Alexi was patiently waiting for Chase to get home. Everything was set and he couldn’t wait to see the look on his boyfriends face when he finally figured out what was going on. He’d set up a bit of a treasure hunt throughout the apartment, with various sticky notes saying the things he loved about Chase and the directions to the next clue. The last clue was on the coffee table in the living room, a framed caricature of the pair of them as superheroes that he’d finally finished a couple of days ago.

Rose petals littered his bed, the sheets red satin just for the occasion and they were also sprinkled about the floor of the room, while one rose petal was with each note and clue of the treasure hunt. A time where nothing could bother them and they could be together without a care in the world. Chase had finished up early and left Connor to close up the shop. His brother had started working at the book store and Chase figured he could trust him to close up. Alexi thought that of all people who should know how special and important they were to him, it was Chase.
