Welcome to the Digital World. In general, you're probably arriving on Header Island - it's here where the barrier between the Real World and the Digital World seems to be weakest.

Please note that the map beyond this immediate area will be ever changing; this is the "center" of the Digital World, so to speak, and so when the world shifts or changes, it will add on outside this "safe" realm.

A map of the surrounding area, in detail (more information below):

(There's only as much detail available as the Digimon of Kilo Town and Giga City are aware of; as people explore further, more detail will be filled in)

For OOC purposes, as it would be near-impossible to find such a map right now IC, an overall map of the entire world. Like many maps, it's a little distorted, but it shows the whole planet - the continent along the top continues from the right side to the left side.

If you'd care to add a location - within reason, like "town of X" or "so and so's hide out" or a lake or pond - feel free to note it in reply to this thread. Including a dot done in paint or something similar would be a great help, so we can better edit the maps.
However, the major map changes when the landmass shifts, only the Admins can declare.

Locations

The Torrent Continent
Oldest major landmass in the Digital World. It can sometimes be hard to tell where it begins and ends, though. Home to the giant mountain Hexidecimal and volcano Binary.

Ram Peninsula
This used to be the most well-explored area of the Digital World, but after one of the major earthquakes flooded the Binary Rainforest over ten years ago, no one's sure what's survived below Overclock Falls.

Byte Archipelago
The same weak spot in the crust that once formed Mount Binary has been forming a whole chain of small volcanoes and volcanic islands. None of these should be active anymore, except the very smallest, but with these earthquakes, things seem to be going nuts.

Header Island
Digi for "middle of nowhere". The largest island in the Byte Archipelago, it's still pretty tiny, as in you could easily circle it in three days - two if you're in a hurry. It seems that this is one of the points where the barrier between worlds is the weakest, though, as humans have been popping up here more frequently than elsewhere. Fortunately for those who can't swim, at low tide it's connected to the Peninsula by a thin sandbar - but those with poor timing will have to wade instead of walking.

Kilo Town
Bigger than a village, smaller than a city; many types of Digimon live here, but none of them are very important or powerful. Honestly they settled here to have a nice, peaceful place at the base of a non-active volcano, near the beach, but the best laid plans...

Overclock Falls
A massive collection of waterfalls that pours over the a cliff in the middle of the Binary Rainforest, into the lake below. At the top of the 500 foot cliffs lies Giga City; at the bottom, a lot of soggy marshland, though the rest of the forest isn't quite as mushy as it used to be.

Giga City
It used to be the biggest city on the peninsula, but those who've travelled there (mostly traders, rogue travelers, and Abramon in search of a few more bucks) say Tera City now dwarfs it. Perhaps the digimon got nervous about living on top of a 500 foot cliff, surrounded by rivers? Either way, this city sports beautiful Greek architecture both above and below the ground.

Mount Binary
Well, it used to be a dormant volcano. But you know how good volcanoes and earthquakes get along... Still, it's been at least 20 years since it erupted, so if anyone wants to risk climbing it, they'll have one hell of a vantage point.

Tera City
It's a steep downhill climb no matter which way you head to Tera City, and maybe not wanting to go back up is why such a huge assortment of digimon have gathered here. Most the city is built in red, brown, and gold hues with very Chinese looking architecture, and multistory buildings are common here. Unlike other areas, there even seems to be a sense of government and justice in this city. Just don't ask anyone what lies over the mountain ridge to the north; most the year, it's too cold for anyone to bother.

The Oceans
Everyone knows there's more land eventually on the other side of the Java Gulf, that's why it's a Gulf. But the Bit Sea... No one's ever swam out into it for more than a couple of days and lived to tell the tale. Or maybe what's on the other side is just so awesome that no one wants to come back?

There's also many smaller villages and landmarks throughout the land, too small, too old, or too obscure to be dropped on a map. The locals will sometimes tell you that there's a good little diner just up the road, though, or maybe some old ruins, if you're looking for a clue on how to get home. Give it a shot.

Header Island

Gizamon
There's usually a couple groups of 3-5 of these Rookies wandering around the islands or just off the shores, scavenging for food, fish, herbs, and whatever other remotely valuable things they can get their claws on to take back to town and sell. Though they're virus types, they're relatively friendly and might even sell you some of their goods, though they're not above stealing your stuff back while you're asleep

Gotsumon
Along with their In-Training form of Motimon, these guys are about the only things that actually live on this island, and since they hate water, they're not leaving any time soon. There's a dozen or so of them around the island, though they mostly stay in their small village near the top of the island, protecting the hundred or so Motimon that live there. They're mischievous and pranksters by nature, but have no intention to actually hurt anyone.

Plus the usual assortment of wandering, sea-or-forest dwelling rookies and champions for you to run into.

Kilo Town
Tucked away at the foot of a mountain, it's really only accessible from the shoreline...

Information Booth
Near the west edge of town, a rather chatty Tentomon has turned a week's worth of driftwood into an Information booth, where he'll gladly tell you anything you need to know and everything you didn't that he happens to know, and all for free, though throwing him a tip or a snack wouldn't hurt. Tentomon will never lie to you, but he also often won't get to the point; be prepared for the most irrelevance you've heard since talk shows.

Item Shop
Marvinmon, a champion-level android digimon with an oversized head, runs a small items shop near the middle of town, and he doesn't seem too happy about it. Or anything, for that matter. Still, he'll buy things that you or the Gizamon bring in, and sell them back to you for a meager profit. Just don't ask him any deep or important questions.

Hotel
A small staff of Bakemon in assorted costume run this run-down little hotel. They'll assure you it was built last year, and maybe that's true and their aura simply gives this a rickety feel. If you can deal with the creepiness, staying here will set you back 500cR a room the first night and 200cR every night after, but the soft beds sure beat sleeping outside, breakfast is complementary, and the Bakemon have plenty of cures for insomnia! Showers are also available, free with your room or 100cR if you just want to drop in and get cleaned up.

Abramon's House
Around here, it's more of a hobby than a business, so these two Champion level digimon work out of their house. They look much more sullen and older than they are, and aren't much to talk, but the service they offer is quite useful, to the brave. Abramon will teleport you anywhere you've been before for 800cR, anywhere he's but you haven't for 1500cR, and if you can point to a spot on a map, he'll try to send you there for 5000cR, but you're only guaranteed on that part within a 50 mile radius. Sadly, though, these two aren't much of travelers, and haven't been much further north than the edge of the rainforest, and no further south than Header Island... or at least one hasn't. One of them has been to Giga City, but it was an accident and he doesn't want to make his brother feel left out... But it's not like he has the 1500cR to spare either.

There's also a fair amount of houses on the east side of the city, and a whole boardwalk of small shops, shops that don't actually sell anything, storytellers, and restaurants of varying degrees of healthiness, if you're bored enough to wander down there. Perhaps the most interesting would be Divermon's surfing and fishing lessons. There's also some sort of ferry that comes to town once in a while, but no one's exactly sure where "across the gulf" it goes to, and it only comes by every three months or so, and that's if you're lucky.
