Alex

"Watch out! something coming your way, and fast"

Alex pinged again, trying to keep a track of it.. it was annoying she couldnt keep it up constantly, so her updates were probably too late to be any use right now.

She hefted her rifle and concentrated on running towards the fight.. Ideally she would be able to intercept this new person before Leo and the others got attacked... assuming it was going to attack them.. better to be safe than sorry.

If she gets there, she will raise her rifle and take aim , trying to get a clear shot at the opponents she can see, if she is sure she wont hit anyone on her team, she will take a shot, at either the commander, or the newcomer if it looks like it will attack.

Leo, neither Verossa nor Silvia acknowledge your orders but both of them leap forward, on the attack. The four of you (yes, four!) circle the enemy commander like a wolf pack searching for an opening. He lunges at your copy attacking him from the front, who takes his attack head on and holds him in place. While this somewhat one-sided contest of strength is going on, your other double, Verossa and Silvia attack from all sides...an "all-out" attack if you will. You have him cornered! Then you hear a single shot ring out.

Alex, as you emerge from the seminary buildings you see a red shape diving towards Leo from above. Or one of the Leos anyway, you can see two of them. Without thinking you take aim and immediately squeeze off a shot that impacts against the silhouette with a heavy thud. A woman in red armour appears to land awkwardly but is inexplicably on her feet when you see her next. You catch glimpses of what appears to be a harness that attaches mechanical, bird-like wings to her body and they seem to be giving off some kind of unearthly light.

But something isn't right here...she wasn't the signature you were picking up on your ping. By the time you got here that enemy should already have been in battle and she looked like she had just arrived on the scene - on pure instinct you swing around looking for another target and for a split second, you see another, younger, girl lurking around the shadow of the building. Your shot cracks against the paved walkway but the girl is nowhere to be found.

Everyone finds their bodies suddenly bound by an invisible force and the girl is suddenly standing next to the red-armoured woman. Unlike the others she does not appear to be wearing body armour but you can nonetheless see that her barrier jacket is active and materialised. She is dressed in what can only be called a combination of ordinary clothing and an ensemble of chains and straps. It's weird. Nonetheless you can see a silver hawk's talon emblazoned clearly on her clothes. Her arms are spread out and a device glows on her hand.

"Geez", she says, "here you are wasting time again while I'm working my butt off to make sure that the operation goes smoothly. Next time I just won't bother."

The red-armoured woman picks up the box. As she speaks, you recognise her voice as the one that you intercepted from the comms traffic earlier, "The Eye is secure. All forces retreat."

Then three portals open and your opponents are sucked in, leaving you stranded.

"Cadet Team, this is Advisor. Are you alright? What is going on down there?"

Leo

Leo almost couldn't believe his eyes. Bound by an invisible force, letting his enemies have their way with him and the team. They could've killed them, but they didn't. Leo mentally shrugged this off, if you didn't die there was no regret, and if you did you'd be dead so who cares?

After being released, their advisor said something over the intercomm. Leo had forgotten about her.

"Shit happened, and now it's not. Over," said Leo sarcastically. "Alex, is that signature you were chasing still around? I feel like those assholes got their way, but maybe there's something around still worth checking out?"

Alex

Totally useless.. that was how she felt right now.. throughout this entire mission she had done barely anything to help with the mission.. I mean, yes she had detected people around her.. but she hadnt been able to do anything.. her attacks had bounced off of the red clothed woman, and he had missed the girl in those shadows... all she had done was make sure that that guy was dead.. atleast, she hoped she had done...

Alex pinged in response to Leos question.. but she doubted anyone was stilla round, it seemed like the one she was after had been a part of their crew in all probability.

"Advisor.. we took down one of the opponents, but the rest got away cleanly, with whatever they had been after, they called it The Eye, there were three of them, the man, a woman in red armour, and a girl with a silver halks talon sybols on her, we were all pretty much overpowered"

If she detects anyone else in the area Alex will direct the team towards them. Whilst she does this she will check her gun for any damage, and clean up anything that firing may have done.. She hadnt used it much, but that was no reason not to check.

