Ever since a young boy, Damien felt responsible for Cameron's well-being and safety, because he knew that the eldest brother Jared was undependable. Although sometimes Damien can come off as a little over-protective. QUICK THINKING;; Also another must when you're a lifeguard. Damien's the kind of guy who will step up to take action in a situation, a plan already forming in his mind. When on duty, Damien puts this trait of his to work, because saving lives is no joke. But luckily, not that many accidents happen on board the SS Liberty, so most days Damien's lifeguard duty only means patrolling the deck and pool. EAGER LEARNER;; This boy is always eager to learn new things, and not just the good stuff. He's like a sponge the way he absorbs information and generally everything around him. Travelling to new places has always been a joy of Damien's. He loves learning the customs and culture of different people and has picked up a few languages including Mandarin and the Cantonese dialect, although he admit he has an awful accent. DAREDEVIL;; Damien always had a keen sense of adventure, even as a child. He's always up for a challenge, and won't back out unless it will endanger his life. Damien likes to think he inherited this trait from his mother, who's quite adventurous as well. His father however, doesn't approve. Damien tries to please his father most of the time but most of the time the two clash. Damien gets upset, because even though he's a daring guy, he knows he will never cross the line and put his own life in danger, but his father doesn't see that. CHARMING;; If looks can kill, Damien would be a serial killer right now. He was blessed to be born with what some girls call a perfect smile and piercing blue eyes. Yes, Damien is definitely a charming guy, although he doesn't seem to use it to his advantage. Love is something he hopes to have one day, but it's not the most important thing on his to-do list. FUN;; Damien's only serious when on duty, but other than that, he's like any other nineteen year old. This young man here knows how to party and have a good time, and you can usually find him hanging with his friends when off duty. Pranks are nothing new to Damien, he loves them. But he will get pissed when a prank gets too far, and Damien isn't a guy you want to cross when he's in a temper. TEMPER;; As said above, Damien isn't a guy you want to cross when he's pissed off. Sure he knows how to have fun, but he doesn't like it when people cross a line, and he especially hates it when people just throw away their lives. Like his brother, he's not into drugs and alcohol. He also gets mad at himself when he thinks he isn't doing his job right, he's set a very high standard for himself, perhaps a little too high since he keeps letting himself down. MOM’S NAME // Emily Phillipa Quaye DAD’S NAME // Colin Dane Price SIBLINGS // Jared Phillip Price, --- --- Price OTHER IMPORTANT RELATIVES // Cirrus, Damien's 4 year old Labrador Retriever HISTORY // Twenty years ago ~~on a warm and sunny day in Bali~~... an enormous earthquake shook Southeast Asia, which soon after generated a tsunami, destroying the lovely beaches. Three days before the disaster, New York born Colin Dane Price arrived at Bali, anticipating a long and relaxing vacation. The executive manager checked into his hotel room, and was pleasantly surprised by the breathtaking view of the beach and the sparkling blue sea. Two floors below him, Emily Phillipa Quaye was lying on the hotel's queen-sized bed, feeling bored. And it was ultimately their love for alcohol that brought them together. The two met the following day at the hotel's bar when Colin offered to buy Emily a drink. She accepted, thinking it was just a harmless holiday fling, and conversation issued at once. One drink turned into two, then into three. The two spent the rest of the day in Colin's hotel room, having well... a harmless holiday fling. The next morning, Emily managed to convince Colin to go snorkelling with her. It was a spur of the moment decision, but what the hell right? The young woman took to the water at once, and Colin followed uneasily, he was never a big fan of swimming. Hell, the native New Yorker hated water, having spent most of his life on dry land in his home and then office. Just as they were starting to enjoy themselves, they felt a brief but strong vibration. Had they known it was an earthquake, a large one at that, measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale, I doubt that they would have continued marvelling at the stunning sealife below them. But Colin and Emily had no clue. None at all. The first sign of the tsunami was the diminishing of the tide. The sudden receding of the shoreline puzzled them at first, but Colin eventually realized that something was very very wrong, if the distinctly visible rising of the waves far off in the horizon was any indication. He grabbed Emily, determined to get out of this mess and onto higher ground. And so it was a race. The oncoming killer waves against two unfortunate humans. And guess who lost? Their only way to survive, although it was a slim chance, was