JACKSON, MS (WLBT) -
The former cell mate of Edgar Ray Killen says he will turn over the land, he believes Killen gave him, to the government to look for human remains. James Stern is scheduled to make the announcement Monday at the Hinds County Courthouse. A press release claims Killen confessed to 35 murders in the 1950's and 60's, while he and Stern were cell mates. Stern wants the government to excavate the 40 acre property where some of the killings may have taken place. Killen's lawyer, Robert Ratliff, claims stern had no right to the property. Stern is suing Killen and his wife, along with Ratliff. Killen is serving a 60 year sentence for the deaths of three civil rights workers in Neshoba County http://www.wlbt.com/story/18868244/stern-w...d-human-remains |
