Does anyone play a private Ragnarok Online server? Download the RAG and SAK clients from the official site and PM me. Private servers have faster leveling, more items, and they're free!

OK I guess noone knows what Ragnarok is about.

Ragnarok is a Pay-2-Play MMORPG(Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) slightly based on Norse mythology. Don't worry about money,though, because as I said earlier, private servers are free, usually faster, and give you many many times more experience and items than official servers. And they're legal,too! You won't see gods or anything like that, but there are elemental weapons and magics, power-up skills, and in the case of acolytes, the power to heal and raise others' stats temporarily by the power of faith in God. It seems dumb,right? It isn't. The graphics, while needing low memory, are awesome, the sound is extremely high-quality, and you need timing and a quick eye to survive with most classes.

For those of you acheing to rid yourselves of the kill-the-monsters-before-you-die style, you can go to a Player VS Player arena to fight others with your skills, or fight in the War of Emperium for your guilds honor.

The 5 main classes are Swordsman, Acolyte, Mage, Thief, and Merchant. Swordsmen are the highest wanted for defense. Their tanking abilities own, because they have the highest HP and a lot of defense. Acolytes use spells like Heal, Sanctuary, and Kyrie Eleison to raise stats, heal others, and create special shielding out of magic. Mages are of course the highest magic attackers. They have a lot of area effect spells like Lord of Vermillion and Meteor Storm, while balancing it out with powerful single-target spells like Jupiter Thunder and Soul Strike. Thieves rely on inflicting status ailments on their enemies, hiding to escape attack, and even removing armor or weapons. Last but not least, merchants can sell items for more money than usual and get discounts. They can set up shops to gain money faster, repair weapons or refine them, and create potions, depending on which class you become*.

That's the thing. I play on the qRO.HR private server. Private servers number in the thousands, and are free. The official servers have real slow leveling, let alone the fact that they cost a monthly fee.

I said I'd explain secondary classes and I will.

SWORDSMAN:

2-1 JOB: CRUSADERS/PALADINS
Crusaders are basically the best for leveling other players and killing enemies quickly. They can use Grand Cross to suffer some damage themselves but annihilate anything in the affected area, or Holy Cross to deal two holy element attacks to one monster. They can also use special abilities like Smite and Shield Chain to even use their shields as weapons. They ride PecoPecos, which are like Chocobos in the Final Fantasy games, to increase walking speed.
BEST WEAPONS: Swords, Shields, and Two-Handed Swords

2-2 JOB: KNIGHTS/LORD KNIGHTS
Knights are the other option for growing Swordsmen. They have the ultimate defense, a fairly large attack, and many skills involving lances. They can use Brandish to deal increased damage to an increasing area of enemies (hits one tile in front of you, then 2 tiles wide in the second row of attack, on and on til 7), Spear Quicken to increase attack rate, and more skills than I care to remember. Like the Crusader, they increase speed by riding an animal. But instead of a PecoPeco they ride the GRAND Peco peco, which is clad in armor and has a rainbow colored tail.
BEST WEAPONS: Lances, Poleaxes.

ACOLYTES:

2-1 JOB: PRIESTS/HIGH PRIESTS
These are the full-time support class. Priests get an even huger array of support spells than the Acolyte, such as the aforementioned Gloria and Kyrie Eleison skills. They also get Sanctuary, which creates a small field of constant healing for weary warriors. They get a non-healing variation of Sanctuary, Magnus Exorcism, which is the size of an X of 5 Sanctuaries and deals amazing damage to any undead or demon ype monster that comes into it.
BEST WEAPON: Book, Wand

2-2 JOB: MONKS/CHAMPIONS
This bad boy is what happens when you mix an Acolyte and a Swordsman. They keep all the spells they learned as an Acolyte, but from the moment they change to this class on, they become swift-attacking combo masters. They can summon spirit spheres to aid in using combos and increase attack, can use the Fury skill to increase critical rate by 20%, and can use the Asura Strike to channel all of their SP and combined it with multiplied strength and accuracy to slam into an enemy for anywhere from 10,000 (newbie monk) to over 120,000 damage. What's ebtter than this is that when they get enough dexterity for instant skill use (on qRO it's set at 150) they can perform the ultimate Way of the Asura combo. It combines a raging triple blow with it's quadruple partner (7 hits so far), a thrust attack that stuns (8), the Tiger Fist Strike (double damage on one hit, 9 hits so far), a Chain Crush combo, (10 hits, making a 19th hit), and finishing off the combo with the 20th hit--- an Asura Strike. Biggest section for my favorite class XDXD
BEST WEAPON: Claws (not fingernails you retard. I'm talking about gloves with ultra-sharp spikes on them)

MAGES:

2-1 JOB: WIZARDS/HIGH WIZARDS
Wizards are your standard run-of-the-mill firestarters and thunder-calling gods. They excel in using magic quickly and powerfully to wipe out many enemies at a time, and have even mastered magic to such a standard that when they kill an enemy via spell they collect some of its life as SP(Mana).
BEST WEAPONS: Wands

2-2 JOB:SAGES/PROFESSORS
Sages are the alternate path for a Mage to take. Instead of relying on power spells, Sages can use elemental area effect spells like Gust and Volcano to change people's weapon elements. All monsters take extra damage when attacked by the element of their weakness, so Sages are key in fighting MvPs(boss monsters).
BEST WEAPONS: Books

