Golds: (Very Rare)
They are female, and will Impress only heterosexual women. Golds are the largest and strongest of the dragons and are often considered the most intelligent. Gold dragons have average adult human intelligence. They are able to assess other dragons states of mind and assist their riders in the management of the Weyr. A gold reaches sexual maturity between 2 Turns and 3 Turns of age. They will Rise to mate twice a year, and three months later will lay a Clutch of anywhere from six to fourty Eggs. Gold dragons cannot chew firestone, which their systems are not designed to process; instead, their riders must use agenothree tanks against Threadfall. The senior goldpair is the highest authority within a Weyr, and no dragon will disobey his or her senior queen, regardless of the circumstance.

Bronzes: (Quite Rare)
They are male, and will only Impress men. Bronzes are the largest and least common of the male dragons, and they compete with one another to mate with the golds of a Weyr. Bronze dragons are about as intelligent as queens, but have less influence over other dragon minds. A Bronze reaches sexual maturity between 2 Turns and 3 Turns of age. Commonly Wingseconds, bronzepairs are nearly always the Wingleaders of the Weyr, and a Weyrleader is always the rider of the bronze who has flown the Weyr's senior queen.

Lavenders: (Rare)
These are female dragons, supposedly only impressing to women. Little is known about the genetically altered color. They are ranked under queens for their abilities to Clutch, although this privilege is taken away from them during intervals to control population. They are the wise, calm dragons who are respected for their level-heads and sense of justice in a Weyr. They have lithe, dancer-like builds are extremely flexible. These are one of the few dragons capable of thinking and planning ahead. It is not uncommon for them to take a queen's place if Golds are absent.

Clutches: 3-10 eggs




Browns: (Uncommon)
They are male, and so far have Impressed only to men. Browns are considerably larger than blues and greens, and are more stable both mentally and physically. Brown dragons are somewhat less intelligent than bronzes, but have good judgment. Many have an extra sense useful on Search, identifying likely Candidates for Hatchings. They are less common than both blue and greens. A brown dragon reaches sexual maturity between 1.75 Turns and 2.25 Turns of age. Brown dragonpairs are often Wingseconds.

Blues: (Common)
They are male, and will usually Impress only men, although with the recent abundance of male candidates, a few have taken female lifemates. Blue dragons are more numerous than browns or bronzes, and while not as fast as the average green, they have more stamina. Blue dragons do not tend to think past themselves and their rider and anyone directly effecting their lives. While they are not stupid, they lack the intelligence to make major judgment calls. A blue dragon reaches sexual maturity between 1.5 Turns and 2 Turns of age. Blue dragons, along with browns, are the dragon color most likely to have stronger Searching instincts than browns.

Greens: (Common)
They are female, and given the choice, tend to prefer to Impress women. Green dragons, along with the blues, are considered the least intelligent of all dragons, and are normally characterized as being skittish, flighty, and easily distracted. Green dragons have about the same intelligence level as a blue but are more inclined to think about the effects of their actions on others, especially male dragons. A green reaches sexual maturity anytime from 1.5 Turns to 2 Turns of age.When a green is "proddy" she is absolutely oriented on male dragons, not doing much thinking at all, often affecting her rider's judgment. A green will rise to mate as frequently as four times a Turn, but luckily, they are infertile due to a genetic flaw intentionally introduced by Kitti Ping. Greens are the most numerous of the dragons in the Weyr, with approximately half of a Weyr's population being greens. They are the fastest and most agile of all the dragons, but have noticeably less stamina than the rest.

Rubidiums aka Rubies: (Rare)
They can be either male or female, and impress either gender equally. They are tiny and incredibly flexible, and seem to be the most athletic of dragons. For their small size, they have incredibly stamina that ranks with that of browns. These are incredibly driven, fiery, emotional dragons that are likely to snap if angered. Their pride ranks with that of bronzes and golds. Higher ranks often have to control their swinging personalities, yet they are invaluable for their dextrosity and stamina. They are the perfect Threadfighters, and this fact is well known.

Mottleds (Rare)
The strangest of the mutations, a throwback to Ruth of the ninth pass. These dragons are dominantly white, although flecked with ONLY ONE of the Canon base colors. They can be male or female, depending on the second color of their hides. They are sterile and do not rise to mate. These are the smallest and most fragile of the dragons, and are prone to sickness. However, they are the only dragons besides queens and bronzes that can time it, and they are also intelligent and able to form bonds with firelizards and whers alongside humans.
Length: No matter their base color, they are 25-35 feet long
