Before taking the steps to understand the world of Moondancers' Vale, creating a character, and role playing. It's important that all Members read on the governing rules of the site. They are here for a reason and should not be broken. Action will be taken, no excuses will be accepted when this is open to all. And all should take a moment of their time to read before doing anything. We are not responsible for any who refuse to do other wise.
Basic Forum Rules - Moondancers' Vale uses the account-per-character format, and requires an OOC account.
When registering with Moondancer's Vale, please remember to make your first account your "OOC Account". This is where we can keep tabs on all the characters running around the forum. Who belongs to who. Who is active and who isn't. Etc. Every other account is a character account and will be the ones played for anything IC. While the main account will be for everything else OOC. After you made your OCC Account, please read and post here, "Player Account Registration". The OCC Account can be any name, but please do not use crude words or meanings, or even curse words.
- Player accounts must be made individually, and registered with the Character's name.
As mentioned, MV is an account-per-character forum. After you have made your OOC Account, you may make your characters. Please register under their call name. If the Character's true name is, for example, Aljan. But is called Jan by everyone, you are to register under Jan. Once you post their profile with this account, that account will be changed accordingly. Example : Valedweller, Plainsdweller, Skyrider.
- Moondancers' Vale is rated "PG-13"¯ for Parental Guidance for those under 13, which means persons younger than thirteen are cautioned against joining this site.
As is rated here in America, content containing the following that may be found within the site, such as; Blood and Gore, Suggestive Themes, Strong to Intense Violence, Strong language. Is considered rated "PG-13"¯. However, if you feel you can handle those topics, you are welcomed to join. We can not be counted liable if you are younger than the required age if Parent or Guardian wish to push the subject that this site is unsuitable for kids. We have posted our rating, rules, for all to know and see.
Side Note: You should be thirteen or older when registering on Moondancers' Vale or any Invisionfree board as per the IF terms of service.
- There is no number quota on how many characters a Member may make.
Just be aware that if you neglect any of them or can not handle them. It is highly advised that you lower the number you have at hand to a manageable size. For complete information on what is allowed, please read the "Character Quota & NPC Guidelines". Be warned that if any are inactive a Staff member will delete them. Depending on the amount of time it has been inactive will decide if the character gets deleted or not.
- You are welcome to make signature icons, images, or what have you.
Please make sure that nothing stretches the board. If this occurs you will be asked to edit it, or erase it. Under the event that this does not happen a Staff will erase it. Signatures and images are to be no longer than 625pixels. This keeps it from stretching the board. - Creating tables for your character(s) is acceptable, but there shall not be ANY obscene images in them.
This goes for the signatures as well as the avatars. Any obscene images found posted by your IP address could result in a ban from the board for a specific amount of time even permanent.
- Treat all Members, Guests, and Staff respectfully. Showing any disrespect such as; harassing, insulting, cursing, name calling, verbally attacking them/someone they know, openly talking against them, racial attacking, gender insulting, forming lies, rumors, or in helping to spread them, and discriminating material of any kind. Treat others how you wish to be treated.
- Though we are indeed a mature rated forum that does not mean that minors of all ages may not fall onto our board while passing by.
Please keep the use of vulgar words OOC wise to a minimum. Try to remember not to run around the board throwing the "F-bomb" around just because you want to. Not everyone favors swearing.
- Please do not attempt to begin a serious plot line without first contacting a Staff member. Please make sure your plot line is well thought-out and that you are prepared for the possibility of an intense plot twist. We like our Members trying to spice things up, it makes things different from different perspectives. So do not feel discouraged when bringing such ideas to the Staff.
- There will be no bringing OOC matters IC and vise versa.
Just because the character hates you does not in any way, shape, or form reflect the emotions of the RPer. This is just a game, there is no need to make it personal. If you feel that it is, please bring it up with a Staff through PM or Email, we will gladly help in the matter. Only in the event that you wish to bring it up with the Member of the character in question inform us still. We do not want to find our Cbox filled with arguing when it can be held elsewhere. Nor in posts either when it's out of character and plain out foolish.
- Moondancers' Vale is an intermediate to advanced RPG.
One-liners will not be accepted at all. We do not have time to train beginners in the art of Role Playing, so if you cannot write a paragraph worth of Character interaction then our forum may not be for you. Make sure that your posts can have others react to it physically. It’s boring and not a lot of fun if you only write about thoughts, feelings, assumptions, and never get down to actual interaction between characters.
- Please do not double post in an RP thread.
