Zipping her bag closed, Iseul stood at the foot of her bed mentally running a checklist to make sure she had everything. Her company was allowing her an overnight visit home to see her parents, and she couldn’t be more excited. She was already excited to begin with, but now she was even more excited, because Sung Il would be going home with her. If this had been a month ago, it wouldn’t have been a big deal that Sung Il was going with her, but now that he was her boyfriend it kind of was. The two of them hadn’t told their parents about the new development in their relationship quite yet, and were planning on crossing that bridge when it came. And that bridge would have to be crossed today once they got off the train and Iseul’s dad picked them up, and took them home. Well perhaps not. Both of their mothers would be significantly disappointed that Iseul’s dad, of all people, was the first one out of their parents to find out. So maybe that could wait until they got to her house, where all four of their parents would be waiting for them.
Nodding to herself, Iseul stuffed her phone in her pants pocket, and slung the overnight bag on her shoulder. Heading out the door, she closed it behind her, and locked up. She went down the hall to the stairs, and out the door. The two of them had previously agreed to meet at the bus stop, but Iseul had managed to get ready considerably early and decided to head over to the drama dorms so that the two of them could head over there together.
Iseul blushed slightly as she walked, thinking about the last time she had been in Sung Il’s room. It was three days ago, on Wednesday, when she literally fell asleep in his arms and woke up lying next to him in his bed. At the time she hadn’t thought much of it. They had known each other since they were little, and she’d never seen anything wrong with the two of them sleeping next to each other before, but now that they were together, it almost seemed wrong. She didn’t care though. Iseul loved being next to Sung Il, and she loved how warm he felt next to her. In the moment, three days ago, Iseul looked up at him and kissed his cheek softly before scooting closer to him and falling asleep again.
There were no words for how much Iseul loved Sung Il, and the multitude of emotions that came with being in love with him for so long. And as painful as it had been to see him for the first time after knowing he’d been avoiding her for eleven days, and how bad she felt for intentionally hurting him, she was glad it had happened, because if it hadn’t, today wouldn’t be happening. If he hadn’t come up to her and spun her around, she’d be going home alone today, instead of going with him to tell their parents they were dating.
Smiling happily as she opened the door to the drama dorms, she saw another first year give her a weird look, to which she responded by smiling even more and waving. The person gave her a shocked look, and waved back at her in a daze. Since they hadn’t really told anyone other than their close friends at they were dating, most of the people who knew Iseul was a bitch were quite.....stunned at her sudden wave of niceness. But it wasn’t so much that Iseul was suddenly nice, as it was that she was suddenly very, very, very happy. Being Sung Il’s girlfriend made her feel like she was flying, and never in her life had she been so excited to just wake up in the morning and take on a new day. This of course was good news for the company, because now they didn’t need to worry about her always being rude during appearances. There was no guarantee that Iseul would always be this friendly, but it was a significant step forward from the way she had been four days ago.
Literally skipping up to Sung Il’s door, Iseul stopped right in front of it and knocked lightly. She stood there, rocking back and forth on her heels as she waited for him to answer. She knew he was kind of dreading going home and having to tell their parents, but she was excited. She knew their parents would be happy for them, but part of her still thought that they wouldn’t approve. There was nothing for their parents to not approve of though. Their parents had been good friends because of the two of them, and they all knew each other really well, so if any one expressed dislike for Iseul and Sung Il’s relationship, she’d be crushed, and heartbroken. Sighing when he didn’t answer after an appropriate twenty-five second waiting period, Iseul knocked again. The room was only about twelve feet long, how long could it possibly take him to walk over and answer the door?

Sungil hit the ground and woke up with a jolt. Letting out a small yelp, he rolled over on his side, realizing that he must have fallen out of his bed. Well, that was strange…Sungil was usually a very sound sleeper. Something must have roused him awake a little, causing him to roll over in his sleep. So what was it?
This question was answered by the sound of a light knock on his door. Oh, so that must have been it. Somebody was here to see him. But who? Curious, Sungil stood up and walked the five feet over to the door, yawning as he flung it open.
As soon as he saw who was on the other side, his eyes widened. Iseul! That’s right, he was supposed to meet her at the bus stop in…ten minutes. Well, shit. He had completely forgotten. Was he a terrible boyfriend or what?
