![]() Louis Boggs Sr. Missing since January 29, 1979 from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Classification: Endangered Missing Date Of Birth: August 11, 1911 Age at Time of Disappearance: 67 years old Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 6'0"; 180 lbs. Distinguishing Characteristics: White male. Brown eyes; grey hair. Dentals: Upper and lower dentures. The lounge operator was reported missing by his son on January 29, 1979. Boggs received a telephone call at his Florida Boulevard bar the day he disappeared. He talked for awhile, then hung up and left to run an errand. He's not been seen since. Boggs' stepson, Clifford E. Lewin, was found a short time after the disappearance sleeping in Boggs' car in Florida. A bloody knife and a shovel were in the trunk and he was charged with killing his stepfather. After a trial, Lewin was acquitted in 1981. Lewin was the first person in Louisiana to stand trial for a presumed murder in which no body had been found. Boggs was a retired construction worker whose hobby was his lounge. He was there every morning by 6 a.m. to make coffee for his regular customers. Boggs wears upper and lower dentures. Details of Disappearance Boggs was last seen at his lounge on Florida Boulevard on January 29, 1979. He received a telephone call, talked for awhile, then hung up and left the premesis to run an errand. He has never been heard from again. A short time after Boggs's disappearance, his stepson, Clifford E. Lewin, was found sleeping in Boggs's car in Florida. A bloody knife and shovel were in the trunk of the vehicle. Lewin was charged with murdering Boggs, but was acquitted at his 1981 trial. Boggs is a retired construction worker. Foul play is suspected in his case due to the circumstances involved.
