First off, I want to start by congratulating the city of Indianapolis on being awarded the duties of hosting Super Bowl XLVI. From looking at the webcams tonight (which are periodicly updated throughout the day), Lucas Oil Stadium looks like it's complete:

Which brings me to my next point: Should the Super Bowl even be played in the city of Indianapolis? It's a retractable roof stadium, which will ensure that a winner will be decided trhough a game of football and not whoever can stay warm the longest in a freezing outdoor climate, but they would not be able to hold many outdoor events around the Super Bowl. On the reverse, football's supposed to be an outdoor game, so playing in snowy weather is part of the game.

Thoughts?

No. Northern teams should atleast have an outside shot at playing the Superbowl in their own stadium. I'd love for the Eagles to make the Superbowl, but I'd cream my pants if they made the Superbowl and it was played IN Philly. Saying there will never be a Superbowl in Philly because it's cold would piss me off.

No but you have to have the ability to put up a roof.

Same with Seattle, and we even have less chance because we are in the upper left.

I can fully understand why your management doesn't even bother to submit an application to host the Super Bowl. It's really a shame though because Seattle isn't as cold as Foxboro or Green Bay in February. If you fill Qwest Field to max capacity at 67,000 fans it already sounds like 80,000.

Philly is just as good a location...that is if they promise to calm down a bit and not start riots if the Cowboys are playing and the snow's not coming down hard enough.