THIEVES:

2-1 JOB: ASSASSINS/ASSASSIN CROSSES
These are the fighters with the highest of all attack speeds. Their proficiency at using two weapons at once is great for double attacks. If you equip two swords or daggers, the Double Attack skill does 3 hits and gets used almost every attack. If you use katars, you get skills like Grimtooth(attack from afar while hiding) and Sonic Blow (10 very fast hits with increased power). They can also inflict poison and poison damage on enemies and make poison bottles. If a "SinX"(assassin cross) drinks it, they're poisoned but get faster attack, anyone else+ poison bottle=death

2-2 JOB: ROGUES/STALKERS
These guys are WAY fun. They can use Divest skills to remove enemy armor or weapons and prevent re-equipping them, They can also use Paintbrushes or Red gemstones to WRITE MESSAGES ON THE GROUND. Also, they are the only class except archers that can use bows.(And whaddayano, I forgot to write about archers.)

ARCHERS:
They use bows. Durrr. They can use double strafe to shoot 2 arrows with more power each, arrow shower to hit an area of enemies at once, and improve concentration to heighten their DEX, and thus attack power(archers use dex for power instead of str), for a limited time.

2-1 JOB: HUNTERS/SNIPERS
These guys have long range for bow attacks, can lay traps in enemies' wakes to inflict various status effects or keep them in place, and increase walking/attacking speed with Wind Walk. They have about 25 variations of traps, so try different trap skills out to see which ones are best!
BEST WEAPONS: BOWS YOU IDIOT XD

2-2 JOBS:
MALE: BARDS/CLOWNS(also known as MINSTRELS)
FEMALE: DANCERS/GYPSIES
This is a mix between archers and priests. Males and Females are different, and if the two genders work together can make awesome effects with Ensembles. I have a clown myself and go everywhere I want helping people. I also play at weddings.
BEST WEAPONS:
MALE: BOWS, MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS
FEMALE(I am sooooo sued XD): BOWS, WHIPS(YOU HEARD ME.)

MERCHANTS:
BLACKSMITHS/WHITESMITHS
Guess what? Tired of your boring life of buying weapons at overcharged prices? Well not anymore! NOW YOU CAN MAKE AND UPGRADE THEM YOURSELF! You can even fuse elemental stones and weapons to make the weapon elemental (lack of words)
BEST WEAPONS: AXES/HAMMERS

ALCHEMISTS/CREATORS
You can use these guys to make potionsor help level. They can throw grenades for fire areas that stay for awhile, pour acid one neemies for strong combo attacks, or even summon plant type monsters with attack powers from (lvl 1, 5 mandragoras) 50 to (lvl 5, one geographer) 500. You can summon a certain amount of monsters for each level, and combine levels. You can summon 5 mandragoras, 4 hydras, 3 floras, 2 parasites, and one geographer all at once to attack every enemy they see for you.
BEST WEAPONS: AXES/HAMMERS

TAE KWON DO
These guys are definitely my favorite class. They are pure martial arts; don't use weapons or armors of any kind. They can jump across hills and mountainsides noone else can(I've done it on saRO), change their element at will, and have skills like whirlwind kick (area attack around you), round kick( increased attack), flying side kick( regular attack from a distance, very very fast), counter kick, etc. Definitely something to look into.
BEST WEAPON: LIMBS

Update 5/27/06: There are four new classes.

NEW 1st JOBS: NINJA AND GUNSLINGER
NEW 2nd JOBS: SOUL LINKER AND STAR GLADIATOR

NINJA
These guys are AWESOME. Mix a Thief and a Mage and this is what ya get. The Ninja can use floorboards to block attacks (and then throw the board), throw shurikens/kunais, and use skills like Crimson Fire Formation and Lightning Spear of Ice to deal HUGE amounts of elemental damage. They can also use Shadow Jump to cross floors easily--- like the TaeKwon, even going THROUGH obstacles.
BEST WEAPON: LIMBS

GUNSLINGER
These guys are ALSO awesome, but this time a Thief and Archer's lovechild. They use bullets as if they were arrows and can use six-shooters, rifles, grenade launchers, and (get this) GATLING GUNS. They have an ability exactly like the Double Attack skill and can target weak spots on monsters like a knight.
BEST WEAPON: SIX-SHOOTER, RIFLE, GRENADE LAUNCHER, GATLING GUN

STAR GLADIATOR
This is the 2-1 class of the TaeKwon. They keep all of their kicking prowess(and get shoes.) and have map-related skills-- you can designate 3 maps as special PERMANENTLY and deal special statusses and damages to enemies on that map, or do the same with monsters. I never really got the hang of this class...
BEST WEAPON: As always, LIMBS.

SOUL LINKER
This is the 2-2 class of the TaeKwon. They, sadly, lose all of their kicking skills the second you change. They are like a TaeKwon and Priest mix. They are literally Soul Linkers in the fact that almost every one of their skills links the souls of the SL and the character selected. Every class has its own skill (Soul of Knight, Soul of Crusader, etc) and gives a certain special effect... the Star Gladiator even starts flying!
BEST WEAPON: MACE or BOOK.

Gravity has started four new classes--- Ninja and Gunslinger are new first jobs, and the TaeKwon has second classes now. The respective sections are added to the above post.
