• A Running Come Back• Welcome back for another exciting summer at the Marauders Era Role-play site! Marauders Era is re-opening it’s doors for its forth summer as a Literate//Advanced Marauders Era Role-Playing Site. We are not only more flexible, but more open then ever as we plan to remake an amazing role-playing community. Our new site focus is sticky about creating beautiful writing through the knowledge and intelligence of the master behind every character. When I say every character I mean, anyone, Canon or Made-up alike are welcome here at Marauders Era. •Old Member Policy• Members who have played within the Marauder Era walls before are as always-welcomed back. This year we would like to make it easier for alumni and masters a like to rejoin our boards. With warning, we have deleted every member that has not regained their characters at the start of the summer (as we do every year). We find keeping an organized board the key to success. However if your application is still within our database, you may re-join without filling out an application. Seeing has most the safe has been around all four years, we know must our members my now. If you come back, filling out an application would be wasting time. If you wish to join with another character, different from the one you originally played, you will still have to reapply. Every member is required to have an application, even the admin. This way other individuals have the ability to learn your character. Plus, the staff needs to know you have the ability to play the character you applied for. We will hold no exception in the matter. •A new Attitude of Enforcing Flexibility• So you figured, you have been a role-play board for four years, you have had to have gotten it write right already haven’t you? Well we seem to have everything now my love! We have every form you could image including a role-playing place called “random corridors” or maybe it’s the library you fancy, it does not quite matter to any of us as long as you role-play. Our doors will be wide open in the summer to welcome every person we can to our boards. However, we will not simply shut them during the year, but we will not keep as close eye. You see, Most all of the staff members here at Marauders Era or either college students or exceptional high school students. School will usually (if we all procrastinating) come first when it comes to role-playing and we understand that.
While school is in session, we keep our doors open and moderate the board. As long as the site remains active, the plotline, time setting will change and morph to the needs of the board. However, we will be encouraging that individuals use not only our site wide plot but create their own. We do not mind when you your role-play is set, as long as it pertains to the year we are set in. The wizarding (bloody Microsoft doesn’t think wizarding is a word) year for schooling can only be changed by the main Admins Rachel and Shannon. **Exceptions are held for role-plays that were created before the re-opening of the site for the summer of 2009.
Our flexibility policy does not appeal to our Literate//Advanced standings here at Marauders Era. It is not to insult others that have not reached our level; in fact we would love to aid you in your quest to improve your skills. When role-playing on the main boards we wont our members to explore the depths of creativity that our standards hold. We will accept nothing less. •Our Role-play Community • We strive to hold a respectable manor here at Marauders era. Our boards have changed through the years but there should be something here for everyone. Like Shannon sings out in the rule (or at least I think she does) we ask for respect for everyone individual that enters this site. Even the ones that Rachel has banned or has a strong hate for. We have create privileges here and we are open to affiliation of the Varity of types and levels of role-playing out there. If at anytime you need help with something, have a suggestion, or you just need to chat the staff is here for you. If Rachel can trust them with her site while she runs away to save the world is away for a year because key club sucked her soul then you can surly trust any of us. •“Why is it always you Three”• We will be less strict on the language used here as we add the “flexibility policy” to our board. Basically, curse up a storm and snogg that Hufflepuff, but please for the love of Merlin, refrain from having sex on our boards. It’s gross not right to be simple. You know what? You have a lovely PM messaging system that I promise none of the staff members will peak upon if you try and get jiggy with it with one of the marauders. Other then that just use common sense, as always. We if rule is broken or the staff has agreed that something is just, not right, then we will resort to warnings. But you know what? It doesn’t have to happen. So if you doubt it ask it. Believe me, the staff rather you ask them rather then—find out, create a topic to discuss it in the staff room, post a whole lot, and then PM you a warning about something silly. Waste of time and energy that could be spent role-playing. •Pace Yourself I ran out of titles• We most likely will not host an opening feast or the Hogwarts Express unless our members want it. Most of the time plots and thread such as thoughts are long, hard to follow and tedious. 50 members posting on one train, it’s worse then if our site hosted Quiddage! This why like I said earlier we are more concerned about you getting the role-play experience you want through site wide and individual plotting. If you are happy playing one role-play in the fall and one in the spring at the same time, then be our guest. As long as you do not confuse plots get in the way of other plots, why should we stop you. You do not have to join site wide plots either. Completely your option as member. Although Rachel will admit that not joining the plot is almost social suicide As long as you stick to the year, the theme, the fact that the marauders are in school, you know the basics-- everything is fine. Just don’t try to join as Harry Potter, cause, no. …and we welcome you If you look in Merlin's Castle there is an assortment of papers you might have to read before starting. You don't have to be Remus Lupin to be interested in these papers because we know they might be a drag. We ask for a maintained order and like the others had to do in the past, read the rules and sorting guidelines. If you get around to it, there are other guidelines you might want to check but you can save that for a rainy day.
We are glad you have considered our site for your role-playing wishes and we hope you make yourself at home. Personally, I have found some amazing people here, so I know you will. Any questions you can ask any staff members, including the admin. We rather you ask a million questions then have to re-do you're sorting.
It's year five and whether you have a cannon or a made-up character I would check out the plot. Everyone can bring something to the plot as long as it is by the books because we are a by the books board. We hope you respect that, and if we don't fit you, you leave peacefully.
So grab a butterbeer, and make sure to put on your robes before the train arrives to the station. There are some cookies in the compartment next door. The magic will begin when you guide those red sparks from your mind to the paper… or shall I say the computer.
