Duet, the 50ft gaff yawl, known to so many as a founding vessel of the Ocean Youth Club and of the sail training movement in the UK is to celebrate her 100th birthday and London 2012 with a voyage around Britain crewed by young people from across the UK.
She starts from London on Monday 28th May with a group of young care leavers from Barnardo's. She has spent more than half her life giving young people the chance to go to sea having taken more than 8,000 young people since 1960. For this special voyage we would like to invite you to follow her adventure. We are especially interested to hear from people who sailed aboard Duet in their youth. Please do any. or all, of the following: 'Subscribe' at www.cirdantrust.org/v2s 'Like' Cirdan Sailing Trust on Facebook 'Follow' @CirdanTrust on Twitter You can send good luck messages to the groups of young people. Few, if any, have sailed before and most have faced considerable disadvantage in their lives. Of course it is an officail Olympic project as well so look out for Duet in Weymouth for the opening ceremony and London for the closing ceremony of you know what! Thanks for your support.
