The arena, Where festivals and bouts occur

This place is huge!! In fact, there are over 20 ways to get in. But no one seems to be here right now, seeing the weather is not very outdoor friendly.

Lindsay falls softly down. She is first surprised by the cold. Luckily, she was warned to dress warm. She is waiting for the others to arrive so they can see what they are going to do. She thinks she hears something, but with this place being unfamiliar and compliacted, she decides to not do anything for now, seeing that the sound is distant and sounds more like laugther instead of any thing threatning.

[Paul Grimm]

A minute later there is a soft thud nearby. It is quickly followed by a second. Standing there is Paul Grimm, who is looking around the arena with a piercing stare. Standing next to him is Zaku. He looks tired, and has a right to be after nearly being killed twice in one day. He is looking around as well.

A few seconds after Paul and Zaku arrice, hibryd lands near them as well.

"How long is Rukia going to be?" hibryd asked quietly. "This is her home, isn't it? I want to get going."

Rukia steps though the portal as well. "Sorry I'm late. Dryad gave me one last peice of information. She told me that currently the entrace to the grave is in disrepair, so it was best for us to head to the school. Now, anyone wanting to go to the grave should come with me to the village academy. Anyone wanting to follow up on the Atrentis lead should head over to that castle over yonder." She points to a elegant, but eerie castle partially hidden by the shadows. "Please, stay close. the people will recognize me and they'll feel relaxed seeing me with you guys. Rukia jogged off. The group hears the noise again. Are they going to the casle of mist, following Rukia or investigating the sound?

Katsuya appears from a portal, but wastes no time admiring the scenery. He quickly rushes to search the village for hibryd, on an agenda that not even hibryd knows about.

Paul appears, walking back into the arena as he looks around the place. What exactly its use was in modern times was unknown to him, but it also wasn't that important. He stopped and looked around.
"Now what had that fairy said about the Amazons here?" he asked aloud as he thought.

The entire team is looking around. There is plenty of light, thanks to the torches around the arena. A expected, the noise has died down. It's pretty quiet now. Too quiet. "Guys, I can't help but feel that we are being watched" commented Rukia. "Paul, what's your call? Should we come back at dawn?" asked Lindsay.

[Paul Grimm]

"My call? If we're being watched, I want to know by who. They better show themselves before I find them and drag them out here to do it." Paul said, raising his voice so it echoed in the arena.

He stood there, relaxed and calm, looking around. Truth was, he wanted something to do. He was restless already.

Just as Paul finished saying that, Rukia hushed them and pointed ahead of them. At first, they saw nothing, but then all three noticed that there were three beings walking towards them. As soon as they were in sight, there was no mistaken it. "It's them!" cried Lindsay. Indeed it was the dopplegangers. All three of them looked like Paul, Lindsay, and Rukia and once they were closer, they drew thier weapons and charged without any warning or word. "Their weapons, they look like ours!" pointed out Lindsay. But no time for talk now. Paul's doppleganer had already leaped and brandished his Masamune at Paul!