"Oh, Sookie, come on in…sorry…I um, slept in…let me just throw some stuff in a bag really quick," he said. He began to haphazardly grab some clothes out of his closet and threw them into his duffle bag. It wasn’t until he his bag was almost completely packed that he realized he was still in his pajamas. A deep blush rose onto his face; how could he have forgotten that he was in his boxers and a tank top? Well…it wasn’t like Iseul hadn’t ever seen him this way before, but things were different now. Now, she was his girlfriend, and the idea of her seeing him in his underwear was ten times more mortifying than it had ever been in the past.
After he finished packing, a thoroughly embarrassed Sungil pulled on some jeans and a shirt over his PJs. Grabbing his bag and slinging it over his shoulders, he walked over to Iseul and gave her a meek smile.
"It’s a good thing you came here instead of waiting for me at the bus stop…I probably wouldn’t have woken up on time," he said sheepishly. "Oh!" he said, suddenly remembering something. "Hi, by the way." His grin grew and he leaned in to give her a quick kiss on the lips. "Sorry I wasn’t ready earlier."

Iseul was a bit surprised when Sung Il opened the door. Not because he wasn’t ready yet, but because of his reaction to her. She had expected him to have overslept, and not even be packed yet, but she didn’t think he’d forget he was supposed to be going somewhere with her today. She should have gotten mad, but she couldn’t. He was just too adorable, and the expression on his face was priceless.
She snickered when he saw he was dressed in nothing but a wife beater and his boxers. She’d seen him dressed like that before, and each time she had to laugh. No one really understood why, but for Iseul, it made perfect sense. Sung Il had always been incredibly thin for a boy, and the prettiest, pale skin. On any given day, he would be dressed in at least pants and a T-shirt, so seeing more of his skin than she usually did make Iseul laugh. He was just so pale and skinny she found it amusing. His legs were the funniest part. Sung Il had girl legs, it was the reason why their company almost never let him wear shorts for appearances, or performances. Not that skinny jeans were much better, anyway. She loved Sung Il though, every bit of him, milky skin and all.
Stepping into his dorm room, Iseul didn’t say a word, and instead ran up to him and hugged him tightly before letting him go about packing. She sat down on his bed and watched as he packed, thinking that maybe there was a reason behind why he was packing this shirt instead of this one, but she knew there probably wasn’t. He was a boy after all, and boys never really gave a shit about how they looked.
She smiled at him when was done packing, and was finally dressed. Standing up she lightly brushed off her clothes and was reaching to pick up her bag again when Sung Il came over and kissed her. She felt like melting. It had been three days since they first got together, and she was still trying to get used to the idea of kissing the boy she’d been hopelessly in love with. Blushing softly, Iseul reached for his hand, and loosely intertwined their fingers. “Hi to you too.” Getting on her toes, she leaned in and lightly kissed his nose. “It’s okay. I’d rather miss the bus, and be late than have to leave without you.” She smiled again, and let go of his hand. Reaching up for him, she gently took his face in her hands and pulled her down to him, kissing him gently, but deeply on the lips.

being with iseul was great. sungil loved being her boyfriend, and he honestly had no idea how he had managed to go so long without even thinking about the possibility of dating her. he loved the way she laced her fingers with his, and the way she kissed the end of his nose all the time, and the way she seemed so much more smiley and happy lately. it felt good to be by her side and to see that he had such an effect on her. it was a little scary knowing that she loved him probably way more than he loved her at the moment, but he was confident that he would get there. he just needed time to adjust to the idea…and he was doing that as quickly as he could.
he was already used to the grin that never seemed to leave his face and the way his hand fit perfectly with hers. he was even starting to get used to the kissing, which was the best part. but it was all still a little unreal to him. he had never in his entire life thought about kissing iseul, but then it had actually happened and now he couldn’t imagine not thinking about it.
her words made him feel warm and fuzzy and he was about to say something cheesy back to her but then she pulled his face down to hers and pressed their mouths together. see, it was things like this that he still wasn’t quite used to, but he didn’t care – he loved it. he smiled against her lips and pulled her closer by the waist, pressing his body against hers. nibbling on her bottom lip gently, he kissed her back much deeper than he had a few moments earlier, never wanting to stop. he knew that now was hardly the time, and that they had a bus to catch, but she had started it. and besides, once they got home, they wouldn’t get to be alone again for a while. their parents would probably be breathing down their necks and watching their every move, especially once they heard about this new arrangement…and so he wanted to get as much kissing in as possible before the opportunity was stripped away from him.

