Avery is an intensely complicated man, with a dark and dangerous past that he prefers to keep a secret. He often comes across as intimidating, as he is quite broad shouldered and tall in stature. Capitolites love him like there's no tomorrow, and they especially enjoy his air of mystery and sometimes eccentric ways.
As a Gamemaker he's shrewd and calculating, although he feels a lot of empathy for the Tributes and wishes he could make it easier on them, or stop the Games altogether. Avery is the proud owner of an inner Revolutionary who's simply waiting for the time to strike out against someone... or something.

Avery Hex has friends? Well, that's something new. There are a select few that he would allow to become more than acquaintances, who would go through years of intense scrutiny from both himself and the Government, the latter of which keeps a fairly close watch on him thanks to the orders of the President. He keeps most people at arm's length as a result of his past and his present. It should be mentioned that although he's considered a great friend of the President, Avery is in actual fact being blackmailed by him. Quite often with him, things are not what they seem.

[ENEMIES]
[dohtml]

It would make sense if Avery Hex were to have a few enemies. After all, he is a Gamemaker and despite being lauded in the Capitol they are generally despised in the Districts. Unlike some Gamemakers, however, he does appear to make an honest effort to speak to the Tributes, as well as considering them in the Gamemaking process and as such is generally the spokesperson for the Gamemaker board. It's a tenuous position which has earned him some enmity from within the Government and an even closer watch from the President. Avery Hex therefore lives on the edge of a rather gilded blade.

[LOVERS]
[dohtml]

Prostitutes, amorous women and even an Avox lover litter his past. He's quite picky about who graces his bed, though, and generally if you've made the cut he will treat you with a respect and sincerity that is nigh on unheard of in the Capitol. Out of all the categories, it is perhaps the lovers with whom he relaxes the most. Perhaps it's the physical exertion that unwinds him and opens that steel trap he has for a mouth?

There is quite the age difference here but I think Ginny and Avery would either get get along well or butt heads fabulously! As for how they know each other, I have a bit of an idea that I think will be fun. Kelly's mother (who is waiting to be approved) was the first victor and now helps 'take care of' Snow's adversaries. While Ginny wouldn't know anything about his being blackmailed, her mother might be involved somehow and they have met at some point through the years because of it. Yay or nay?

Sorry for not prettifying this - will do that later (maybe). Anyway, I really like the idea - I can see Avery keeping Ginevra fairly close (in a fake friend capacity or whatever) so that he could use that against her mother maybe? Or at least ward off her mother somewhat, because they're both aware of what one another is capable of, and Ginevra's completely in the dark about it (yay! another secret for Avery! :P) Anyway, that's my take - whatcha think?

Sooo I'm lazy and didn't change accounts - not to mention I'm totally shirking on prettifying stuff... but I love this idea! The first time I read this I imagined her meeting him a couple of times at parties and so on, then just randomly turning up at his apartment some time and being like 'so, invite me in for a drink' - which would totally set him on his back foot, lol. But I definitely agree - these two need to get together and make a beautiful friendship. Best thing is, I just have no idea how these two would turn out... they're like wild cards XD

jair alighieri - December 28, 2011 04:31 AM (GMT)
At some point I can make this look pretty… … at some point… Anyway, I had this idea for these two. Considering Avery's pre-gamemaker past, and Jair's long history as an agent for the Capitol, I think Jair would have known who Avery was and would've been pretty wary of him. Even when Avery became a gamemaker, he'd be highly suspicious and Jair would've really disdained him, seeing the kind of fighting he did as superfluous and pointless, and seeing the job as gamemaker as some sort of undeserved trophy-prize. However, in Jair's current state, he's kind of more sympathetic to Avery and would actually want to help for an rebellious thing, but he's kind of burned so many bridges before now that it's difficult (or near impossible) to have any sort of friendship. Basically, snarky comments, insults, and glares abound, despite Jair tryyyying to make amends somehow. Lemme know what you think? xD

Hurr hurr~ Perhaps a bit of these two could go on? Kingston wouldn't be a fan of Avery because he's a Capitolite but if he got the sense that Avery could possibly be on his side ... well ... all the magic would happen. All. The. i dont remember how much you said was public about avery's life but sapphire would be attracted to him. she would probably have pictures of the gamemaker up in her room, sort of like a fangirl. and if she ever finds out about his past a little more, i could see that only sweetening the pot more. granted she's way too young for either of them to grace beds with, but that would not stop sapphire from ever bumping into him, flirting, and basically picturing him naked lol

Heh. I'm sure Kingston could find some reason to wind up in the Capitol. Not that he enjoys going but I'm sure he could be dragged along to connect with some family members on his mom's side. His mum was born in the Capitol and for whatever reason moved out to District Eight but I'd imagine it'd make sense for her to force him to go interact and show her family that he's been doing well and making good of his life. Aha. And while he may not know about rebellious tendencies, he does happen to have a couple informants who lurk around the Capitol. Not that they'd know everything going on in the Capitol but they could know a thing or two as far as directing him towards a more cause-y place that only those involved would recognize what it was really for~ And when in doubt, to catch a Kingston, provide an open bar. ;D

avery hex - February 27, 2012 07:37 AM (GMT)
Sapphire: Haha, I can see this being quite amusing. Avery doesn't really like the little following of fangirls that's built up around him, but he has to 'play nice' as it were. So, I can imagine numerous little meetings where Avery tries to extract himself and Sapphire basically fawns over him and won't let him go. Thoughts?

