O O C . R U L E S
OOC rules MUST be obeyed. Any failure to do so will result in temporary banishment from the site, loss of ranking characters, and/or permanent banishment from the site, depending on the severity of the infraction. Anyone with complaints or concerns may PM a staff member.
I .G E N E R A L
i . 1 . Respect all staff at all times. Complaints must be filed calmly and patiently, and outbursts will earn temporary banishment from the site.
i . 2 . Respect all other members. No flaming or attacking will be tolerated anywhere on the site, including PMs. If you feel threatened, contact a staff member quoting what was bothering you.
i . 3 . If the above two rules are broken three times cumulatively, you will be permanently banned.
i . 4 . Do not advertise except in the advertising forum.
i . 5 . Keep links to your characters' profiles in your signature. New characters will not be accepted until all previous characters are linked.
i . 6 . We retain the right to put any dragons or whers hatched here up for adoption if they go inactive.
i . 7 . DO NOT put a dragon or wher that was created here on another site without checking with the original creator first.
II . C H A R A C T E R . C R E A T I O N
ii . 1 . You may not have more than 3 candidates at a time.
ii . 2 . You may only create ONE ranking dragon OR wher. Impressed dragons or whers do not count.
ii . 3 . Any pet that is not a firelizard or a canine should be cleared by staff and have a good explanation. Not many animals live around the Weyr, and few can be tamed. Pets bought from the Weyr Store are exempt.
ii . 4 . Make sure that your characters have both faults and strengths. We do not like seeing "perfect" characters.
ii . 5 . Have some patience when it comes to character review. We will try to be prompt, but we have a lot to do. Try not to nag.
ii . 6 . Characters must be posted in the correct subforum. Feel free to repost bios, the in progress forum will be periodically cleaned out.
ii . 7 . Include what kind of candidate your candidates are in their post titles.
ii . 8 . You may only make four characters to begin. After every 100 posts, you may create another character.
III . A D O P T I O N
iii . 1 . All adoptions are final. You may not ask for your character back after it has been adopted by someone else.
iii . 2 . Adoptable dragons and whers are first come first serve. The person that first posts completed profiles and has them accepted gets the character.
iii . 3 . Only dragons and whers are adoptable, human characters are not put up for adoption.
iii . 4 . Those that have lost their characters may adopt them again if they get there first.
iii . 5 . There is no "calling dibs". If you want an adoptable dragon or wher, you need to get their profile out.
IV . P O S T I N G
iv . 1 . No god-modding. This means that you cannot do anything to another player's character without that player's permission.
iv . 2 . Keep it clean. If you feel your thread is going beyond a PG-13 rating, move it to a mature content forum. Ask staff for the password.
iv . 3 . Remember the difference between IC and OOC. Do not take IC actions personally, and do not take OOC aggression out IC.
iv . 4 . No placeholder posts. In progress posts are fine, but placeholders are too often left unwritten, and they mess up post counts.
iv . 5 . Try to post at least a paragraph whenever you're posting IC. Novels are not necessary, but those you're RPing with can work better with more to go off of.
iv . 6 . All posts made in the RP forums must be IC and obey the canon of Monachikos Weyr. OOC RPing may take place in the chatterbox forum.
iv . 7 . Characters may not be posted in the RP forums until they are accepted. Flight NPCs are fine, and may be posted in Flights even if you are creating them as real characters.
V . A C T I V I T Y
v . 1 . Anyone who does not log in for two months is in danger of being deleted. Post in the absence board if you know you can't be here.
v . 2 . Candidates that are not active in threads outside of clutch-related events will most likely not impress.
v . 3 . Ranking characters must be posted often. If a ranking character is being neglected, you may be removed of that character. You will receive a warning first.
v . 4 . Players that join have one month to post. Inactive members are cleaned out every month.
v . 5 . You may be a member without posting IC, but really. What's the point?
v . 6 . Weyrlings and wherlings have specific rules regarding activity. Refer to Weyrling/Wherling rules.
VI . F L I G H T S
vi . 1 . You must schedule your Flight or Run at least one week in advance. Contact any staff member to be added to the list.
vi . 2 . Any dragon, wher, or firelizard that can clutch must have admin approval before they can be added to the list.
vi . 3 . Dragon and wher Queens are assigned to a rotation, and will be informed when they may Rise.
vi . 4 . Winner is chosen by the player of the female. It may be randomized, preselected, or based on posting. This is at the discretion of the player running it.
vi . 5 . Any double Rising (two or more females rising at once) must be cleared by staff.
vi . 6 . It is best to state in your initial Flight posts how you feel about minor powerplaying, as this tends to happen in Flights.
VII . H A T C H I N G S
vii . 1 . The owner of the clutch mother is not responsible for creating the clutch. All clutches are created by staff, unless the ability is bought or won.
vii . 2 . Do not ask for specific dragon ranks for your candidates. Trust us, we aim to please when it comes to hatchlings.
vii . 3 . Have some patience during a clutch. Getting a baby posted isn't very easy, and there is always a reason for a delay, and it almost never is the fault of the staff.
vii . 4 . Candidates must be posted at the hatching in order to Impress. If you do not have time, you may post something brief in the hatching saying so, and it will suffice.
vii . 5 . If a candidate does not arrive, the hatchling will either be killed or it will be given to another character.
vii . 6 . Note that not all dragons or whers that die do so because of missing candidates.
vii . 7 . You will be informed when a hatching has officially ended. Before this, more posting from you means more posting from staff.
VIII . W E Y R L I N G S / W H E R L I N G S
viii . 1 . Weyrlings and wherlings must be posted IC at least once a month. This will be tracked by wher/weyrlingmasters. Those that fail to post will be put on probation.
viii . 2 . Weyrlings and wherlings that miss one month must make it up the following month along with that month's required post.
viii . 3 . Weyr/wherlings that fail to post two months in a row will be removed of their dragon/wher. It will be put up for adoption.
viii . 4 . Weyr/wherlings that are on probation three consecutive months (post every month but owe from a previous failure to post) will loose their dragon/wher. It will be put up for adoption.
viii . 5 . Players that have lost their weyrling or wherling due to missed posts may not try for adoption for a month after loosing them. If it is still available after that month they may adopt it back.
viii . 6 . It is not mandatory to post in a lesson, though if you are in need of your IC post, they are a good resource, and they can earn you marks.
viii . 7 . Those that host lessons receive money as if they had posted personally in the lesson.
viii . 8 . Riders and handlers are weyr/wherlings for 6 OOC months, at the end of which they graduate and are placed in a wing. This amounts to 1 1/2 turns IC.