The sixteen year old girl wasn’t exactly sure when she started liking Sung Il. There was a point in the third grade where she once told one of her friends that she liked Sung Il, but that was only because that was the point where kids started developing crushes on each other. There was another time in the first grade where she told everyone Sung Il was her boyfriend. Then there was that one time in the seventh grade when one girl in her class was telling her she liked Sung Il, and was asking her what she should do, and Iseul told her to make him extremely spicy kimchi, and strawberries, promising her that he would love it. In reality Sung Il hated spicy food with a passion, and was allergic to strawberries. That was just Iseul being a bitch and sabotaging the girl’s confession. At the time she had no idea why she had done it. She should have told her to get him something shiny because he always liked the way metallic things shone in the sunlight, or a basket filled to the brim with oranges, and a pineapple. But no. She had to ruin everything for the girl and crush her dreams. Why though? When she was twelve, Iseul didn’t know she liked Sung Il, but why had she done that? There was no definite moment in time where Iseul just “decided” she liked Sung Il, and looking back, she supposed it was something that was always there. She had always liked Sung Il, it just taken a while to manifest into full out loving him.
She smiled against his lips and kissed him back just as deeply, sighing softly when he nibbled on her bottom lip. Iseul never wanted this to end. But it had to. Reluctantly prying her lips from his, Iseul looked past him and at his alarm clock with wide eyes. Slinging her bag over her shoulder once again, she reached for his hand and intertwined their fingers tightly. She pulled him across the room and reached to turn off the light as they headed out the door, not bothering to let him lock it. She was sure his roommate could take care of that later. Hurrying him down the hall and out of the dorm building, Iseul pulled Sung Il across campus and toward the bus stop. “We’re going to be late!” She yelled as she practically ran. “My dad’s going to get mad if he has to wait longer for us to arrive.” Iseul knew her dad probably wouldn’t be too upset if she and Sung Il showed up late to be picked up from the bus stop, but he would pretend he was. Her dad was one of those people who thought that everything they did was hilarious. It was annoying, but she oddly loved that about him.
Glancing back at Sung Il as she hustled them down to the bus stop, Iseul smiled happily, something people thought she was never able to do. Being with Sung Il made her so inexplicably happy, there really was nothing she could say to describe it. It was just..........pure happiness, and made her feel all warm and fuzzy inside, the way true love should make you feel.

sungil really liked iseul. he didn’t know he did until a few days ago…but he did. he had always liked her, he had just never really liked her until recently. it wasn’t that she wasn’t his type – she actually totally was – he just hadn’t ever really thought about dating her. it seemed weird to him to have romantic feelings for someone he’d known practically his whole life, but now that they were together, he didn’t think it was so strange anymore. why not date your best friend? the two of them got along famously, and they were always together anyway, so really not much was changing. the only different thing about their relationship now was that they kissed. they held hands and cuddled and did other things, too, but they had always done that. they had just never kissed before.
well, now they did, and sungil loved it. so, naturally, he was a little upset when iseul broke away from him so quickly, but he supposed it had to be done. she was right, after all…they were going to be late. it was all his fault, too. if he had been ready at the proper time, then maybe they wouldn’t be on such a tight schedule, and then maybe they could kiss longer. but oh well. he would just have to wait.
the young boy let his girlfriend drag him to the bus stop, their fingers intertwined. the smile that had graced his face when she first arrived still hadn’t left. even as he was pulled around campus, he still felt happy with her. he was glad they weren’t avoiding each other anymore, because that had really sucked. (well, really he had been the only one doing the avoiding…but that was beside the point. he’d rather not think about what a jerk he was, anyway.)
sungil smiled down at iseul and squeezed her hand tightly as they stood waiting at the bus stop. "i hope you know my mom’s going to flip out when she hears we’re dating," he said, chuckling slightly. his parents had always loved iseul, and he was sure they would be ecstatic. especially his mom. she always got overly excited about everything. "it’ll be okay, though. hopefully they won’t tease us too much." soon after he said this, the bus arrived. they clambered on and took two seats near the middle, still holding hands. it wasn’t until he noticed a few people staring at him that he remembered he needed to be careful about public appearances. he was an idol, after all. sliding down lower in his seat, sungil bit his lip and reluctantly let go of iseul’s hand. sure, it would be okay to hold her hand if they were at school, as most people knew they were close friends anyway, but out in public it probably wasn’t the best idea. he didn’t want another landon-and-ara situation, after all.