Alex, you don't detect any enemy contacts still in the area. They probably all did retreat. A reply goes out across the comm:

"A silver hawk's talon? That doesn't match any known militants or gangs we have on file but...wait. We have a match. Return to base and you will be debriefed on the situation. I'm signalling for pickup now. Look, don't worry about the mission. As the saying goes, you win some, you lose some. We don't know what the stakes are yet."

You hear a soft humming in the air that steadily grows louder as your transport arrives and touches down. The week has only just begun and it already seems long.

MISSION COMPLETE

For a job well done, command has seen fit to grant you some downtime. If there is any personal business you want to pursue you can post it here or PM me in private if you don't want other players to see (their characters certainly won't know anyway if they're not included/don't spot you, storywise). Yammet, your character may also do whatever he wants during this time. When all personal stuff is complete I will start the next part of the story.

Also, I promise I will not intentionally railroad you like this in future. The main reason was to get Yammet involved as he has been waiting for quite a long time.

Leo

Leo was quite disappointed with the result, but he shrugged it off. The mission was over and it was time to go home. He liked this part most - free time. While he was not mad about obeying orders or listening to superiors, he did like spending "free time" with anyone who would join him.

"Anyone want to join me for a drink? You're all welcome. Of course, Alex will need her ID, since she looks about 6, haha!" said Leo cheerfully.

Alex

Alex didnt hear much of what Leo said, she was already tuning him out, the mission was over, she now hsd no obligations to them until the next training session, or mission, whichever came first.

After being debriefed she aimed to leave, heading back to her home to contemplate.. She didnt allow herself to call it wallowing in defeat.. That was depressing..

She went home and waited for the phone to ring, telling her when to go back in. She half hoped it wasnt going to be for a while.. Leo was annoying.

Leo

Leo watched as Alex walked away without a word. Leo chuckled, he knew she would do this, she wasn't much of a social being. Without further delay, Leo decided to go to the bar and pass out until his next assignment. The lounge was as it always was, dimly lit with dark purple lights, with bright blue neon strips all around. It was a stones throw away from being a strip joint - actually it was a strip joint, but they also happened to serve drinks there. They also had killer buffalo wings from earth. One of the few places that still does them (apart from earth itself).

Leo sat down at the bar and tapped on the wood with his knuckles. The bright lights and ecstasy from the main floor could be felt on Leo's back, almost as if it called him to turn around. He resisted the urge, he always did at first. Not wanting to be caught up in scandals and illustrious affairs. Soon the bar tender arrived, and handed Leo a pair of underwear. They were his, but he couldn't remember where he had lost them. Or with whom. But he thanked the barman with a curt nod.

"The usual," said Leo, spinning around on his chair to watch the show. The barman pulled out two vials and a glass. One red, and one blue.

"Blue, please," said Leo, without even looking back at the bar tender. The man slowly poured out the blue liquid into the glass. The liquid had a weird glow, like a self-illumination. The glass glowed a calming blue, and the light pulsed ever so gradually. Leo pulled out a pendant from under his shirt, he flicked it open to reveal a picture of a girl. She was an alien, earthen toned with blue markings. Her eyes were large, squid-like, the deepest black possibly imaginable. She had no hair, but instead large, soft-looking spikes that reached to her neck.

Leo snapped the pendant shut and put it away. He picked up his glass and downed the blue liquid in a heart beat. "One more time!" he yelled, cheeks slightly flushed.

Flu

Flu was sitting in his room at the TSA waiting to be called into action. He knew that the mission he is deployed to will be tough, but he hoped there were others who were more offensive then he.
Flu picked up a book called The Art Of Healing. This book was about how a person becomes a support person in a battle. He sat reading the book waiting to get the call.

Okay so, uh, everyone goes about doing their own thing and you get about a day's worth of rest and recuperation. Since you all took off, Verossa and Silvia were left to file the after-action report and look none too happy about it the next day. Of course it was only a little extra work since they just took most of the data from your devices but still, it looks like neither of the siblings are morning people. You enter the TSAB's main complex and walk straight past the main lobby. People are milling about on their daily business, nothing particularly special to note.