Deleting or adding something to your post is done with the edit button. Double posting will result in a PM to edit it, and if after a certain amount of time that is not fixed a Staff member will delete it without warning. Rules are here for a reason. We want Moondancers' Valeto be a happy place where everyone is comfortable. If you have a problem with any of these rules, please PM an Admin. Or if you want to report something offensive/rule-breaking/etc, please click the REPORT button on the offending Thread/Post. User name will be kept anonymous.

Bannable offenses, Warnings and Punishments: Bannable Offenses:- Art Theft - We don't tolerate it. Admire those with talent and praise them even. But do not filch their works and especially so, not try to pass them as your own in other places.
- Character Theft - What it the point to stealing another's character? No one would ever play them as well as the creator, the one who imagined it. Put your heart and part of yourself into your characters and have fun. Do not take what isn't yours.
- Controlling - We have created Moondancers' Vale as we see fit, for the realms to be. Please do not take liberties and start creating things yourselves. If you have an idea, PM an Admin and we can discuss the possibility of making it happen.
- God moding - No. Just no. There is a difference between god-moding and puppeteering. And even puppeting should be done with express permission of the other player and both players should know exactly what is going on. Please do keep puppeteering to a minimum. God moding is taking things into your own hands. You cannot seriously injure, maim, kill or mutilate another's characters unless both player's role play leads toward this. And please, if you intend to kill a character, PM an Admin first and give us a heads up.
- Harassment - Towards members. We will not tolerate harassment based on gender, race, sexual orientation, age or any of the like. Just don't do it.
- Starting any fights with another member - This is a good way to get a rather irritated Admin on your tail wielding a ban-hammer of terror.
Warnable Offenses: - Advertising without exclusive permission from an Admin.
- Being illiterate and annoying when such behavior is not needed (At Administration discretion) - This doesn't mean we can't be silly and have fun in the cbox. There is, however, a certain point where it just needs to stop.
- Excessive cursing - Of an unjustifiable nature. Everyone slips, but you don't have to compete to see how many times you can drop an f-bomb in one sentence and see if you can use it as a noun, verb, adjective and adverb all at once, okay?
- Using 1337, chatspeak, emoticons, etc. in excessive and unneeded amounts - Quite frankly, it irritates the heck out of the mods and admins.
- Creating a "cookie-cutter" character - Maybe this isn't so much a "warnable offense" as it is something that we just won't approve of. The staff will, however, give you pointers on how to make these characters acceptable.
Punishments:- 1st Offense = Notified by a Staff
- 2nd Offense = 2 weeks suspension
- 3rd Offense = Banned
All Offenses are subject to Admin Discretion.

Literacy Rules The basic guidelines have been set here at Moondancers' Vale so that everyone has an understanding of what is considered basic role playing. In general terms, Moondancers' Vale can be labeled as a “Semi Advanced to Highly Advanced/Literate” forum. What that means is that we encourage proper grammar, proper spelling, and that the post itself is neat, tidy, and easy for everyone to read. We understand that sometimes misspelled words can happen, but if it's a constant thing found within a post you will be PMed to edit the your post and advised to double check in the future. These are some examples of what we don't wish to see here. - L337 - Leet, as many would call it, consists of using several symbols in the place of letters in a word. That confuses people the most as they are either unaware of what is being typed or possibly think you are speaking another language in a special font. The Staff finds this method of writing time-consuming and childish. In the time it takes one to type out a word in L337-speak, the same person could have typed out half a sentence in the same amount of time.
ex: '\^/ o \^/' instead of 'wow', 'h3110' instead of 'hello'
- Chatspeak - Chatspeak is generally defined as any abbreviated language, usually used most often in chatrooms and Instant Messengers. This is grammatically incorrect, and the Staff would prefer that members not use this in role play.
ex: 'ur' instead of 'your', 'ttyl' instead of 'talk to you later'
- Improper sentence structure - This means that our role play will be in the past tense of writing. The '-ing' suffix is used minimally, and the '-ed' suffix is used often.
ex: 'spins' instead of 'spun', 'runs' instead of 'ran', etc.
- Two characters as the subject of a single paragraph. Meaning that if your characters are talking between each other, or to others, please create a new paragraph when you switch from one to the other.
ex: Bad - “ Are you alright Veril?” Ashka asked her companion, tilting her head so that one eye was on the young man. "Yeah," Veril muttered under his breath, turning his head so that Ashka couldn't read his expression.
ex: Good - “Are you alright Veril?” Ashka asked her companion, tilting her head so that one eye was on the young man.
"Yeah," Veril muttered under his breath, turning his head so that Ashka couldn't read his expression.
