Delicate porcelain skin flushed a warm golden hue in the lingering glow of Rukbat's rays. It was not yet sunset, but Jieun had meandered down to the shore to watch the waves dance upon the sand and curl her bare feet in the surf, feeling the cool waters rushing up to her calves and the sand sliding smoothly between her toes. A half-smile lit her face; indeed the scenery was spectacular here, and not for the first time she wished she had a talent for painting or drawing. She itched to be able to capture the scene somehow. Then again... nothing could compare to actually being here.
Sighing in contentment, she settled down on a piece of driftwood, drawing a light shawl around her shoulders over sleeveless tunic to ward off the sudden chilly breeze that whipped up as Rukbat kissed the horizon finally. Crimson gold and orange melded sky and sea as the calm sunset faced a reversed chaotic swirl of itself. Jieun's grey gaze lifted to the stars that began to appear in the darkening edges of the sky, and she felt a twinge of melancholy. Her mother would've loved Praesto, and she would've been so proud of her daughter, being searched as a dragon candidate and all. The girl missed her dearly, and the half-smile that had once graced her features turned into a slight grimace of grief.