"sorry," he said, leaning in to briefly whisper in iseul’s ear. "i wish we could cuddle but i don’t want anyone to take pictures of us or start a scandal." he really wanted to kiss her some more but that just wasn’t an option right now. sighing, sungil leaned back in his seat. this was most likely going to be a pretty long bus ride. he probably should have brought something to do.

She looked up at him and wrinkled her nose. “You’re mom’s going to freak out? My dad is going to freak out. You’re dating his little girl. You better just hope he doesn’t attack that pretty face of yours.” She was teasing, of course. Well...not about his pretty face, that wasn’t teasing, because she really did think he was beautiful beyond words, even in pictures where he was making really ugly faces. She was pretty sure her dad wouldn’t punch Sung Il in the face. He had never done such a thing before for Sun Jung, so Iseul was fairly certain he wouldn’t do that today, but she could never be one hundred percent about what her dad would do. She definitely hadn’t expected him to cry when she moved out of the house and into her dorm at school. “Oh I’m sure they’re going to tease us,” she continued, “But at least we don’t have to worry about things like baby pictures, or embarrassing stories, right?”
Every baby picture their parents could have possibly pulled out, and every embarrassing story they could have told, had either already been shared, or Iseul was a part of it. That’s sort of what happened when you’d spent the past eleven years of your life with someone. There was no embarrassing story Sung Il’s parents could have possibly told Iseul that she wasn’t already aware of. And if there was, she was going to use it against him if they were ever on a variety show together.
She was a little disappointed when he let go of her hand on the bus. “It’s fine,” she said passively, knowing that if the people on the bus took a picture of them it would cause a huge problem for her even before she debuted. Cobalt already had Landon and Ara to worry about, the last thing they needed was another couple to surface. As far as the company, and the general public of South Korea was concerned, Iseul and Sung Il were lifelong friends, and nothing more. “It’s fine, Sung Il-ah, really,” she said quietly as she leaned away from him. If they were going to pretend to not be dating, then why not beef it up a little? The two of them had never really been for formalities, especially not with each other. Iseul didn’t have acting skills to tap into when she and Sung Il were out in public, so the closest she could get to pretending to not be dating him, was to act coldly.
Placing her bag in her lap, the soon-to-be idol pulled her phone out of her pocket, and started to compose a text message.
I love you. :]
And don’t reply to this, or they’ll know we’re texting each other. :P
Hitting send, Iseul didn’t even look at Sung Il and instead pulled headphones out of her bag and plugged them into her phone. For the rest of the ride she absentmindedly stared out of the window, only occasionally glancing around the bus. After awhile all the people who had been on the bus when they got on had left, and gone off to their chosen destinations. When they eventually got to the stop her father had instructed them to get off at, the only people on the bus were an elderly couple, a young mom with two small children, and a few teenagers with multi-colored hair that didn’t look like they paid much attention to Kpop. Standing up and putting her phone into her bag, Iseul tapped Sung Il’s shoulder and motioned for him to get up. “We’re here. Let’s go,” she said casually, trying not to act too eager to leave. She said thank you to the driver and led Sung Il out the back entrance. The two of them stood there for a moment as the bus pulled away, and revealed Iseul’s dad sitting in the window of a cafe across the street. Smiling brightly, Iseul found herself automatically reaching for Sung Il’s hand, and forced herself to stop. They were still out in public, she would have to wait until they got into the car for that.
The pair crossed the street and iseul ran into the coffee shop and hugged her father tightly. Since her life consisted mostly of training to become an idol, and school, she didn’t get to see her parents too often. There were plenty other trainees that either didn’t go to school, or didn’t go to boarding school that still got to live at home, and see their parents every day, but Iseul had no such privilege, so whenever she did get to see her parents it always made her extremely happy. Her father said hello and kissed her forehead. He said the same to Sung Il, but ruffled his hair instead, and made some comment about how light it was. Right as those words left her dad’s mouth, a pair of college students in the opposite corner looked up and seemed to notice Sung Il. Iseul’s dad wasted no time grabbing their bags and ushering them out the door. The last thing they needed on their weekend home was crazed fans following them around. Throwing their bags in the trunk, Iseul’s dad opened the passenger side door and motioned for her to get in.
