Do you set goals?

Well, do you?

I usually say that I am going to finish this chapter or get to this part of the story. I never say that I am going to write for 20 minutes. Because then, I spend more time thinking than I do writing. So, I always set amount goals rather than time goals.

Well, me and Hopeless Romantic once had a writing bee where we had to write or help the other one write from thirty minutes. But, I kept getting interrupted by my family.

I normally say I'm going to finish a chapter by a certain date, or write a certain part I don't particularly want to write by a certain date.

Don't always make those goals though....

Than, again, my stories I'mt alking about are fanfictions, so they are on the net, and people wait to read them.

When I was writing my first story, which I still have not finished yet, I gave myself a week or two to write ten pages in my notebook, because at the time, I only wrote before I went to bed, and I was so busy at the time.

I'm a hard-core goal setter! I usually only write in bed before I go to sleep, so here I am, writing in my notebook, and I start to get tired. So I put a dot in the margin about fifteen to twenty lines down, and I say; 'I have to write to that line before I am allowed to go to sleep.'

And, surprisingly, I do.

That's an awesome goal. I'm going to try that.

That is an awsome idea! Only I would probably put the dot like... three pages away. Cuz I hate sleeping and I always fight until I collapse with no energy left.

But I usually say when I'll get the next chapter done or what story I'll work on before I work on something else. (this last one goes especially for fanfictions.)

I agree, that's a great idea! Usually, I don't set goals - I just make up my mind where I want to write to, according to what my mood is. Otherwise, I feel like I'm writing an essay.

I normally write till I can't think of anything. But, then again, I also write until I have to quit, like when my mother calls me. LOL

I kinda write until I feel tired - then I save it and read it again when I wake and adjust it ... it kinda works

I write when i feel like writting. or when i get DYOJS (Design your own Jate scene) requests over at LF, i do try to get it up asap.. but i never set a goal.. when i do, i don't keep it.. soo..

AWWW! I love DYOJS, the only thing I have against them is the intense fluffyness, I mean, I'm ALL for fluff. But sometimes, there's definitely a limit to how much I can take... lol

Haha, I forgot to say what goals I set! (6 months later, but shh...) I have 5 books going now currently. lol my brain just doesn't stop! My goal for my current book - Weekend At Towzer Lake - is to finish it by August 30, writing 2,000 words a day... but currently I'm 10k behind... -screams- lol

But yeah... that's my goal for now!
