The great news is that 'Ringsport' magazine will be making its return in August. Dennis Lord has asked me to take over as Editor and the magazine will be totally dedicated to the history of professional wrestling.

The first edition will be twenty pages with four of those in colour (front, back and inside front/back). Contents are really coming along well and here's what we've got lined up for this comeback edition:

* We take a look at the comeback of Johnny Saint. There's an article about his USA debut earlier this year and we've got quotes from Colt Cabana talking about his recent match with Johnny in Sheffield plus pics from both shows

* There's a two-page tribute to the late Mal 'King Kong' Kirk. This is our middle page spread and Mal is also on the front cover. The article is being written with help from his daughter Natasha, Tony 'Banger' Walsh and Jon Ritchie.

* Klondyke Kate looks back at one of the most important matches in her career. This will be a regular feature so if any former pro wrestlers on this forum want to contribute then just email me at: mageditoruk@googlemail.com

* There's an interview with Brian 'Goldbelt' Maxine looking back at his career and we also chat to WWE Hall of Famer George 'The Animal' Steele

* We take a look at websites that cover wrestling history

* There's reviews of two books about Pat Roach and a biography of Bruiser Brody.

* We preview the Southern Wrestler's Reunion and look back at its history

* There's an article on the history of wrestling booths with help from Michael Fage

* We'll be paying tribute to Evan R Treharne and there's a classic Ringsport article from the 1960s.

* There's a look back at events from August in days gone by including details of a shirt ripping contest and a strike.

* There's our Poster of the Month and some photos of stars from the past

* A review of this year's WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.


'Ringsport' will be a monthly publication and we've been in touch with the British Wrestler's Reunion and the plan is for copies to be available at the Southern Wrestler's Reunion.

This first copy will cost £2 at the reunion and £2.50 when posted out with a slightly higher cost for overseas sales. Hopefully in the coming months the magazine will grow in size.
