In the beginning, when there was no life on Versumi, the Energy of Life, Zephyr, entered the world, and he began to pour his energy into it. Slowly, plants and animals began to grow, and Zephyr walked the land, watching the life come to the world. Soon, he created humans, and even monsters, who were not called that at the time. After everything was created, Zephyr placed two Immortal Governesses into the world, one the Governess of Order, Elinwynn, and the other, the Governess of Chaos, Necroasa.

Zephyr gave them the task to watch over the world, and keep the world at a balance. After that, he fell into a deep sleep, not awakening for a long time. As Zephyr slept, though, darkness began to grow. The Demon World, Nitraloth, was slowly growing closer to Versumi. Soon, through Limbo, the two would collide, and a portal would open from one world to the other.

Darkness began to seep through the portal in the Mountains Of Karagum, and people began to call them the Dark Mountains, for the sky above them grew dark, and turned evil. Soon, the darkness began to corrupt Necroasa, as her power began to grow. She called a war against Elinwynn, and soon the First War of Versumi began. Sensing something wrong, Zephyr, who still slept, allowed his power out into the world more then usual, and a new race, the elves, was formed.

The elves joined forces with Elinwynn, who was the first elf, though her race hadn't been created until now. However, when Elinwynn saw that not even her elves were enough to stop Necroasa, she ran to Zephyr and calle dupon him. He did not awaken, but he did create a goddess, one that would heal Elinwynn's side, however, she would also work to keep a balance by healing the other side as well. Thus, Lily, Goddess of Healing was formed.

One hundred years later, the portal in the mountains grew big enough for the Demon Lord to come through, and his darkness was released into the realm, and the Demon Lord began to run rampant across the land. He made followers by calling himself the "God of Destruction who would save the land by purifying the world of the good in it."

Necroasa followed him, until she realized what he was doing was wrong. She never really wanted the world destroyed, she only wanted to rule the world, and she realized all the Demon Lord was planning to do was destroy everything. She quickly ran to Zephyr and called upon him. Zephyr awoke when he heard of the Demon Lord, and he became enraged. He cast a spell on Elinwynn and Necroasa that pulled them away from the world. Then, the three of them teamed up with Lily to create four small crystals. The four were sent out to different lands, and one day, the four would return to them to do what they needed.
