LORNAH LANE : lornah lane was named after the late lornah hefferson, the founder of the happy valley neighborhood. all of the houses on this lane were built as contemporary houses, meaning they are generally very “modern”. they are somewhat oddly square, with tall, wide windows all around the house. they usually only have one floor and occasionally a basement, but they are good for the small families, married couples, or singles. the homes on lornah lane generally have 2 – 3 bedrooms.

COBB ROAD : when you first drive by the happy valley neighborhood, these are the first homes you’re likely to see. they’re ranch style housing, which means they are long houses with one story to them, and from the outside have a very homey feel to them. ranch houses are placed on larger chunks of land, so they have a nicely sized back and front yard, with, depending on the preference of the owner, a two car garage. most ranch houses have 3 – 4 bedrooms, so they’re good for larger families or small families hoping to expand.

LEWIS DRIVE : these are the main homes you’ll see when you first turn into the neighborhood onto lewis drive, and they are definitely notable houses. all the houses on this road are southern colonial style, meaning they have that somewhat old-fashioned look to them, painted white with shutters and rounded windows upstairs, and occasionally pillars framing the front porch. these are usually larger houses, with two stories and anywhere from 3 – 5 bedrooms in them. they’re best for average sized families that expect occasional guests, but not one of young kids, due to the fact that they often happen to house antique items.

WOOD COURT : houses down this road are definitely some of the most unique looking, and they have a very rural look, being spanish colonial style homes. they have small windows, are one story, and are made of adobe rock, making the walls very thick. these houses are very durable, and they have from 2 – 4 bedrooms. while they may be small, never doubt them! they have nicely sized yards, making it a very family-oriented home.
