God, do you believe in Him?

I must say..I lost my faith a long time ago. I just...can't believe there really is someone that is all powerful and that made the universe, us included...

One of the reasons that just makes me not believing is this: God made this planet in 6 days. But science tells otherwise. If I believe in science, how can I believe in the Bible? Its really the only evidence of God's existence...


Are there more atheists? Or am I the only one? I sure hope this post won't offend anyone, its meant only for discussions, not fights! ^^'

I didn't meant in the world! I'm always trying to make people come to my side! xD My portuguese teacher is an atheist, too and so is her brother... And I think my dad is too! xD

I just would like to know why people believe in God. I don't know if I ever believed in Him, now that I think of it... :/

I think that's a shame. Sometimes I get doubts, and wonder if there is a God, but I just open the Bible and see for myself that God is with you always.

You mean evolution? Science is based on laws that are actually based on Truth. How do we know Evolution is Truth? How do we know if Creation is Truth? The difference between Evoltion and Creation is that Evolution doesn't have a Book that supports all science. Shall I give a few examples?

I'm reading a creation book at the moment, called the Answers Book, and it's very interesting. It has all the answers to Creation questions that evoltionists ask.

The Bible says the Earth was suspended in mid-air, way before people discovered it was.

Job 26:7"He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing."

The Stars were countless, and people though you couold count the stars, until Galileo pointed his telescope at the sky and realised so.

Genesis 15:5"And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be."

God's existence perfectly fits in the Bible and today, and if you believe in one part of the Bible, then you must believe the rest or none at all.

Well, the thing is... I can't feel His presence around me, I don't feel someone watching over me, not even when I feel alone. When I do so, it'll soon get better when I think about my friends and family and how lucky I am compared with so many ppl...

The fact is... I don't need a god. I don't need to pray for someone/something or think that he/it is powerful and will watch over me. I don't have the need to think that there's another life beyond this one. I think that, when it's over, it's over.

So, it's not really sad that I think this way because I don't need it and I don't feel sad about it. I'm happy and cheerful, and nothing will change that, unless something really bad happens...

I don't mind at all to see ppl that believe in God. Sometimes ppl are even kinder, following the path of God. But I really don't like fanatics... I don't like ppl that will glare at you if you don't have the same religion, that say you have Satan inside of you... It's awful and it won't make ppl join their side...

My dad put me in sunday school(sp) because my cousins and my best friend was there, too. Never because he wanted me to be religious. Of course he has nothing against it, because as long as it doesn't teach you to steal or kill its fine with him. But he never liked those ppl that spent a lot of time in church, because those ppl aren't normal. Really, women here that spend too much time in church have their marriages ruined, are the worse gossipers you could find... Just, awful. That's why my dad and I only go to church as tourists!

Look, atheism is not a bad thing like many ppl think. I don't make fun of God, whatever the religion, and I really enjoy studying it. I just don't go read the bible now because if my dad saw me he'd have a heart attack! xD Me and my dad are simple ppl, don't owe money to no one and never go against the law, we pay our taxes... Not having a religion doesn't mean I'm a sad or evil person... Actually, I'm more happy this way.

Are you talking about physical feeling? Because if you open up your spirit as well as your mind, just pray, and say, "God, I can't feel you there. Please tell me that You are there. I need some proof, that You are watching over me. Amen" Or something like that. I get that feeling sometimes, but if you quieten your spirit as well as your mind, I think He's there.

Don't you ever question the meaning of life? Why we are here? Where things came from, how the Creation of the Earth and Universe came about? Do you ever feel any emptiness inside you, SJ? I know your friends and family can help you feel better, but that solution is only temporary, you'll forget the question for a while, then question it again. You will never have a solution to life if you never find the answers to questions that need answering.

What if something does? What if something doesn't? You'll never find the answers if you try to forget.

Cuz God teaches us peace!!

Nobody has Satan inside them, he's far too busy for that. However, some people can be demon-possessed, and horrible things can happen. It's horrific about the things that can happen. I recently read a book for teenagers, called the stairway to Hell. Because of Satanism, and even Wicca, is the devil's work. You have young teenagers of 13 and 14 killing eachother, praying to Satan, and sacrificing their domestic pets for the Devil. It's terrible.

The actual point of Sunday school is to learn about the Bible, and help you to learn about the Saviour, and what God has done for you. Lots of people, I'm afraid, think they are Christians because they pray and go to church and give to the poor and donate alot of money. The only thing separating you from God is asking Him to be your Saviour.

That's a shame. Like what I said above, as the Bible says, people can be "false prophets". Even Satan controls some spiritually-dead churches.

I'm sure you do. It's not the fact that Atheism is bad, we just think it's wrong, because it denies the fact that there is a Creator.

You're evil, or bad. Your'e just not saved. You are separated from God, and I don't mean that in a horrible way. You know, I feel more happier being a Chrsistian, too, like you are more happier. But knwing that I'm dedicating my life for Something, makes my life a whole lot enjoyable. Living for something keeps you alive.

I believe in god, definetly. And Some say science disproves religion. It dies not. Science tells us there is something the same in everythings DNA. This is god. There was a post that said God couldnt have made the earth in six days. Maybe not six earthly days, but whose to say what a day is to god? And others say that there cant be a god bevause no god would allow such sufferening. If god made life perfect we would miss the beatuy of things. Candy is only special because we dont have it all the time.

God is DNA? What do you mean?

DNA isn't the same in everything... everything HAS dna, but its different in everything... That's what makes ppl unique among each other, and that gives us our traces and personalities. Dna is like a guideline, that tells our body what to do. Are you saying that's God? Because then you're saying God is physical and can be seen!!

I think what Fullmetalnerd92 is trying to say is that God is in everything you see, because He created it. He made DNA, that's so intricate, it can't have been by accident. It makes everybody different, as SJ said, and think of how many peeps are in the world!! God did come down 2000 years ago, as Jesus. He came to Earth to save man from their sins, bu being crucified. He was crucified because something innocent has to suffer to save us from out own guilty conscience. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for man, and we can be saved through Him.

No, I'm trying to say that science says that in the DNA of all things, from rocks to humans, there is ome component thats the same. One allele. I belive that this is god, in everything.

I'm partial on this subject, Rikku doesn't know what to believe. I have friends and family members who shove their close-minded beliefs down my throat, if that counts. This more than anything makes me distance myself from the whole 'god' subject and just continually repeat "I'm Christian" so certain friends and family members will shut the hell up.

I gave up on saying I'm an atheist. Ppl start staring at me... and then SJ has to keep her 'Hinun' from hurting someone... '

Well, I'm still a christian, even though I just can't believe in God xD I really don't feel like hearing old rags saying I'm being possessed by the devil!

Everyone in the world has the right to choose what they believe in, I for one am an atheist. I lost my faith a long time ago, but that was my choice and my choice alone. I can not stand when other people believe that it is their duty as christains to attempt to convert me, NO! never! I will change if I want, not if someone else. The ability to choose is the power that makes us all human. Without it we are nothing but empty shells that follow a preset path, nothing changing...more or less nothing at all.

If I have offended any christains I am sorry, but it is your closed mindedness that just gets me so rilled up >.<
