is that right I am not a math person) so she is overweight. If you want a critique of her type post a picture of her in the critique section of the forum and other mini lop breeders will tell you what they think of her but do try and pose her per the breed standard to get the best critique.

Hey! There is no way to prove an animal is purebred, unfortunately. If she looks close enough, you can show her in ARBA shows (shoot, you can show her if she doesn't even look close, but that would be a waste of money).

I definitely wouldn't breed the animal though.

I live in Christiana, TN and I raise Holland Lops and Netherland Dwarfs. There are rabbit breeders in TN but not alot have websites. Your best bet is to go to a show. Good luck! I agree with the others that there is no way to tell if a rabbit is purebred unless you yourself bred that rabbit.
