Spearheaded in Dentown, and run by engineer, Douglas Chaser, this store has evolved into a small chain of stores across Electopia. Chaser's carries bicycles and motorcycles designed by Douglas Chaser himself, and there are a number of different models to choose from with varying prices.

The chain in Dentown is run by Douglas Chaser himself. Upon entering the door, one steps into a spacious area with several rows of bicycles and motorcycles. The floor is made of tiles in a black & white checkerboard pattern. To the immediate left of the door is the counter. Behind the counter and in the glass display cases are parts and tools. To one's right are the rows of vehicles, and at the very end of the space is a garage door that opens up to the street, so that purchases can be driven out of the shop easily. Directly across from the entrance is another door, and next to it, another garage door, which leads to Douglas's workshop.

The workshop is where Mr. Chaser works on custom designs and specific repairs. There is plenty of building equipment here.

[From Dentown Streets]

A jingle played over the nearby speaker as the door opened. Umi walked inside and held it open for Jake. A man that looked to be in his 30s with glasses stood behind the nearby counter. A welding mask was propped up on top of his head. Nearby was what looked like a red NetNavi loaded into a CopyBot.

"Welcome to Chaser's! You kids looking for some bikes?" the man behind the counter asked.

[From Dentown Streets]

Jake walked in just as Mr. Chaser asked his question to the both of them.

"Not today, Sir... we have a high urgency matter and need access to the net from your store." he stated in reply, trying not to give away too many details so as to not cause a panic.

Tera didn't look enthused about what all was happening and it showed, his arms crossed under his cloak as he waited for a moment to mess with whoever was messing with his partner's friends.

Mr. Chaser rubbed his chin for a moment, going over the two with his eyes.

"... I don't know what's going on, but go ahead. There's a wireless access point here," he said. The man pointed backwards with his thumb to a device on the wall behind him. "The wireless range covers the entire shop."

"Ah, thank you, sir!" Umi said with a smile.

Jake looked back to where the man pointed and smiled.

"Indeed," he stated as he looked at Umi and Tera. "Let's get set up before the others arrive, that is... IF they decide to show up here, with what's happening, it's going to be a long and drawn out affair, I just know it." he continued as he turned back to Mr. Chaser.

"Sir, I'm sorry to say that for the time being, we'll be needing the use of your store and thus you will have to turn customers away, however, I'll personally see to it that you are paid compensation for having to do as such." He explained to Mr. Chaser as he immediately thought Whether the Officials pay him for aiding us with his store during such an endeavor, or I have to pay him myself. as he continued looking towards where they were pointed.

"... Now hold on just a moment," Mr. Chaser spoke. He frowned. "I'd like an explanation for this."

"We're with the Officials, sir," Umi spoke. "There's currently an emergency, and we need to access the Net from a spot close to the source."

"An emergency?" another voice spoke. The red Navi in the CopyBot, which appeared to have a motorcycle motif approached, stepped forward a bit. "If there's an emergency, you should comply."

"You're right, NitroMan" Douglas Chaser replied. He looked around to survey the status of the shop. No customers at the moment. "Since no-one is here right now, it'd be easy to close shop..."

[From Downtown]

Having overheard the owner wanting to close up early just to give the two NetBattlers a better chance of dealing with the culprit at the school, Ryuta felt it wasn't such a good idea to venture further beyond the door and sneaks back towards the alleyway in search of a backdoor he could at least spy into and check on the progress.

Hopefully, no one saw him standing by the door when the decision was made.

Jake looked over to Mr. Chaser and simply said "Thank you."

Looking back over at Umi, he nodded for them to get a mini command center set up as he focused his thoughts on what was happening.

The Bookworm is gonna get it, and I'll make sure he gets it good! he thought as he prepared to help set up what they needed to monitor the situation while still actively participating.

The back door to the bike shop was locked from the inside. There was a reinforced window on the door to see through. However, the door lead to the workshop part of the bike shop, meaning that it would be impossible to see what was going on unless the two Officials went in there to operate.

--------------

"Here, follow me," Douglas said as he walked toward the door to the workshop. "It'll be easier to convince the public that the shop's really closed for now if you act from the workshop."

"Thank you, again, Sir." Umi replied. She motioned to follow the mechanic into the workshop.

NitroMan moved over to the store window and flipped a switch on the sign displaying the word "OPEN". The lights switched to say "CLOSED."

Having admitted his disappointment in not being able to spy on the situation from the back of the shop, Ryuta prepares to leave only to sense the owner moving towards the workshop while beckoning the two NetBattlers to follow, suggesting he wanted to avoid as much attention from the public as possible.

He quickly ducks towards the otherside of the window frame to avoid being spotted and pokes his head as far towards the glass as possible without being seen, waiting to see what they plan to do once they get better situated in their new location.

Jake simply followed as he typed out a message to Chaud, to keep him updated on what they were doing.

"CC@Chasers." was all he typed in as he had Tera send it along to Chaud's PET, hopefully Protoman would pick it up.

As the three entered the workshop half of the store, Jake and Umi would see the various tools and bike parts strewn about the room. There were larger cutting blades and welding machines in this room, as well as several rows of incomplete motorcycles and frames. There were about six chairs and stools in the room as well at the different work benches.