Rukia however intercepted but also taking out her Requiem katana and using a stylish sword technique, attacked the doppleganger with both her swords, which was enough to drive it back in midair. Paul noticed that Lindsay's doppleganger was preparing to attack Rukia in midair. Without even thinking, Paul charged and used the power of the Masamune to strike the doppleganger with a powerful strike. The attack was so powerful, it hit all three dopplegangers at once. They all gave beastly grunts of pain, but despite the attacks given them, there was no sign of bleeding or dismemberment. In fact, as they were falling, they quickly recovered on thier feet and prepared to attack again. Paul once again swung his sword viciously and managed to damage the female dopplegangers while Paul's blocked. But no sooner had Paul finished the attack that his own doppleganger counted and gave Paul a sadistic slice to the gut. For most people, that should have been enough to slice one in half, but the Hell's Design protected him from getting cut. Continuning with the onslaught, Rukia's doppleganger brought her down down on Paul while he was still on the ground. Luckily he blocked it and managed to get up while pushing the doppleganger off. Off in the corner, Lindsay tried to assist, but was intercepted by her own doppleganger and with a few quick swipes of the phantom Phoenix Blade, Lindsay was knocked down injured. Paul roared and attacked the Rukia and Paul dopplegangers that were attacking him. By using melee attacks, dopplegangers went flying, but didn't stay down for long. Rukia leaped on Paul's shoulders to gain off and used him to catapult herself toward the dopplegangers. She took out her chain whip and started to whip the dopplegangers. While there was no doubt that the attack was hurting them, there was once again no ripped flesh or blood. Rukia contined her assault, but the Rukia doppleganger stopped the whip using her arm and was about to stab her when Paul stepped in again and struck the doppleganger with another slam of his sword. The monster let Rukia go and fell. The other two dopplegangers ganged up on Paul, who was forced to block. He managed to retreat a little and all three heroes regrouped back to back. The Paul doppleganger rushed and tried to use the power of the phantom Masamune. Paul once again countered the attack. "Quick everyone. Come to me!" yelled Rukia. Paul obyed and jumped back. Both Lindsay and Paul noticed that Rukia activated her mark and was preparing to attack. By now all three dopplegangers were rushing foward, but when Rukia done with her hand signs, shadow shuriken flew out from her hands whenever she shot them foward. Then Rukia started to continue to move her hands while the three dopplegangers were caught in a vortex of the shadow shuriken. The attack was devestating and seemed to be requiring a lot of chi. Lindsay figured she needed the mark for that purpose. Despite the attack being strong, it didn't last long and the dopplegangers once again fell after roaring but they didnt fall dead yet.

The Lindsay doppleganger charged again and tried to attack Rukia, but Paul intercepted and he was stabbed instead of her. He grabbed the dopplegangers arm in the middle of it's follow up attack and threw it away. Then Lindsay countered the Paul doppleganger who was trying attack attack again with a few vertical strikes. Paul tried to assist, but he was surprised when the female dopplegangers attacked him from the back, one with a slice to the back and the other lifting him in the air with a swift, terrible kick to the chin. Then while in the air, the Rukia doppleganger jumped up and drop kicked him down. Pau got up himself, but a little slower this time. After all, he was still hurting from Malfina's assault. He tried to block the Lindsay's doppleganger attack but when the Paul one tried to get a cheap shot in, he was forced to attack it, leaving him open to a full delta attack from all three dopplegangers. Once it was over, Paul dropped dead. "Damn!" yelled Rukia. "It's okay don't worry. This is good actually" said Lindsay. Sure enough, a few seconds later, Paul's corpse glowed and was restored

Both Rukia and Lindsay helped Paul up. "Damn! What are they?!" he cried as he got up. He just lost one of his sunshine. "It's not like we are even hurting them" added in Rukia. "No, we are" Lindsay said. "If you look closly, you can see our blows on thier bodies, but it seems they are continually patching them up." "What do you make of thier weapons?" asked Rukia. "They do indeed look like ours, just like Hibryd said about the Destroyer. Now whether they can do the same attacks, let's just hope not. "HERE THEY COME!" cried Lindsay. All three warriors charged ahead once more.

Paul started off by charging up his sword and swinging down with tremendous force. It was so strong, all three dopplegangers had to block it. But Paul was hoping for that, for that attack left them all open for a graceful attack from Lindsay. Of course, the dopplegangers were relentless, attackling Lindsay still while they were being slashed and stabbed themselves. Both Paul and Lindsay were receiving attacks, when Rukia came in, charged chi into her palm and slammed it on the ground. The attack blasted the dopplegangers into the air again. Thought hurting from the storng attacks, Lindsay and Paul took advantage of the opening. Lindsay used elemental attacks with her sword and Paul added in dark magic attacks fueled by his masamune. The dopplegangers growled in pain and collapsed on the floor, but of course, jumped right up. All three heroes kept up the pressure, using the energy from thier swords to launch thier enhanced attacks. Both the Lindsay and Rukia dopplegangers took most of them. The Paul one slinked away but then did something unexpected. "Corrupted Fireball" yelled the doppleganger. Paul's eyes widened in shock. Both women were hit by the attack and were thrown back. Paul managed to block. "Crap! They can use our attacks!" cried Paul. Both women were on fire, but quicky put themselves out. They were suffering from back burns though. But while he was worried about the girls, the Paul doppleganger silently rushed Paul and drove the phantom Masamune right through him. Then he maliciously ripped it out. The Hell's Design oncd again saved Paul from a grusome death. "I'm tired of this! Everyone, use thier marks!" yelled Lindsay. All obeyed. The three heroes, using the marks power launched a combo attack so quick, that the dopplegangers could only recieve it. When they were knocked down again, Paul used another magic spell. "Corrupted lightning bolt!" Paul conjured dark energy which hit dead on the dopplegangers. All three screeched in pain. The three heroes tried to keep them in the air, but the Lindsay doppleganger used the power of the phoenix blade to created a mountain of earth, which the heroes crahsed into.