“Oh, thanks Daddy, but I think I’ll sit in the back with Sung Il.” That earned her a raised eyebrow and a confused expression. Iseul never sat in the back with Sung Il. It was well known by their families that she liked to sit in the front when her parents were driving, and mess with the radio stations. But her dad didn’t question it and let the two teenagers get in the back seat together. Once they were all buckled in and her dad had pulled away from the cafe, Iseul reached for Sung Il’s hand and laced their fingers together with a smile. The best part about dating Sung Il was that they didn’t really act any different now than they had when they were just childhood friends. It made everything more comfortable, and because of this their parents couldn’t really make fun of them for holding hands constantly, because they had grown up doing that anyway.

sungil frowned as iseul started to act coldly towards him. he knew it was just because they couldn’t behave like a couple in public, but he still felt like he had angered her or something. he felt bad that they couldn’t hold hands or snuggle until they got home, but there really wasn’t anything he could do about it. instead of dreading over it, though, he just sat and pouted, trying to find a way to pass the time.
just as he was drifting off to sleep, his phone vibrated. curious, he read the message from his girlfriend and grinned. so she wasn’t mad, after all. good. he spared a glance over at her and saw that she was looking out the window. sighing, he put his phone away, knowing that what she had said in the text was right. see, this was why iseul was so great. she was smart – unlike sungil. he never would have thought of something like that.
as the bus ride progressed, he found his thoughts wandering back to what she had said before they got on, about her dad attacking him in the (pretty) face. sungil knew that iseul’s father would never do such a thing to him, but that comment still made him feel uneasy. what if he really was unhappy about the two of them dating? what if he gave sungil scary glares or threatened to ruin his idol career? even if the geum family and the go family had always been close, that didn’t stop sungil from being scared. he was dating mr. geum’s baby girl…as far as he was concerned, anything could happen.
as they finally arrived and met up with iseul’s dad, sungil did his best not to let his anxiety show. he smiled at mr. geum and spoke with him, just like usual, but at the same time he found himself subconsciously keeping his distance from the man. when iseul’s father messed with his hair, sungil cringed away, earning himself a raised brow from both his companions. he tried to brush it off by spewing some lie about how he just had it dyed and his scalp was sore, but he knew iseul’s father could probably see right through it.
after that, the walk to the car was sort of awkward (or at least, for sungil it was). he managed to make it there without explicitly giving anything away, though, and soon he was seated in the back next to his girlfriend. he honestly had been surprised that she wanted to sit in the back with him; that never happened. she always sat in the front. but here she was, sitting next to him instead of her father, and holding his hand tightly.
sungil gave iseul a bright and goofy grin and squeezed her hand lovingly. he knew her dad was probably watching them in the rear view mirror, but he didn’t really care. he and iseul were always cuddly like this, even long before they were dating. it shouldn’t have raised too much suspicion. or at least, that’s what he thought.
the car ride from the bus station to iseul’s house was not very long, and soon enough, they had arrived. they got out of the car and walked into the house, sungil and iseul still holding hands tightly. when they got inside, they were greeted by iseul’s mom and both of sungil’s parents, who had spent the day at the other family’s home (as they often did). at the sight of his parents, sungil’s face lit up. letting go of iseul’s hand, he immediately engulfed both of them in one giant hug. "mommy! daddy!" he shouted like a five year as he clung to them. as an idol and a boarding school student, the young boy hardly got to see his parents anymore. he missed them, and it felt good to be home. he let go of his parents and turned to iseul’s mom, who had always been like a second mother to him.
"hello, mrs. geum!" he greeted, bowing respectfully. usually he wasn’t so formal with them but for some reason, he felt obliged to act this way today. "how have you been?"

Sung Il was so dumb. She could tell her dad was growing suspicious because of his actions. He usually acted like her parents were his own, but right now he was being overly formal, and extremely awkward. Way to go Sung Il. And he was the one that was worried about teasing.
Regardless of how stupid he was, she still loved him, for some strange reason she did not know. Iseul usually couldn’t stand stupid people, but the fact she had known Sung Il for most of her life meant something to her. When they were little it wasn’t obvious she was more intelligent, but as they grew older her brains started to show, and they were separated into different classes. She had grown up with Sung Il’s stupidity, which was her theory as to how she was able to put up with it no matter what.
