Blackshade growled angrily, his powerful claws digging into the bankside. As he moved down, walking, water churned up from the shallows. His red eyes kept flickering in and out of existance. He never wanted to be back here. Even now, he was not fully here. His magic kept him half tied to the land of living, and he used that tie for vengance. No longer did he seek to build an empire, but to bring down his hated enemies through pain.

mystery approached the newcomer with caution, but seemed to ease at the sight of her old leader, blackshade. She grinned maliciously and bowed her head slightly, yet it held no true meaning to any normal onlooker. She russled her black wings into a more comfertable rest and blinked knowingly. It had been a long time since she'd seen black shade...over a thousand years ago now. She read his anger and stayed at a respectfull distance, though she didn't fear the brute, she knew the powers of emotion. Avrent had taught her such, he had taught her everything she knew now. She waited patiently for him to calm, perhaps he wouldn't, but he had been her before, he needed no welcome or pity. She would be the last person to give it...she had other, more important purposes. She looked to the black tar lake and growled. She didn't like this horrid place, it brought her very disturbing images. She huffed slightly, but refused to turn her back on the furious brute.

Blazing red eyes turned to look at Mystery. As they did so, they winked out of existance, leaving empty voids where they had been. As quickly as they had gone, they were back, narrowed and angry. The dark lord did not bother to greet his former servant. He would like to take his anger out on something, but he was channeling the energy it afforded him into a sort of reincarnation. He would not be here for much longer. But neither could he be there. His fur had a half-transparent look about it. He decided to speak, not out of any desire, unless it was for information. "Who else is here?" He snarled at Mystery.

Gavin watched the two wolves his eyes glinting. "Ah...Master Shade, we have been expecting you for quite a while....I am Gavin, the underlord. Do not bow or show any of those lively stupidites..." Gavin smirked and waited for Shade to say something, "Many are coming from luansir...what has happned."

"A war, you idiot." Blackshade snapped, resuming his pacing. Last time he had been here, he had managed to escape meeting Gavin. His mind seemed to be in two places at once. Luansir, then the lost land, and back. He could see everything that went on around him in the realm of the dead, but of Luansir he caught only brief pictures, which became more and more frequent as the spectral world grew dimmer.