Paul was tired of this. He also realized something: the Paul Doppleganger was actually the most dangerous. He wasn't being concieted or anything, he just realized one thing: he was the only one who could keep up with his speed! So, best ot take that one out, and he had an idea on how to do it. He jumped back so he was lined up with the Paul in the air, and jumped.

He was in the air above the others, coming down at the Paul one, his sword in his left hand, ready to strike. When he swung, the Paul doppleganger blocked it, and realized the problem. In Paul's left hand was his normal blade. Already it was cracking, threatening to break. His right hand was raised, and in it was his Masamune! He swuck down, aiming to stick the doppleganger through the head. He didn't plan to end there; he lanned to flood dark energy through the blade and force the doppleganger to explode!

The Masamune indeed struck the doppleganger as planned. Paul began to flood the doppleganger with dark energy as planned. But there was one problem, two actually, and that was the other dopplegangers. Paul was surprised when something stuck itself into his neck. He coughed up blood. It was a serrated blade attacthed to a wire. The Rukia doppleganger threw it at him. It appeared that she was about to rip it out, when the real Rukia stepped in and cut the blade. Paul took the blade out. Despite him feeling the pain from the attacks, his real body remained ungored. But the pain at this point was getting unbearable. Not to mention, the Hell's Design was now bugging him more then ever. In fact, it's influence talked to him again. *Give yourself to me. I can give you victory* it said. Though she just helped him, the Rukia doppleganger was just thrown into the air by the lindsay doppleganger and axe kicked in midair by the Rukia doppleganger. Because of that, she couldn't land cleanly. It seemed the attack stunned her a bit. That was bad, because the Lindsay doppleganger brought up her sword and impaled Rukia on it. A attack so gruesome, both Paul and Lindsay had to look away. They turned back in time to see Rukia savagly thrown down.

The dopplegangers started to advance on Lindsay and Paul. But sure enough, Rukia rose a few seconds later. She pulled out her old energy pistol and unloaded on the dopplegangers. The blast were vicious. "I got killed again! Damn it all!" yelled Rukia. She charged foward fearlessly. Paul and Lindsay did the same. It was time for another round.

Lindsay reached into her back pouch and out of it pulled out something unexpected. It was that sycthe she recieved. But there was no time to counter. The Paul doppleganger was right on target and with a Paul-copied sword technique, he struck both Paul and Lindsay. Not only that, the Lindsay doppleganger switche weapons too. She pulled out a sycthe that looked just like the real Lindsays! "They can use our weapons too?!" cried Rukia. Paul and Rukia were forced to go on the defensive. Rukia reached into her kimono and pulled out smoke bombs and threw them right at the dopplegangers, which distracted them. Rukia then sprinted toward the dopplegangers, grabbd the Paul one and threw it at the Lindsay doppleganger. The Rukia doppleganger rushed foward and started to do a barrage of melee moves againest Rukia. All she could do was block the forceful moves. Lindsay took the opportunity to position herself between the charging dopplegangers and started to swing the sycthe. Her large swing sliced all all three. Paul noticed that whenever Lindsay struck, yellow and blue lines went from her enemies into her, and that the more times this happened, the more agile, stronger and also more healthier Lindsay became. Was that the Soul Crush power that was talked about. That didn't happen until they activated thier marks. Maybe Paul should utitlize his power as well, the one given to him by Melfina.