But her ability to put up with Sung Il being dumb didn’t change the fact that he was. He was acting way too strangely around her father for it to be considered normal. He was acting like a boy who was scared to meet his girlfriend’s parents, but that didn’t really work since he already knew her parents, so he was really just making a fool of himself.
Once they got her her house, Iseul thought everything was going to be semi-okay, but then he had to go and address her mom formally. “What the hell Sung Il?” she wanted to ask while smacking him in the back of the head, but instead she settled for biting the inside of her cheek and taking her bag from her father and holding onto it tightly. Iseul was a terrible actress, but at least she wasn’t acting all out of character like Sung Il was.
Iseul clutched her bag as she watched her mother. After a moment of silence and everyone staring at Sung Il, Iseul took a half step forward and was about to open her mouth to say hi when her mother beat her.
“Are you two dating?” she asked in a matter-of-fact tone. “You’re dating aren’t you. I knew it would happen eventually.” Iseul’s eyes widened in horror as a big grin grew on her mother’s face. They had come home to tell their parents about their relationship, not for them to figure it out the second they came in the door. Iseul honestly didn’t know why she was so scared right now. She knew their parents would be delighted to find out their precious babies were together, but for some reason she wanted to see the looks on their faces when they found out, not the other way around. “Oh Mi Sook, sweetie, close your mouth, that’s not very attractive.” She wasn’t even aware her mouth was hanging open. Clamping her jaw shut, Iseul watched as her mother got up from where she was sitting and came over to hug her. “How is my baby?”
With the initial shock dying down, Iseul eventually engulfed her mother in a tight hug. “I’m good, Mommy. Better than ever actually. Sung Il’s my boyfriend! And he makes me happy.” Smiling happily, Iseul peered over her mother’s shoulder and at Sung Il. Her smile only grew when she saw him. Loosening her grip on her mother, Iseul leaned back and looked at her. “We came home to tell you guys, but you just ruined it by figuring it out yourself,” she pouted. She knew her dad was probably going to flip out and go into overprotective father mode in about thirty seconds, but she didn’t really care. It was Sung Il, he should be glad it was him of all the boys she possibly could have chosen to date.

sungil knew that he wasn’t exactly acting normal, but he definitely was not expecting to be found out within seconds of walking in the door. as iseul’s mom asked if they were dating, his eyes grew wide and his cheeks began to flush. how the hell did she do that?! he glanced frantically over at iseul, unsure of what to say, and saw that she looked just as shocked as he was. still not saying anything, he looked back to his own parents, who both had huge grins on their faces. oh god. he just wanted to crawl into a corner and hide forever.
the young boy hid his face in his hands, already embarrassed, as iseul told her mom that yes, they were dating. peeking through his fingers, he saw her smiling at him, and he had to bite his lip to stop the ridiculous grin that was forming on his face. he didn’t need his parents to see just how giddy he felt hearing that he made her happy. that was just asking for more ridicule, so he dug his teeth into his lip, hoping that his parents would take mercy on him for once.
of course he was foolish to think so. "sungil, you dog! you finally noticed what a catch she is, did you?" his dad jeered, laughing at the way the boy’s face was a very deep shade of red. "dad…" he whined, scratching the back of his neck nervously. he was about to say more but then his mom interrupted.
"this is so great! you two are so adorable!" she said. sungil stared; she looked like she was about to cry. what the hell was wrong with her? you’d think they were announcing a marriage or something. "oh, honey, you’re remembering to be safe, aren’t you? i know that sometimes, things can get pretty heated, and you won’t want to stop to protect yourself but you have to remember that you’re only sixteen! and if misook came home pregnant, it would be really bad, so –"
"oh my god. mom. stop!" sungil interrupted. it was official, he wanted to die. right now. "we just started dating like three days ago, so this really isn’t necessary," he continued, still blushing. he knew this would happen. his parents were always saying ridiculous crap and overreacting to everything. this was precisely what he had been dreading.
right now, all he wanted to do was spend time with iseul without their parents around, but he knew that wasn’t going to happen any time soon. so for now, he settled for just looking at her, sending her apologetic looks on behalf of his crazy mother. hopefully this would all end soon. he didn’t know if he could take an entire weekend of this.

