austin. this boy here is
straight. he likes to spend time with the other
brains. Overall Appearance: Austin’s about five eleven and weighs in at around 150. He’s not particularly muscular, but he’s not lanky or awkward looking. Austin’s never been one for tans—he’s quite pale. He has no piercings and no tattoos, and doesn’t plan on getting any…ever. He’s got dark brown hair that usually falls in messy curls almost down to his eyes, which are a light hazel color. He’s got a dorky smile but it’s cute all the same, and he uses it often around people he likes. As far as style goes, Austin doesn’t care all that much, being the nerd he is. So, naturally, he usually ends up looking like, well…the nerd he is. Even so, it suits him well.
Personality: Austin’s the kind of person who is perfectly willing to talk to you, but he probably won’t initiate a conversation. He’s friendly enough though, and an incredible help if you need a tutor. Austin’s got a quick wit and a sharp tongue, which he often uses to make scathing remarks about the social hierarchy of Liberty—and those people who are determined to rise in its ranks. He’s a lifelong possessor of minority opinions, and is never afraid to speak his mind. He has a tendency to act before fully thinking things through, and it gets him into a lot of tricky situations. Austin can be a bit obsessive, too—he gets very absorbed in whatever he’s doing easily. He’s sort of charming in a geeky way, but doesn’t really notice it himself. Most of the time, he’s very relaxed and loves to have fun and just hang out with his friends. He’s very protective of his friends and family (particularly his sister) and if you hurt any of the people he’s close to, he’ll find some way to make your life suck.
History: Stuart Austin Campbell is the firstborn child of Frank and Emily Campbell, born on Halloween night. From the very beginning they had high expectations, and it soon became clear that he would have no trouble living up to their standards.
As is the case with most every person, the first two years of Austin's life were interesting to no one (except perhaps his parents). However, shortly after his second birthday, things got a little less dull—his sister Lydia was born. The focus of his parents shifted drastically, and Austin was left somewhat neglected, once he reached school age. It wasn't something he resented, though. Lydia was the golden child, and she definitely outshined him, but he was content to stay in the shadows. The two siblings were and still are actually quite close. Austin would probably like to say that he protects his sister, but in reality it's mostly the other way around.
Left to his own devices, he became somewhat of an interesting child—and from the very start, Austin was very social and opinionated. Both he and his sister were enrolled in the very best schools, and it became evident that Stuart (who had, by now, made it clear that he HATED his first name) was somewhat of a genius, particularly with math and science. He also had a knack for explaining things in a way that people could understand, so throughout middle school there were sort of two teachers in all his classes—the one at the front talking, and the one at the back translating.
When he was finally ready to start high school, his parents weren't sure exactly where to send their son. However, his mother wanted to keep her two kids in school together, so he ended up being sent to Liberty. It was rumored to have a great tennis program.
When he first arrived at the school, Austin loved it. However, he soon began to see that Liberty was completely divided into a series of cliques, and dominated by a social hierarchy he found repulsive. Still, staying or going wasn't his choice to make—and it was clear that his parents intended to keep him where he was. He's resented the school and many of its students for a long time.
Unless you're one of his friends or his sister, Austin's not the most pleasant person to be around at Liberty. He's got a sharp tongue and he likes to use it—but he's one of the best tutors around, so people end up dealing with him pretty often anway. Fun fact—he also plays the guitar.
