Correct me if im wrong here. Is it true the catcher is the one calls the pitches? Or the pitcher decides himself what to throw to the hitter? If thats the case the Catcher is the one that makes the calls on the pitch and the location then if Catcher misses it then its his fault or it the batter whacks it out thats his fault too. Why I ask this? Cause on my sony playstation 3 "MLB 09 The Show" The catcher tells me the pitch and the location. I wasnt happy when he told me pitch a curve ball down n low to Derick Jeter and he whacked it out. So I can choose to ignore his suggestions can I ?

yes and no steveox...on the Game you can ignore your catcher.

Catchers do call pitches and locations, I'm thinking they are determined pre-game. The catcher has some responsibility in being able to tell what pitches the pitcher has going for him on a particular outing, and makes suggestions, sometimes the pitcher shakes his head "no", sure you have seen it before, and then they call a new pitch.