"Take a seat and do what it is you need to do. If you need anything, I'll be in my office," Chaser spoke. "NitroMan and I will keep out of your way.

Ryuta observes one of the NetBattlers typing something into his PET; most likely an encrypted e-mail to other associates of the organization to let them know where to rendezvous and help infiltrate the school.

It soon occurs to him the many questions he has about this hacker and just how careful he was about his intentions for the school. If there really was a bomb planted somewhere in the network or property, it stands to reason that he wouldn't be anywhere near the blast radius should the demands not go in his favor. If that were the case, he should attempt to locate his hideaway and identify just how decked out he is in hacking soft/hardware before figuring out whether to stick his neck into official business.

Spirit reading, however, was no substitute for ESP or any other foreseeing capability. Still, it shouldn't stop him from using it as a compass to locate and gauge just how far the hacker was camping out and if the location he was hiding in was wide open for anyone to saunter into his viewpoints.

He sits below the window and assumes a meditative state, tapping into his spiritual flow and using it to trail out and locate a soul with the closest knowledge of the bomb's makeup and the strongest desires for satisfying his demands for the school.

Jake looks around to check out what they could use... it wasn't much but it was possible for a Command Center to be set up... the only issue was to get set up and track down the Bookworm.

Tera was all set and ready for action, he wanted to personally hurt whoever was doing this to his partner's friends, because they were his friends as well and he wouldn't stand for it!

OOC: I'm still iffy on Ryuta's ability, but whatever. If he's not going to get directly involved, I guess it doesn't matter for now.

==============

Umi didn't waste any time in sitting down in a nearby chair and operating her PET.

"Ekitai, are you ready?" she asked as she located the wireless access point on the PET's menu.

"You got it, Umi!" her female, aqua-blue Navi spoke back. Umi pulled out her Battle Chip case and opened it, preparing herself immediately.

"Alright then. Jack-In! Ekitai! Execute!" she said sternly, as she activated her PET's Jack-In function! The blue Navi disappeared from the screen in a beam of pixels and light!

Finding the Bookworm wasn't hard, but keeping the focus was going to be a bit of a challenge given how far away he was from where Ryuta sat. If he attempts to go over there while keeping focus at that long a distance, he might risk running into things and looking like a stereotypical blind person without a cane.

This was going to be a pointless attempt anyway as he was unsure of what kind of hideout the Bookworm has and whether he'll be spotted right away or cause to many alarms to startle him into setting off the bomb he planted at the school. If Ryuta had any intentions of being involved, he would have to think of a different solution other than sauntering over there like a stray dog passing by a pound. If anything, though, the very notion of where the Bookworm is and what type of soul flows through his being could give him some insight of what to watch out for if he ever accidentally stumbles across an area that bares those descriptions.

However, the longer it takes for the Official NetBattlers to come up with a back door into the school, the more restless the students will become until one of them snaps under pressure and inadvertently provokes the Bookworm to set off the bomb. While Ryuta trusts that Kai can at least keep the students from both P.E. and the library under control, it would still only be a matter of time before the inevitable happens, and Kai gets caught in the ensuing aftermath.

Ryuta gets up and starts heading out of the back alleys of the shop, deciding to search for a tall building to climb and get a better look at where the Bookworm might be hiding if only to watch his step better help him contemplates how he, himself might be able to assist in resolving the situation without making his chances of patching the reputation his jealous colleagues tore apart even harder to mend.

"Tera! Let's go!" was all Jake said as he and his partner smiled at each other.

"Alright!" the holographic image of Tera exclaimed back as his hologram disappeared and his face appeared in Jake's projection PET.

"Jack-in! Tera! Execute!" Jake followed Umi in similar fashion of words as he too sent Tera into the Cyber world.

[Tera to Chaser's Bikes & Motorcycles Homepage (Main)]

"Well... now it's a matter of getting into the school... let's hope that there isn't much of a hassle." Jake hesitantly stated... he didn't want to be responsible for any negative repercussions.

It had been several minutes. By now, their Navis had joined up with ProtoMan outside the school's network. And introductions were starting to be made.

"Yeah, introductions will be cut short for now. I'm Omicron. My Operator's name is Vince." the blond haired Navi spoke.

"Hey," Vince noted from his PET.

"I'm Ekitai," Umi's partner spoke. "My Operator is Umi."

"Hello," Umi greeted quickly.

There was a sound of beeping for a moment on both Jake's and Umi's PETs before Chaud apparently answered a call on his PET.

"Vacre, what's the situation?" he asked. There were several seconds of pause before he spoke again. "... Then there's no point in dawdling. I'm sending ProtoMan into the Network to assist. Meanwhile, we're receiving aid to track the Bookworm's position in the real world!"

Chaud then ended the communication and then spoke to everyone else.

"Heinz has informed me that the bomb's digital detonator was deleted. But now there's only 10 minutes before the automatic timer runs out. We don't have to worry about the bomb going off from our meddling. ProtoMan. You and Omicron break into the school's network. Umi and Jake, your Navis are to stay with our SciLab contact and guard the network entrance."
