_theRULES
They make the world go round.

1. Respect: just do it. If you're having problems with somebody, tell an admin. We'll deal with it.

2. Unsorted/Miss-sorted members may only post in the designated area here and here. Any other place, and your post will be deleted and you will be laughed at behind your back. (We kid, we kid. Kind of.)

3. Register as the character you're applying for. As in, "Peter Pettigrew" and not "Siriusiscoolerthanu899". If your character name is taken, add a number to the end of your name. As in "Remus Lupin 2."

4. You can have up to four characters, two of which can be canons. You must be a Moderator to have a second account. You also must have at least 30 posts on your first account before applying for a second one. Exceptions can be made if agreed upon unanimously by the staff.

5. Please check your posts for mistakes. The "Preview" button sure is handy. Try to only use the "Edit" function to fix mistakes after a post has been made, and not to take back something stupid you said or anything like that.

6. Don't fight with other people out of character. The admin will intervine, and we will win.

7. Don't have a signature the size of Alaska. Don't pic spam our boards. Don't stretch our pages; it's ugly. If our boards are ugly, the admin will get ugly too.

8. Stick to stuff in the books. Firewhiskey and butterbeer are good. Malboro Mediums and cocaine are not. Harry Potter does not smoke or do drugs (all though we wonder sometimes), so just say no.

9. This is a literate-advanced board. Not *this iz a liter8-advanzed bored*, okay?

10. Which also means you don't control any character other than your own, unless with expressed permission.

11. Don't have sex on the boards. PM if you have to; the admin won't peak.

12. Don't try to kill off your character unless the admin has approved of it. We don't do pity. We laugh at it.


FOR ORIGINAL/NON-CANONS

1. There are a lot of canon characters with little to no background. Sure you don't wanna take one of them instead? If you're signing up as someone that's, say, a Death Eater, using a canon with limited background info will make your character more important and easier to follow.

2. You are not related to a canon character. Period.

3. No veela, werewolves, vampires, half-breeds, animagi, or other mystic powers unless you have permission from the admin or mods. You can try asking if you have a reason, but odds will probably be against you.

4. Keep your original character original. Don't base him/her off of a celebrity and for Merlin's sake, come up with your own name instead of copying someone else's. We don't wanna hear about your tragic pasts unless you include the application for one (found here) in your character's application. You know how we deal with pity.


FOR CANONS

1. Stay active. Seriously. Apply if you know you're going to stick around.

2. Stay in character. Seriously. Lily doesn't drool all over James' feet in fifth year, Severus Snape does not wear pink, and Peter Pettigrew is (probably) not gay. Keep it that way.

3. Two canons max per person. So if you decide to ditch on us, the whole site doesn't collapse on us.


MOST IMPORTANT RULE.
If you don't post within 3 days of applying, we'll delete you. You can always re-create an account, but if you were hoping to apply as a canon, you may lose your character.
