What species can I play?
Aside from witches and wizards (and Squibs and Muggles) there are plenty of canon species. Non-human canons are fine, and can be applied for without prior notice. For an original character, though, just run it by me first.
What goes on the board, and what goes in the 18+ forum?
Well, the whole board has an R rating, so swearing, violence, and some naughtiness is fine on most of the public boards. For graphic sex or torture, though, please hit the adults-only forum.
Can you add a forum for a certain place I need to post in?
We're very happy to listen to suggestions for forums, so do ask. Mind you, we may only add it if it's going to be used a lot.
Any in-character info on Healers/Aurors/Hit Wizards?
The Adult World Information subforum has the Sanctuary-established career information in it. Training and salary are covered (briefly) and if you'd like us to cover another career, we'd be happy to.
How does the staff deal with their own apps?
We ask a couple of players to go over our applications to ensure that we don't wind up just accepting each other's (or our own) characters. We have no intention of perpetrating, allowing, or condoning favouritism or bias. Anyone who believes that we're breaking our code on that is encouraged to bring the matter to us. We rely on your perspectives to check that we're being true to our morals.
Is it okay to use a coded plot-page for my personal plottage thread?
We'd never forbid you from using those as some players are fond of them. However, our members generally like to discuss plottage rather than claim lyrics, so it might be best if you restrict the pretty codes to the character's introduction, then throw some cookies at us. Pretty up your page all you wish, just please don't make me quote Hilary Duff lyrics and pick 'besties' instead of talking about interaction and backstory.
What kind of PBs can I choose?
All we require is that the PB be of a real person - not a drawing - and they represent the basic characteristics of your character. And please, don't use a PB of yourself or your friends (you'd be amazed how many players do that). You don't have to use a PB at all if you don't want to, though.

4.) It's actually quite hard to get banned from Sanctuary, but if I catch any guest mouthing off about a member, I will banhammer them into next Tuesday and I will not feel guilty about it.