Alex and Leo, you enter the rapid transit tube hub along with Verossa, Silvia and another weird person you've never seen before (Flu). The module stops at the next area and two blue-haired ladies in the Bureau's armed forces uniform get on. The short-haired one brings up the destination display and chooses the Naval Offices while the long-haired one heads to your destination: Special Tasks and Tactics. She doesn't really speak to you much and goes on her way quite quickly, presumably having some sort of urgent appointment.

The Advisor from the previous day greets you at the front office of the STT wing. She motions for you to follow, not quite smiling but she appears open and friendly enough. She leads you into a room and waits for you to settle down before speaking.

"Our analysts have picked up a lead. Although we couldn't recover any evidence as to the identity of the attackers from the site itself, we did manage to capture an image of the emblem you reported."

She taps the floating holo-display and a new image appears - the same silver hawk's talon that you saw.

"After looking at after-action footage we've found that the others you faced all wore the same symbol. At least we know they're all with the same group; we can rule out independent actors. What's most puzzling however, is that this symbol isn't used by any terrorist group, but by a corporation: Tolar Light Industries. They aren't a very big corporation but they do manufacture and invest a lot into research on high end technological pieces. Things along the lines of your devices, microprocessing equipment, cybernetic implants and so on. We can't find any information about the Demon's Eye at the moment and we're petitioning the Church to find out more. For now, maybe you can investigate this lead. Find out how the weapons and technology that group had ties into Tolar and whether or not they are working for them. The higher ups don't care how you do it as long as it gets done."

Alex

"Morning Verossa, Morning Silvia.. Thanks for sorting out the report... Ill do it next time, let you take a break from it next time.... oh Leo.. Greetings Flu, nice to meet you, Im Alex"

She couldnt imagine that this would make them that happy to be honest... but it was better than pretending that nothing had happened.. Far easier to just talk it out than sit in silence.. even if she preferred it that way.

She stayed still, listening to the advisor as she was brifed on the next part of the mission.. Information gathering.. interesting.

"When you say that they dont care how it is done, do you mean that they dont care how overtly we ask the questions? Like.. Can we balst the door down and go in guns blazing? Or is this strictly a covert mission?"

Ok.. so maybe that example was really extreme... but it needed to be asked. It would be simpler.. if harder if this was a stealth mission.. pretty linear afterall, and fixed objectives... If they had to work out how to do it normall.. things could get interesting.

Leo's day of recuperation was short lived. But it always seemed that way. He barely got a moment to relax before the next mission, but that was the charge of a prisoner. With a sigh, he decided to meet his comrades once more. There was a new guy, someone he hadn't seen before. Alex introduced herself, and as usual was cold towards Leo. He laughed inwardly, she was a tough nut to crack.

"Jeez Alex, you're always so cold. Maybe I should warm you up in the bed room?" joked Leo. She really wasn't his type, he prefered hot-blooded women, not cold blooded lizards.

Varossa and Silvia didn't look happy about filing the reports, but the last time Leo tried he just got drunk and wrote a bunch of nonsense. It was better they did it than everyone get in trouble. But he never said that much, though he was sure they would remember if pressed. The commander spoke in a dull, dreary tone.

Leo closed his eyes and pretended he wasn't listening. That was until they gave them free reign to do it their way. Leo perked up, perhaps this would be interesting in the end.

"Whatever you say dude. I say we go in classy-like. No need for a fight unless they want one, wouldn't you agree new guy?" said Leo, addressing Flu. "What's your name anyway, or are you the strong, silent type? I bet Alex would like that."

Flu
Flu was called, slitley annoyed to have to put his book down, but, oh well.
He met up with four people in a transit tube, not knowing if they would be accompanying him on this next mission. They made it to the briefing room. He listened to his dipoles give the orders when two of the four members introduced themselves.
Hello Alex. Nice to meet you too. He said with a straight tone. He listened to the briefing some more until Alex asked a question of how overt they could be on an information gathering mission.
My name is Flu. And yes I believe if we can avoid fighting the better off we will be. Oh, I am not the strong silent type either... Whats your name.
