Name| Damask Age| 36 Color| Green (8FBC8F) Appearance| Damask is a very light, delicate-looking green in every regard, but don't let that fool you. Her wings are small enough that they don't provide much drag during her Runs, and she is surprisingly muscular under that celadon skin. She has slight lighter patterns, almost white in color, laid over her shoulders, back, and tail. Though smaller than average in height, she's almost as long as Estesk. Her outside right foreclaw has some issues with turning inward and cracking, but Damaris takes good care of it. Personality| Damask is aloof and cold, an instant judge of character. She is extremely quiet and still around people, though around other whers she can sometimes be found to open up a little. She likes the taste of ginger. Though she is fairly old for a wher, she does not show it in appearance or personality, and gets offended when Damaris or someone else assumes she has limitations. History| Firelizards go wild, dragons go between, and whers go to the eldest son in the mining hold. Except that Challey didn't have a son, mining hold or elsewhere. After thirty Turns of working in the mines with Challesk, his body was old and tired, but his mind was woefully sharp. And woefully set on his plans to bequeath Challesk to his estranged daughter, whom he had never met. Echo forced the Impression just before he took his last breath, cutting Damaris's palm with the girl's own sewing scissors and dragging it before Challesk's tongue. Three Turns passed before the wher really came out of her grief, calling herself Challesk despite Damaris's distress, and and then one day dawned on a new wher, cool, collected, and named Damask. Three Turns later, Echo again forced her daughter's hand--this time into a dragonrider's, to take the girl and her bonded green wher to a new Weyr called Praesto. Damask gets on well enough with the whers she's met so far.