Kingston: So, here's my idea... Avery hosts a private party, Kingston (after somehow hearing about an offhand remark Avery made, or something of the like) hangs around until he's the last person left and confronts Avery about his being a Gamemaker, infuriates him so much he lets something out and then draws him into the rebellion somewhat against his will?

That. Would be. If I had a gif, I'd be using it to describe how my jaw is just on the floor. Because I've never thought of Kingston manipulating someone his way (even though it makes all the sense in the world seeing as he lies during his barters -.-") and into the Rebellion. That'd be some really sketchy stuff but it would be beautiful~ I'd have to learn some pressure points for Sir Avery here but it'd definitely be something different for King who is oddly fascinated by it in my head. Then again this is from the man who seems to only be a man when it comes to business. I'd definitely be up for this kind of thread~ And wondering how it'd work further down the road.

So, this isn't going to be pretty, but...!

Anna: I see Anna as being the one reporter Avery can put up with, but they have one of those relationships where she pretends to bother him and he pretends to be incredibly bothered, but they both enjoy it - is that confusing? It works in my head, tell me if it doesn't in yours!

Miramar: First off, I'm intensely excited for these two, and I'd love to start off with a little scene where the two are perhaps forced to be in the same room as one another, or even worse Avery's been proposed as her escort by someone for a party? Any which way, I wish you luck in Avery hating XD

Aero: Here's what I'm thinking.. Avery has to fly a lot, sometimes scouting out places for new games arenas, sometimes just going to meetings in Districts etc, and he requests Aero as his pilot more often than not - it's like the Gamemaker is tipping his hat to the thing that makes Aero happy, and putting his faith in him. I could imagine these two beings friends in another life, but in this one I still think Avery would reach out to him a little. What do you think?

Oh goodness, I really love this idea. It works out perfectly, because I was trying to figure out a way for Aero to be able to get his hands on aircraft, since I assume it would be difficult for the Capitol to allow him to pilot - even though it's his talent and he's a victor. So being able to at Avery's request would be a very perfect solution.

Relationship wise, yes I imagine there would still be a little tension on Aero's end -but not really. It's not much of an animosity towards the capitol and the games, but more of he wouldn't know how to really handle his interactions with a gamemaker that doesnt parade him around and actually lets him do something he loves. He'd be often suspicious, but remind himself there isn't really anything to hold against Avery in his mind.

It would probably be super awkward if they were expected to attend an event with one another so I can start that if you'd like, or you can if you prefer, whatever!

I had this idea which is a little cliche but...later on sometime she could be coming home later or something and encounter some men who harass her or something and Avery could better make his way into her good graces by helping her out there,

I feel I must toss Sebastian in here to possibly play with Avery. He's an Avox but I think it'd be interesting to see if Avery is cool with Avoxes because who wouldn't want to love this ex-musician from D1? I dunno. Maybe Avery tries to see what Panem was like before the Games or he just happens across Seb whilst buying clothes? My brain is quitting on me but I think it'd be nifty if they crossed paths somehow. :3 Maybe Seb is his mute person to vent to or something~

Aero: Yay, I'm glad that idea works out for you! Would love to pick this up from their first flight together, I can imagine Avery being all cagey and trying to avoid questions from Aero until they finally settle into a mutual existence kind of thing. Whatcha think?

Miramar: How's this; we pick up at the end of the event where they've been forced to spend the night together, Miramar takes her leave abruptly, having enough of Avery being everywhere with everyone and not seeming to care about her, or even have the time of day to make small talk. So, she's headed back to her house on foot when a group of men accost her - she's wondering how the hell to get out of it when Avery appears (woot for knights in shining armour), having been trying to catch up with her in order to give her purse back to her as she left it behind in her rush to leave... >.< Yes? No?

Sebastian: Eesh. This is the second Sebastian of my day XD But by far the better, as the other one was an annoying French person..! Avery is pretty cool with avoxes, he tends to avoid them a little as he doesn't like what the Capitol's done, but he treats them as humans unlike most capitolites. I feel like he would get on well with one of my other chars - Bryn Izon - who's also a stylist and has this whole self imposed vow of silence thing going?? Miramar: The reasoning behind him going after her with her purse was an apology, but somehow I missed writing down the entire equation in the above post. Now we can all see how I failed Maths.