to hold on to the coconut trees sprouting on the sandy beach, and to each other. The first wave that hit them was only a preview of what was to come. The cold foamy water slammed against them, sending shudders into their bodies, Colin swore he could feel his bones rattling. Relief. Extreme relief was the only thing occupying Colin and Emily's mind when the tsunami was over. They had survived. Perhaps it was the experience they shared together that bonded them, and it was a rash decision, but the following day at the American embassy Colin proposed to Emily. The young woman though, had enough sense to not accept straight away, they barely knew each other after all. But she gave him some hope, perhaps they would meet again in the future? Emily left Bali the following day, and Colin's flight took off a day later. A year later, a window of oppertunity surfaced. Colin was sipping his morning cup of coffee when he saw, could he believe his eyes? Emily walking down the street. It turns out she had been offered a job in NYC. A small spark rekindled in the twenty-six year old's heart and he immediately went after Emily and asked her out on a date. It was smooth sailing after that, and the couple were married a year later. But it wasn't until Colin was thirty-two, and Emily thirty that their first-born came along. They named their cherished boy Jared and already had made further plans to conceive another child. Two years later another baby boy was added to the Price family, Damien. And two years after that --- came along. Growing up, the brothers were close, although Damien and --- seemed to be the closer of the three. Jared didn't seem to fit in the typical role of the eldest brother: protective, responsible etc. Instead, he was a rebel, the one who always had something to say, the one who always had to do something. Of course Mr. and Mrs. Price didn't approve of their son's behavior, but they thought it was a temporary thing, he was a kid after all, and he was growing up. Too bad they didn't nip it in the bud, eh? Too bad they didn't know that the mischievious boy before their eyes would turn into a monster. Now when Damien was around eight or so, Emily would drive him out to the beach every weekend so he could escape from the busy NYC life and have fun. It wasn't long before Damien fell in love with water sports, the beach gave him the opportunity to activities such as surfing. Two months into his surfing, Damien decided that he would be a professional surfer after he graduated from school. So everything was getting better right? Damien found his true calling, Cameron had his football. It was all good. Wrong. Damien always looked up to Jared, but from the start knew that Jared was pretty much unreliable. Instead, Damien turned out to be the responsible boy that took care of his younger brother, that covered up for his older brother. But it didn't last for long. Drugs and alcohol made their merry way to Jared in the middle of his senior year in high school, things were going from bad to worse. And then one day Jared was crashing a party with a couple of his friends when unfortunately for them the sound of police sirens were heard. The officers found Jared in a room, wasted and high and dragged him back to the station. The incident opened their parents' eyes, but it was too late. Jared was sent to juve. After Jared's little episode, Emily and Colin decided it would be best to send Damien and --- somewhere else for a new start, because they were afraid they would be influenced as well. It was too late to save Jared, he was beyond saving, but perhaps they could do something for Damien and ---. So they made arrangements and transferred the boys from their original school to one called Liberty High. Damien didn't think much of it, he was actually feeling slightly irritated that he had to change school just as he junior year was about to approach. He changed his mind however, when he found out Liberty High was actually on a ship. High school on a ship? Now that was something you didn't hear about often. But Damien would give anything just to be close to the water so he agreed. The rest of Damien's high school life went pretty smoothly. He was famous for his participation in water sports in school, he pounced at any water activity the school threw out. It was the happiest moments of Damien's life. He felt so happy that he didn't want to leave after he graduated. Professional surfer? Yeah, maybe one day. That could wait. And besides, he couldn't bear parting from ---. One brother already left them, so leaving was the last thing on Damien's mind. So the summer after he graduated, Damien signed up for a lifeguard traning course and a first aid course as well. He earned his certificate just days before the SS Liberty departed from New York and became the newest addition to the SS Liberty's staff. Student to staff, Damien seems to like the change and the privileges that comes with being an adult of the ship. His dog, Cirrus seems to like it too, she's become a pretty good helper to Damien as well. But hey, don't even mention Baywatch to Damien, he'll throw you overboard. Bleh.
