(This'll be short-ish I guess, since it's just a transition to the island..)

Annadell kept walking her brisk pace, not turning her head, but still hearing a few others start to follow her,....the cloaked man...and the woman with the billowy dress. Great.

Soon she reached the raft and eyed it over carefully, Blake was right it was in operable condition. She finally turned around as the others reached her and the raft. "We'll need something to steer it with..."

Luena saw the raft and didn’t quite understand what it was. She had never seen the sea or boats, only in paintings. She thought she knew what it was; driftwood?

As she drew closer to look at it a wave came up and soaked the bottom of her dress and filled her slipper with water. “Yeeek!” she squeeled. “Get it away! Get it away!” and started kicking at the water which began to ebb away. Not realising it would return she stayed where she was until an even bigger wave came up to her ankles at which she gave an ear splitting scream, tripped and landed on her bottom!



(at that, does Nexus have tidal activity? Does it have a moon?)

August sighed when he heard the girl fall. Had he been a little closer, he might have helped her up, but he was busy trying to find something to steer the boat with. A few piece of chopped wood from the raft were still on the beach and he picked up the three largest pieces.
"Will these do?" he asked the blonde woman.

(dang it, he needs to learn their names already...)

Annadell turned and then just stared, dumbstruck.
Which was only alivitated when August came to her with the wood, she eyed it and replied, "If you think it will." it looked to her as if this man had lived through tough times, she was about to continue but then Luena's piercing scream erupted, she clasped her ears, and bared her teeth in anger before suddenly and strangely relaxing herself. She took a deep breath and walked over to the woman, who was on her bottom and proceeded with out permission to grab her, and drag her away from the waters reach. Then she squatted in front of the woman and for a pause just gazed into her eyes, then finally she spoke, "You understand what's happening. Your minds just hiding, you lived a very sheltered and luxurious life and you don't want to let it go." Her gaze never left Luena's eyes, "You have two very simple choices, you either stay in your hazy comfort and take the chance that you'll waste away if no one takes you on as their burden. Or you except your fate, get up and make first of many choices that haven't been made for you."

Luena was sitting whimpering there as the peasant woman told her all this. She reminded her of her old nanny who stood up to no nonsense and without her Luena would have become an even worse brat than she already was. Sadly she had died from an illness while Luena was still young and all those that came after her spoiled their charge rotten. However, she was the one Luena had felt any real attachment to and loosing her was like loosing a mother. It saddened her that she couldn’t remember her name.

“mmhm,” Luena murmured as she took the order to “get up” litteraly and stood there shuffling her feet, not knowing what to do next.

“Um, madam, what is your name? I believe I have missed it.” this time she wouldn’t make the same mistake again.

She rose up with Luena, "Annadell." she replied and then turned back to the hooded one, August. "I believe we're ready to go now?" she then paused turning her head back to Luena, looking at her dress for a moment in minor disapproval, "Your coming with us? You shouldn't keep lugging that big weighted dress around, especially now that half of it's wet."

Annadell, eh? August thought. Saves me the trouble of asking. He moved up and put two pieces of wood in the raft while holding onto the third. When he heard Annadell suggest that the girl leave her dress behind, his first thought was: if she doesn't have that, what would she wear? Forget it, I'm sure someone would have some spare clothes she could borrow.
Turning his attention back to the raft, he couldn't help but wonder why someone would make the raft, but not a set of oars. With a shrug, he waited next to the raft until the others were set.

Continuing on the momentum of following Annadell’s orders (her rank in Luena’s mind seemed to have moved up from peasant to governess) Luena pulled out a small sewing kit she kept hidden in the folds of her dress if the fancy ever took her. Taking out the tiny but sharp pair of scissors she made a few cuts, removed the panniers, most of the unnecessary fabric and re-sewed the skirt so it would fit around her waist. The panniers and most of the fabric that was in Luena’s dress lay in a neat pile on the beach. The sewing was done at an incredible speed but without a loss in quality - after all she had had countless hours to practice it!

“I-is this acceptable madam Annadell?” asked Luena, not wanting to be told off again.


(I’m not sure that’s possible but I DID try to research French dresses >.< )

Annadell watched Luena re-work the dress without a detesting word. She raised her eyebrows mildly surprised, mostly at her sewing skill. "...Yes. That is much better." she eyed the excess fabric, "You should probably keep that safe, may be stash it at the campsite, it could be put to good use in future." She offered before turning back to see August was waiting for them taking a step forward before looking back, "We can wait for you if you want to go do that." she added, then looked back to make sure August was ok with the idea of waiting a bit more.

August watched the girl re-sew her dress with incredible skill. Something he also found incredible was that she could do something without ordering someone else to do it. Annadell suggested for the girl to take the fabric back to camp. He thought the matter had been settled when he noticed she was looking at him, almost as if she was asking if he was okay with the girl going back. He only smiled and shrugged.

Luena picked up the bundle and started walking to the campsite.

August looked at the sun and swore. He had been fine, but as the day wore on, he was slowly becoming uncomfortable in his coat. Looking at Annadell, he had a feeling that she had taken a few lives before and wondered if she would be unnerved by his eyes. It would be a shame if she suddenly fell apart over something so small, he thought. Nevertheless, the coat was becoming stifling and he knew there was a thin hood attached to his shirt. He closed his eyes, took the coat off, and pulled up the thin hood before opening his eyes again.

He transferred his knife to a loop that hung off his pants, folded up his coat in the raft, and continued waiting.

Luena sauntered back regally standing rudely between August and Annadell “I have returned.” she pronounced and immediately became pouty. As always she wasn’t quite sure what was going on but you’d never get the confession out of Luena so she continued to pretend. She was sure that eventually she’d figure it out.

Annadell turned slightly, and then moved closer to the raft to continue waiting. She eyed August, sensing some tension-but dismissed it as he took off his coat, believing it had something to do with the heat. Her eyes didn't leave him however, as she gazed out of the corner of her eye to see him secure his knife.
But her attention quickly transferred to Luena as she made her way back, decidedly back to her old spoiled demeanor. Annadell squinted her eyes as Luena stated the obvious as a brat would. She took a deep breath, trying to release her pent up aggression, so she wouldn't do something she'd regret around this woman.
"Alright. I sopose we're ready to go then." she climbed up onto the raft and picked up one of the makeshift oars.

(Soo, do we want to keep going a few more reply's while their out at sea? Or should we go straight to the other island?)

(Personally, I wouldn't mind a few more replies while they're at sea. This could provide a chance to see some of Nexus' aquatic life forms, if there are any)
