Dearest Diary,

Shall I call you Valentina, after my dear mother? I think that would be appropriate. I wonder if she sleeps well in that grave my father sent her to. I hope that man stays alive until I find him, miserable wretch that he is.

Today I started my first day here at Potter University as Professor Rosewater, just like I'd always dreamed. Professor of Ancient Runes, Esther Rosewater. I like the way that sounds.

Today is also the aniversary of the day I met dear Esteban, love of my life. May he rest in peace. Once again, my father had better be hiding somewhere I'll never find him, if he values his pathetic life, worthless parasite that he is.

I will write more later. Now I must be going.

Hello again, Dear Diary. Valentina. I'm starting to think naming inanimate objects the way I always do is a sign of insanity. Maybe yes, maybe no?

Another day, another time, another place. Well, not another place. I just felt like writing something. You know?

Valentina. Today is the day that I realized that very few people are interested in taking Anicent Runes. No one had signed up yet. Maybe I'm overreacting?

For once in my life, I want to run around in circles and shout "AGH!!!!"

My wretched beast of a father has come out of hiding. I am going to skin that man alive if I see him....He had better be prepared.

After winter break the school feels so...weird. I mean, suddenly out of nowhere it's Duels? Darkness? Anger? What on Earth has happened, beside the Ministry Election, won by Lucy McNair?

Things are getting weeeeeeiiiirrrrdddd.

Father, father, father. I wish I could call that man something less...endearing. He was never a proper father to me. My favorite word for him is 'wretch'.

I've made the acquaintance of some students and collegues alike.

And they all hate me.

Why me, Valentina? Why must I have been cursed with improper speech? I've offended the bookkeeper, offended a student, disgusted 2 students, and met a boy whom I know is part vampire!!

I hate this life/death/existence thing I've got going on...

Today, I was digging through some old things and found some old sketches that I, some of my art buddies, and even he himself had drawn of my dearest Esteban!








The last one is my favorite...isn't he just precious? That one he did of himself. The first was drawn by one of his friends, and the middle is one of mine, a smaller version of it at least...

He is so beautiful. I miss him terribly, Mother.
