There are certain terms and background to this story that should be further defined for the reader to grasp every angle of the story and fully understand it. Rather then having a bazillion little footnotes I figured I would compile the information in this handy-dandy thread. (:

Denuogens [De-no-gens] - Meaning: "afresh race" or "anew race". During the 4th world war the Mars inhabitants built a long travel ship and raced off into the starry sky. Many many years and generations passed and they found a suitable uninhabited planet to colonize. After thousands of generations the name "denuogens" was integrated into the language to distinguish the new race from the original race (humans of Earth).


Nihilum [N-eye-hill-um] - Meaning: "nonexistent" or "nothingness". The Nihilum is a disease that as far as anyone knows, originated on Earth. And was the tipping point that caused the final apocalyptic war on Earth. The Nihilum's meaning comes from the facts that, it seems to have no known cause- thus no cure can be constructed, it is 100% lethal, and it affects all life. The symptoms to mammals is an albino-like effect. The hair gradually turns white, and the eyes red, the skin however does not become pale. Once the hair and eye's are completely striped of color (this takes years, around 3-5) the organism shuts down within 3 more years. It is a curious disease as the victim feels no pain or discomfort, and the death of the victim is complete, immediate and without any warning. All life can be infected, symptoms differ but the lethal nature of the Nihilum remains consistent. About 24 hours after death experts believe the organism is no longer contagious. It has been nick-named the "Killer of Worlds" as every planet that becomes infected dies out completely. It is a common believe that the Nihilum is the cause of the stars disappearing in the sky, and the end of life altogether. There is a very small minority that have a half immunity to the disease, these people are able to live approximately 5-6 years longer.
Many people use colored contacts and hair dye when their hair starts to turn, this is not a concern as everyone is infected and no one need know who has the disease or not.


Nexus Origin - Meaning: "the central nexus to all the dimensions and timelines of the omniverse. The origin of existence.". The Denuogen scientists have contemplated and debated on this theory and the possible existence of the N.O. for many years. Quite recently a formula was proposed that would suggest it's existence, and would further suggest that during the entry to the void time travel could then be able to be achieved. Normal time-travel technology prototypes and simulations currently being developed have not been proven to work under any other circumstances. Scientists believe the Nexus to be devoid of all life and matter. Only existing as a connection point to where all dimensions and their life sparked, if it truly does exist at all.
