This Is It is an upcoming two disc compilation album, coinciding with the release of Michael Jackson's This Is It, a concert film documenting Jackson's rehearsals for a concert series of the same name.

The album will be released internationally on October 26 and the movie in theaters on October 28, 2009.

The press release announcing the two-disc album describes it as a "stand-alone companion" to the motion picture.

The first disc will consist of original album masters of some of Jackson's biggest hits, arranged in the same sequence as they appear in the film, and ends with two versions of the previously unreleased song "This Is It". The song also features in the film's closing sequence, and includes backing vocals by members of The Jacksons.

The second disc will include unreleased versions of some of Michael Jackson's classic hits. It also includes a spoken word poem by Jackson, titled "Planet Earth" which was originally printed in the liner notes of the Dangerous album.
