Having to move out of our home, After being here 15 yrs

It's been hard for me to put in to words about moving. But as of yesterday our landlord told us we have 30 days in which to move. He is selling this house. We have been here nearly 16 yrs and things have gotten rougher for us.The landlord has been saying for years he wanted to get out of the business of renting also. He has this house and one more besides it. Now we 're going to start looking around and see if we can also get help with the rent and deposit as well. We have a lot of things to go through here and won't be taking with us. Also the fact is I'm losing my job in 2 weeks as well. I don't think I could take anymore bad news as it is now. If it comes down to it I might have to put this board on Offline till we get settled. In the mean time I'm still here but facing the fact I'm not looking forward to what's coming, the Unknown. Yes I'm scared, we wouldn't be? Right now we are both praying and asking God for his help in all this. Have someone coming to look at the house tomorrow (Wed) and I won't be here when they get here. Since I have to go to work. I have decided one thing is for sure, I'm not giving up just yet. Hugs, Margie

Bless your heart Margie, That is a rough road to travel. I know you will come out of it though. Sorry to hear it is so hard on you. 16 years is a long time to call a place home.

If I had some way of helping (as would many) you would get it right away. I can lend cyber support and encouragement though. don't worry about your board. I'm sure the members here will continue to come and post and love to see you when you can drop in till you get settled.

This is terrible news. I hope and pray you find a better house for less rent. If you can't take your stuff with you, hope that you can store it some where. If not maybe you could have a yard sale and that way you get rid of the belongings and get some money for the move. Margie, I know exactly what you are going through. My husband and I have been in that position twice, hence us living with the inlaws or Trolls as I so fondly refer to them. The landlord here is elderly as well and wants out of the rental business too, so who knows. We've got a years lease so that is good for that length of time anyway. I pray you will find something. And if you decide to take the boards offline that is ok, but i'm sure there are enough of us that can keep things going in your absence.

It's been my lot in life since I moved down here Margie. But after having to go through it for the last 3 years I can sympathize dearly. And yes please keep the board open.

Thanks again all. Working on getting a home for us as we speak. Will know more in the next few days. It's in the same block as we are so won't be hard to move. Had to take our dog Sassy to the vet yesterday. She had allergies and was scratching so much it make her life miserable.She also had worms but much better now. She is a happy dog and no more scratching. Amen to that.

We got the keys to the house we are moving into yesterday. Now the fun begins for us. 15 yrs of moving and believe you me it will be something else. LOL!!!!
