PRINCE GEORGE/CKNW(AM980) - The discovery of a backpack and some clothes in northwestern BC has the RCMP warning people not to connect the finding with the Highway of Tears missing women's investigation.
A couple found a backpack and some clothes on an abandoned logging road near Moricetown.

RCMP Staff Sergeant John Ward says it's far too early to connect the clothes to any of the nine women who have disappeared or been killed along Highway 16 since 1990, "It could have fallen out of a truck right? It's very difficult to say when or where or how the clothes got there, so. But we can't automatically jump to the conclusion that it's involved in an investigation."

Ward says the backpack and its contents are being examined to determine who it belonged to.
