though everyone calls him Chris. He is
officially 30 years old and in UNIT, but also an Alien, but pssht… don’t tell anyone! He
looks a lot like Cam Gigandet, which is really cool, right?

Christopher Shaw is a simple human. He grew up in an unimportant town in the US, nothing worth mentioning. He was never interested in school and had accordingly bad grades. The only thing he was good at was athletics. Instead of studying he developed his own opinion, his personality and his values. That didn’t change the fact that with his final report he would certainly not get a good job.
He joined the army, willingly. Dedicated to his nation and the challenge he was willing to stay and rise in rank. He was a promising member, but soon was invited to join UNIT. Skeptical at first he soon realized the advantages: another, maybe better, way to help his country.
In UNIT however he needed to start anew and somehow he also didn’t seem to rise anymore. At one point he was sent with a few others to fetch an alien body and that’s when his life changed.
First, he started to hear voices in his head, then he had strange dreams, he saw things that no one else saw and finally he felt familiar with the alien body, images of it haunting his mind. There was blood and weapons, and
another death…
This went on for three years, he visited one or two psychologists, but he didn’t trust them, never liked them and his dreams made him believe they wanted to manipulate him, enter his mind and make him do something terrible.
These effects left their marks on him: Chris lost weight and a lot of hair, he suffered from sleep deprivation and physical exhaustion since he trained out a lot to keep his mind busy; he was constantly pale and dark rings were under his eyes.
But after three years it was over, almost…
There’s a species out there that has no name, that no one knows of beside one other race. They are not born with conscience, not born with a personality, no identity. Only by merging with a host they can live and gain all these. They conserve memories and transfer them to their next host if they so wish.
One of these aliens served hundreds of years as a memory transmitter. He slowly started to develop his own views on life, he didn’t want to participate in war anymore, didn’t want to be an inanimate soul anymore. So the moment he took over a new and inexperienced host he assaulted his mind, winning dominance of the body and fled. This had never happened before so the race that used him was pretty much stomped and couldn’t stop him. The alien didn’t care that the other “individuals” of his race would suffer more now; he wanted his freedom, he deserved it.
With the knowledge of centuries of strategy and a physically strong host he ended up as a paid assassin. It was better than war, but he hadn’t planned that, hadn’t wanted that. He had tried normal jobs, had worked as a cleaner even, but it seemed he was drawn to violence and blood and he gave in. He made himself a name as “Eyvin”, having randomly picked that up.
It didn’t take long until he pissed off certain groups no one should really piss off. He was taken prisoner and got tortured, a foretaste of what was supposed to happen to him. However, Eyvin had no intention to let it go so far so he escaped. He used a teleportation device, transporting him to a random planet. That planet, of course, turned out to be earth. There he realized the otherness of the species and their lack of knowledge about the universe. Eyvin soon was hunted and he needed to give up his body in order not die with his host. He did the only thing possible and desperately possessed a human.
You can imagine the rest, he slowly manipulated him, his mind, his vision, his body… He browsed in Chris’ mind to learn about the world and after three years he thought he was ready. Eyvin took over the body and eased the tension, knowing what to do.
After finally having control of a body again Eyvin wanted nothing more than to move, make his own experiences, live again. It’s what had driven him away from the planet he was “born” in the first place and now he was stuck in the same situation again. Only this time he couldn’t get away. He cursed the humans for their short lives, their lack of knowledge, their underdevelopment and their ignorant behavior towards violence and cruelty while they themselves craved blood. He knew it; he had seen it in the man’s mind. They fought war and yet they pretended to be “good”. Eyvin had encountered this morality system before and having lived hundreds of years in a place where it didn’t exist he would never understand it.
Eyvin didn’t have a problem with his new body. He had been in many bodies, switching them like a human would switch clothes. That way he could get close to his prey without them suspecting a thing. But no species had ever known so little about the universe. He wouldn’t be able to get away this time, he was stuck. Originally he had planned to steal a spaceship, had planned to find out how…. His frustration had been vast when he realized the state of the planet. But he would find a way out, he knew that, he would get away… he would wait patiently, just like he had before.
So he did just what he needed to. He went to work just as usual, pretending to be Chris. He was skilled, he knew more than the others, much more, and it was no surprise when he got promoted. Being a field officer made him wary, he shouldn’t give too much away.
It’s been a year now and to Eyvin’s surprise Chris still hasn’t given up, he still exists and he still fights.
The individual called Eyvin is a rather hotheaded fellow, but at the same time can show infinite patience. As the species who served as his first host he’s rather narrow-minded when it comes to the views on life. He believes violence is part of life, but also not necessary. There is no good or evil in his vision, only skilled or weak, able to understand up for themself or weak. Eyvin sees himself as superior and would only accept him being inferior if another one would outwit him, either in a conversation or a fight. Since he has experience of centuries of war and decades of travelling in the universe he does have a point there. Yet he doesn’t know everything and the unwillingness to believe that fact makes him a stubborn individual. He is indeed able to question himself, but he only accepts suggestions and criticism by people who showed their worthiness of his respect. Humans definitely do not belong in that category.
Outwards he pretends to be very patient and friendly, someone you could trust, but it’s a truth that he often thinks of how easy it would be to just sneak up and kill a human by breaking their neck. Obviously it sometimes shows on his face, but he brushes it off by blaming it on something casual.