Iseul looked over at her dad and noticed that he didn’t really seem to have a reaction to all of this..........until Sung Il’s mom started talking. She was absolutely mortified that his mother would even bring that up, but at the same time she wasn’t really surprised. She had known Sung Il’s parents for the majority of her life, and she had a strange feeling in the pit of her stomach, that this would come up. Iseul was just about to say something when her dad decided he’d speak for her. Well, “speak” was the wrong word, it was more like he flipped out. He even threw his hands in the air and everything.
Before Iseul even knew what was going on, her dad had grabbed both her and Sung Il, and thrown them next to each other on the couch. She looked at Sung Il was a mortified expression, that was somehow her way of apologizing for her father. She just sat there, looking at her father, and slowly reached her hand over and grabbed onto Sung Il as her dad paced back and forth in front of them going on and on about how they were too young to be having sex. She didn’t argue, she knew if she had tried all her efforts would be fruitless. In all honesty the thought hadn’t even crossed her mind. Not with Sung Il, and not ever really. Iseul didn’t really believe in waiting until marriage, but she didn’t think it was okay to just go around having sex with random strangers. It was something that was special, and something that should be reserved for someone you loved with all your heart. Maybe her first time would be with Sung Il, and maybe it wouldn’t be. She didn’t know, but none of that really mattered to her right now.
Glancing at her boyfriend beside her, Iseul grabbed his hand and intertwined their fingers tightly. She smiled at him slightly, and suddenly, her father’s lecture was done. Looking up at him in a daze, Iseul could barely process what was going on before their parents all got up, and just left the house. She looked at Sung Il, with a confused look on her face, but suddenly realized she didn’t care their parents were gone. They were alone now, and that’s all she really cared about. Smiling a little brighter, she leaned over and kissed his cheek. “That wasn’t so bad was it?” she asked, as she rested her head on his shoulder.

as if his parents’ reactions weren’t bad enough, soon iseul’s dad started freaking out, causing sungil to go into a state of utter fear. he loved her parents, and they loved him, but this was just…it was scary. as mr. geum lectured them on how they were too young to have sex, sungil merely blushed and stared with wide eyes, nodding at everything he said to make sure it was clear he understood. the last thing he wanted was to be killed by his girlfriend’s father, after all.
the funny thing was, sungil hadn’t really thought about going that far with iseul, at least not until now. a week ago he didn’t even like her as more than a friend. but he was a teenage boy, so of course now that the subject had been approached, he was going to think about it. obviously he wasn’t ready to sleep with her yet, but he wasn’t really opposed to the idea. not at all. but it was still embarrassing having their parents talk about it so openly. the only thing keeping him from committing suicide right then and there (alright, so that was an exaggeration, but whatever) was the fact that iseul was holding his hand. he loved it when she did that.
just when he thought he couldn’t take any more of this humiliation, it stopped. it was as if their parents had just had some sort of telepathic conversation, because all of the sudden, they were all leaving. dazed and confused, sungil watched as they were left alone. well…that was unexpected. but pleasantly so.
he squeezed her hand and grinned as she kissed his cheek. finally, they were free to be as couple-y as they desired. "are you kidding?" he asked, incredulous. "that was terrible. i think i’m scarred for life. but at least it’s over now." leaning down a bit, he kissed the top of her head and snuggled closer to her on the couch. "it’s kind of weird that they left us alone, though. especially considering what they were just saying about being safe…" he blushed, not sure if he should really bring that up again right now. "but anyway. i’m glad we’re home."

She chuckled softly when Sung Il complained about their parents. They were kind of crazy, but she could kind of see where they were coming from. She knew the four of them had wanted their youngest children to start dating for the longest time, and she felt that now that it was happening, they didn’t really know what to do. The getting up and leaving was a bit odd though, especially after her dad had just lectured them on the importance of practicing safe sex. It made absolutely no sense that they would leave like that, but she was glad to be home alone with Sung Il.
“I’m glad we’re home too,” she yawned. She hated the fact she always got sleepy when she was sitting with Sung Il. It was just so comfortable being with him, but you’d think after eleven, almost twelve years together, she would have built up an immunity. This was not the case, as she felt her eyelids growing progressively heavier until she could no longer keep her eyes open. “I love you,” she managed to mumble sleepily before drifting off into a deep, and peaceful sleep.
