VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR GROUNDBREAKING SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENT

Scientists at the Interregional Association for the Study and Research of Legendary Pokemon (IASRLP)

Are looking for resilient, young candidates (ages 15 to 18) to assist in the research, analyzation, and laboratory experimentation regarding pokemon commonly cited in myths and legends and yet rarely seen by human eyes.

Volunteers will take part in a major endeavor to shed light on the mysteries of the existence of such pokemon and in the process will form their own opinions and ideas that will help them in whatever path they may choose to pursue in their region.

In addition, all volunteers will have basic necessities provided for them during the internship, which will last approximately three weeks. This will include boarding, food, and medical needs. The laboratory is located on a small island between Johto and Sinnoh. Transportation via airplane will be provided. For the time and location of aircraft boarding for each region, as well as applications for the experiment, please call the number printed at the bottom of this paper…

This notice mysteriously appeared over the four main regions of the world-- Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh, and Hoenn. Although its purpose was vague and slightly ominous, many people applied to discover what the "groundbreaking scientific experiment" was that would allow them such a good look at legendary pokemon.

Little did they know... they were going to be the experiment.

As the Eighth Wave crashes, more people join the Resistance... and more join to oppose them. As alliances begin to form, the DNA fusions begin, and true intentions behind the scientists are slowly going to reveal themselves... or are they?

Also note that the user "Treblipotent" has returned to Pokemorphs Legend, and is now performing CPR on the site... or something like that. Check her return thread for more details.

Facts About the Role Play That Will Help You Integrate

There are four scientists on the project, representing the four leading "teams" of the pokemon world: Ice (Aqua), Kindle (Magma), Gaia (Rocket), and Gale (Galaxy). Their names are really nicknames. They know only as much as Omnipotent will tell them about the experiment, and have only met him in person a few times.

Omnipotent is the mysterious leader of the experiment, and his motives are unknown at the time. He worked in correlation with the four teams to obtain the DNA of each legendary, although he does not appear to be in allegiance with any of them.

The process through which the pokemon's DNA is combined with that of the humans requires a precise handler, and is Gale's responsibility. The DNA of the pokemon is injected into the inactive chromatin within the nucleus of a host cell, then stimulated to begin copying that DNA instead. This is done to several cells which are then implanted back into the host, making the process gradual but effective, the host's DNA slowly being crowded out...

The island consists of three main areas: the living area, the laboratory, and the field area. The living area is meant to be a place for the subjects to stay before and during the transformation. It resembles a three-story fancy hotel. The laboratory is where the DNA fusion takes place, but there is also an open area for the subjects to explore, created to observe the psychological effects on them. It is also where all the information regarding the project is stored. Lastly there is the field area, created as a habitat of sorts for the morphs once their transformation is complete.

The island is also protected heavily. Because of the power of legendary pokemon, no physical structure was expected to keep them in. Instead, the island is lined with a "field" of energy, and if anyone gets too close to the field an implanted internal device goes off and sends shocks of pain through their bodies. Going too close could be fatal.

Omnipotent, unknown even to his scientists, is running psychological tests on all of the island's inhabitants as the ordeal progresses. Everything the morphs do is being carefully observed, documented, and considered...

Even though they are essentially being held prisoner, the morphs have a lot of freedom. Aside from the fact that security cameras are always watching them, they can move freely between any unguarded areas.