Also, you gotta face it, sometimes Avery is a bit of a bastard. He doesn't mean to be, but he doesn't always remember to apologise. Being your stereotypical knight in shining armour would be no fun, they have to have some kind of faults! In this scenario, and him liking Miramar as much as he does though, I'd have to agree he'd be chasing her to apologise.

Welp! It makes sense that we thread these two seeing as I have adopted his brother and all. p: And the scary amount of kids in Avery's future. I would be very confused in his shoes but then again Roderick likes children a lot more than I do. So voila. I bring you Roderick. [does spirit fingers]

I was looking at ze wanted ad again to make sure I had my facts right and you were contemplating the possibility that he wouldn't know what he looked like. I could totally go with that idea seeing as Avery would have been just before his teens or barely into them when taken. If Avery got curious, well, he could always pretend to be working in the Capitol and want to see what had become of Rod and letters could be exchanged. c: <s>i've been in a letter mood but i'm also throwing out ideas.</s> Just pretending to "inspect" the home or anything~ xD Or it can be right from the get-go of fleeting meetings. c: Though I don't know if Rod would be one to be floating around the Capitol that much, he'd most likely be there during the Games for such meetings or trying to find something for Belle. [flicks Rod] You and your spoiling of all the family.

Anywho. :3 Let me know which direction you'd want to take it~

First off, Avery is intensely happy to have a big brother. Now that that's out of the road...
Basically my idea for these two was that Avery would've had some kind of Capitol surgery and basically wouldn't resemble his old self at all. New look for a new life, etc. But, there would still be little things that gave him away like a certain way of pronouncing something, or a nickname that he lets slip. I was thinking maybe Avery chats to Roderick infrequently at parties and has been somewhat trying to show him that Gamemakers aren't as bad as everyone thinks they are, and also that well... he's his brother XD

Ohhhh~ :3 That'd be interesting. Let us see how oblivious Roderick can be~ Granted when he found out he'd feel awful about it. Yet somehow I think Rod would also just be like, "Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy. Little Atlas is back." And Avery would be dragged back and/or invited to Nine at some point. We totally can't tell my brain has just been trying to picture seven kids tackling Avery and how it'd be very confusing on so many levels. Pretty sure that if there was a gif of that, I'd just watch it over and over again because it just entertains me. But I digress.

Rod would be game for that though I think he was more indifferent to Gamemakers before he had kids of his own. xD Not that he'd be rude to Avery but I think that fact alone would lead to his being more oblivious and not quite wanting to hear everything Avery said. Because I usually like to give him credit for being aware of people around him aha. c:

Excellent! I'm kind of imagining this weird game of cat and mouse where Avery inadvertently finds himself plaguing Roderick with questions and letting all manner of things slip over the space of a couple of years and encounters, then Roderick realising who he thinks he is and the game reversing so it's Roderick chasing Avery about parties etc and Avery being all 'holy moses now that he knows who i am what do i do and what cover story do i use, do i deny it etc etc' and being all conflicted and having to tell Roderick everything in the end... yes?

btw, I'm heading out of town for a couple of days starting tomorrow, but if you want to throw up one of their encounters in the past section that could be amusing? I'm thinking typical Capitol gig where they find themselves alone at the bar or something strangely drinking the same kind of drink that nobody else likes?

NOW THAT I HAVE HAD THE SLEEPING TIME. Me gusta. All of it. :3 Rod would totally be on board with the cat and mouse games of questioning each other. I've a feeling it would be absolutely priceless with Rod hearing the pronunciations every now and then. xD If he heard it enough times, it'd probably be what leads to, "So. Did you grow up in the Capitol or ?" question. And all of that super entertaining fun stuff. <3

So here is Zelda, a new gamemaker friends for Avery and since we all know I'm shamelessly in love with him....I couldn't stop from posting here. I'm sure she'd flirt with him like crazy when they weren't working, since she's really quite promiscuous. I'm not sure how he'd feel about her, possibly annoyed? Thought he might respect her work or maybe even help her out a bit since she's fairly new. I'm not sure!

Nefarious little Circe really just wants to poke around at poor Avery and watch him squirm. I imagine since they both gamemakers, he could have seen bits and pieces of her true nature/potential. Since she really plays up her sweet and caring card, but comes packing a punch. She never gets her hands dirty, so she's always trying to set people up to take the fall or literally do her dirty work for her. Not quite sure on specifics for these two, I'm just laying some stuff out that might prove interesting for plots. hmhmhm. Feel free to change/add/etc.

So I've been meaning to post in here for ages now, especially after June won her games. There was that brief time during her training week where he popped in and gave her that 'don't even think about it look', which both confused her and made her curious. I was wondering if we could somehow sort of expand on that into some sort of plot involving the two? Especially now that she's a victor there will be times where she's required in the Capitol even against her wishes so I'm sure they would occasionally run into each other there, or if he ever came to Seven on business or whatever. I don't really have any specific in mind, but I'd love to get these two in some sort of plot. Just let me know what you think/if you have any ideas. =3
